There was no recall of Impacts when a pellet probe went flying into someones shoulder and almost hitting his son…. Made a good mark in the wall that did, but no recall.

So thanks for the insults, I suppose

Yeah, I was definitely cheerleading a bit for this gun. I was hoping this thing would be great but I knew to wait awhile before spending my money on it. I had no idea if it’d be engineered properly or not. I was just upset with the bandwagoneers parroting the same “COPY OF IMPACT” crap. Well, it seems this didn’t copy anything. In fact, it doesn’t seem to copy anything closely resembling a properly-engineered and SAFE product.

I have to admit, though my panties got in a twist, the naysayers did have a hand in me taking a step back and not allow myself to become the test department. So thanks for the insults, I suppose. All I intended to do was share information I had gathered from R&L who seem to really stand by this air gun. The question becomes, if there ever exists a catastrophic failure, will there be a recall? That’s LOTS of money for a small outfit.

Nice review going on over there. Wish I was a member so I could view the pictures but reading the words is good enough for me. I’ve been in manufacturing for years so I can understand what the author describes. I would have no problem with the manufacture if it were made from 304 stainless steel, but would be too heavy. Machining hydraulic to the point you’ve got nothing left but thin walls….well…… …

Well, let’s see how this story unfolds. The Priest may never experience a failure, let alone catastrophic, but I’m not gonna buy one now and find out. Been looking into the Vulcan of late. ‘Ole Tony got or had one in black synthetic with my name on it when I decide to pull the trigger.

so,,,,we need to know if the problems found have been sorted,,,,anyone,,,,?

I believe only one person mentioned that they thought the priest might be a “perfect gun” you make it sound like everyone thought so

WOW , that review is indeed a bombshell.

It did mirror the findings Wingman pointed out about the design too.

So much for the perfect gun people where talking about :suprisedn: :suprisedn: :suprisedn:

Here’s a rather interesting thread with a take it apart review from a Ducth guy having early production gun. I must say that things do not look very good. http://www.airgunforum.co.uk/forums/showthread.php/218848-RTI-Priest-new-airgun/page6

Oh man the Fat boy on the Priest would be bad,
That would be one bad looking gun that would be super quiet,
At the price range and the sound level with a fat boy I am so tempted to pull the trigger,
Please keep the reports coming in, The Priest is sounding better and better,
Mike

I mean’t to tell you guys the shroud on my gun did not have a vent hole like Gregor described in his review. I vented mine and it helps. It really needs a good air stripper, some Colibri style baffles and a vented shroud.

Already had donny make a rear cap for his fat boy with that thread so I really hope that is what it is.

Not sure where the end barrel is in respect the the bottle??..

That fat boy may not fit directly on the barrel.

I’ve decided to reach out to Donny as well after you, Jman mentioning that was the route you’re going. So that’s an option. I think I may end upre-ordering the Priest as I doubt I’ll be able to save up for a decked-out Vulcan complete with sidelever, synthetic stock and shroud/moderator. Couple more reviews ought to be enough to tip the scales in the Priest’s favor.

Put a 1/2 x 20 adapter on the end….. then u can screw on any LDC with the appropriate threads..

Game over…

I haven’t got the dimensions but I can make adapters if I had the proper specs to work with.

If it were me I would do away with there so called shroud and just put one on that actually does what it’s supposed to do.

M14X1 thread on muzzle. Got that from their website. Already had donny make a rear cap for his fat boy with that thread so I really hope that is what it is.

I’ll tell you what, whether or not I purchase The Priest, Randy and Matt have really taken the time out to answer all my questions whenever I call them, and obviously I call them alot. It always makes me feel if a problem should arise, they’ll take care of the problem. Obviously this is Tony’s house, talonairgunforum, but I still wanted to mention the quality customer service I’ve gotten from R&L, being that Tony doesn’t sell the Priest.

Concerning the shroud situation, they’re working on it so hopefully that goes smoothly. I have no question that I’ll be needing something to help tame the sound report. It’s either wait a bit for R&L’s shroud or go with the likes of Donny and his fatboy/shrouds.

I would not trust an adjustable Scope Mount to be level enough for a bubble level myself.

Good call. Just use one made for the receiver, if need be.
