Well, just like the title says, they’re back. As soon as I get mine I’ll post up some pics and check out fitment. Should be pretty sweet!!

There’s two at-home kits from duracoat:

But hoot, they have a mind of their own!! If I don’t protect them, they’ll get STD’s!!!

quote Caboose212:

That’s why I have to have a gunsmith do it… I’ll get around to doing something in Duracoat too- from home. I’d like to try out those hand sprayer things they have.

You are free to do what you want….but, Duracoating your hands seems downright stupid to me.

Here in the oil field i have had some motorcycle parts Ceramic coated, Very tuff stuff, I have had header pipes done for eleven years and they still look new.
But all the bigger company’s bought out the little guys and they will not touch small jobs like small parts,,,,
Way cool stuff,,,

If you’re interested in building up a .25, check out the marauder forum- Hill could set you up w/a modded valve and transfer port, or you could go with a WAR valve (Wicked Air Rifles). Of course, you know there’s heavier hammer springs, plus Motorhead might be making heavier hammers (maybe hit up PakProtector). Not sure about that, so don’t quote me. Speaking of, PakProtector may or may not be doing another run of his bottle conversion kits:

I’m hoping he will do another run!! I’d love to build a .25 or even a .30 from one of his kits!! His kits use either a Theoben or even an Airforce bottle- since the bottles have the same thread…

Over on the GTA, there’s a guy “CarsonRatSniper” who’s making/testing some heavier swaged slugs in .25, and he’s done up a new TJ .25 barrel w/1-22 twist… the testing is still being done on that though…

I’ll take whatever I can get.

I’d like to do a project gun, a .25 Marauder sometime next year. I’ve owned several Mrods, and there is a lot of potential available, if modded right. Unreasonable amounts of power are available and accuracy is as good as the shooter, based on my experience.

yessir! It’s the reg and gauge port assembly (PN 5 in the parts diagram) built as one unit. The gauge only reads regulated air though. I like it- it’s solidly built, I’ll let you know how it regulates as soon as I get my chrony, and get the parts cerakoted. I don’t want to do any tuning or anything before I do the finish work, because I have to take her apart… I could run some pellets over the chrony for some preliminary numbers if you’d like…

I’m curious how that new Huub regulator works. Is this the one that doesn’t need a vent hole drilled in the air cylinder?

Here’s a mock up of how the EBR hand guard looks on the chassis- I haven’t decided on where it’s final spot is, this is just an idea…

Stuff I’ve done so far:

Hammer forged .22 barrel, 17″
Shortened barrel shroud
Neil Clague LDC
“Hill” modified valve and transfer port
“Motorhead” light weight hammer
Airgun Exporters’ regulator (Huub)
Daystate bolt handle

I built the rifle for 30 fpe. I won’t be tuning it until I’ve got all the parts dipped/cerakoted, have my Chrony, and she’s assembled for the last time (riiight). The stock is an XLR Industries “Basic” stock, and it is a bit pricey at $180, but less expensive than, say, a Magpul PRS stock… The Cerakote is an epoxy paint, not sure how it is mixed- usually Cerakote prefers you to have it done by a certified sprayer…

Isn’t Cerakote an epoxy based paint? I believe I remember seeing it come in two cans, you mix it, then spray?

I’ve heard it dries to a really hard finish. That would be a world better than anodizing which, to me, seems to scrape and scratch all too easily.

That will look good combined with the camo pattern. Have you modded the Marauder yet? 10 lb spring, large TP, and all that?

And…what butt stock is that? I’ve not seen that style anywhere. It looks expensive!

Hoot-
Either that or it might be early onset dementia 🙂

Oh, he’ll learn quick, or fall to the wolves!! The paint you’re talking about is the Duracoat. They came out w/that system for those that don’t want to invest in an airbrush and compressor… I’ve never used Duracoat, but Cerakote looks to be more durable, given that it’s basically paint. I have high hopes as well- I’m also painting some parts of my Condor ST with Cerakote! 😈

I’ve examined the Ceracoat application, which is one of a couple of the durable finishes available. It’s interesting and I’m curious to see how it turns out. It would be an excellent means to upgrade a used air gun finish.

One of these applications, either Duracoat, or Ceracoat, comes in a spray can self contains the hardening solution inside the can. The Youtube shows the maker pushing the can down to puncture the internal container, then you spray and let it dry/harden. A better solution than truck bed liner.

Keep us informed.

PS: I hope Sharpshooter understands out twisted sense of humor around here… :13: Our verbal banter is mean to confuse, demean, and otherwise keep people coming back between bullpup “happenings”. Things can seasonally get a bit dull around here sometimes.
