traxxas E-Revo 1:10 brushless
it arrived yesterday, i ordered it as soon as i had sold enough stuff…but it seems like they are in short supply most places, and where its available they want nearly 700 bucks for it….so i ended up canceling the truck at thebarnfloor.com who had it for 609….and went ebay for 660 with 8% bing cashback….making it 608 incl shipping
bought 4 packs of zippy 3S 25C 5000mah batteries and a 8 cell charger for lipo….charger can be programmed in tons of ways, and it does balance charging and all including temp probe
also ordered castle link which allows me to program the ESC, and theres a lot of stuff to change….like braking, acceleration curve, how much initial power it can draw and much more
anyhow the truck….well buggy….no truck…had it not been for the monster truck wheels i would call it a buggy with such a streamlined body and all
its all very nicely laid out…and came completely ready to run…i dropped 8AA into the transmitter, and loaded 2 lipos….and off i went driving a bit carefull….but its very hard not to try see what it can do.
before programming it….it was VERY agressive, launching wheelies as soon as you added more power, allmost hard to keep the front down….it has tons of body roll, and the gear train could sound nicer….but it all works….breakes was set at 50%, which is like a sloppy 1:8 nitro buggy brake, upped it to 75% which is enough to make a stoppie, so i lowered it to 70% which gives lots of breaking, but only does stoppies when max brakes are applied and surface allows it.
this truck should come with a center diff, why they dont dump that 25$ item in there from the start is a mystery to me….with all the wheelie power it would be nice with a centerdiff to transfer the power forward once the front lifts off
second i wish they had used bolts on some of the screws….they just thread into plastic, and is way easy to overtighten, even with great care taken…
third….i would have liked it as a kit….you learn so much from assembling it your self….not i have to guess what to take appart for access a certain part
i got center diff ordered, but it hasnt showed up yet….and i ordered a sway bar kit….this kit is a must ! it helps soooooo much
one tire has allready shredded 🙄 i hope some glue will hold it together so i can get a few more miles out of it
i put my old digital camera on it….it has a lens housing for extra lenses so i though that would protect it …and it did….but the ride was too rough i guess for it to keep recording…it kept ending up with format error….i really wish i had recorded there was some spetacular crashes 🙂
heres the little bit the camera managed to record

yay i finally won something at a good price on ebay
a new in box traxxas Bandit with 12t titan motor …73$ its the old version without the brushless velinion super duper fast system
came with 7c hump nimh pack…..i was looking at the losi mini desert buggy….cool little buggy for indoor driving…but it was so slow i returned it to the store no more than 2 hours buying it…..
the bad….well phillips screws all over….and some of them on the hinges has a tendency to unscrew them self
battery is nimh, with a max charge of 4 amps takes 45 minutes to charge….but they dont really like those fast charges….
limited runtime by the 3000 mah battery
the cool….allthough being rear wheel drive….its actually pretty cool on my little backyard track, it drives real nice
the 12T titan motor is somewhat weak compared to my other toys that are all brushless, it is very quiet compared…power is there, though torks are lagging a bit behind….about 35 mph when it gets up to speed…brakes are very mild….too mild for my taste…allmost non existing
i ordered a 8cell 5A nimh pack…..hope that will give a bit longer runtime, and more punch.
i dont know if theres some more agressive motors out there in the 540 size or is should just shell out 100 bucks and get a chinese brushless
all in all im surpriced of how much i like this little under dog, it drives real nice….of course you can feel the front being pushed by the rear so steering is quite different than my 4wd, which tends to be loose in the rear and and being pulled by the front wheel around the corner.
radio system is traxxas old 27 mhz system….buut who cares at 75 bucks i cant complain, it will be a nice guest car for visitors to drive….wife has seen the light with my losi crawler which now has 30 grams weight in each wheel after cutting the rims a bit on the lathe….what a difference it makes…now near 70-80 degree slopes can be concurred on my artificial carpet mountain
still cant wait to get the HPI sprint flux on the road, right now its just sitting there looking pretty, grrrrrrrr
