Mine is the same as Rides. Remember that Ed has an incline of 0.5 degrees sloping the rail down in front. Otherwise I think it would barely clear.

To answer your question the rail would extend forward and begin to cut through the top of the moderator about half way out on the moderator on mine. This scope rail plane misses at the rear of the mod. but would shave .020 to .030 estimate out at the muzzle end.

The reality is that the mod. is not of issue to you but you can’t get a reasonable cheek weld with the scope sitting down tight on the rail. Look at pictures of scoped bullpups and see the raised rings, they are use for a reason. You are laying your cheek bone on top of the action and not behind and below like a carbine type geometry.

Secoda,

If you extended the scope rail would it clear the moderator? Trying to understand the clearance it has forward of the scope rail. Especially since the rail angles down toward the barrel axis.

Raccoon ready. Hawke 8-32×56 Sidewinder SR Pro mounted on Standard R3 .30 cal. This combo has killed a lot of raccoons already. 😉

It’s a fairly large scope. I guess I need to add a little stain to the stock but this guy is a working tool. 😀

See my dear Elmer,,, you still need time to know/ understand who is/ what is this great Wingy ??? he has every unique and top things ,,,

only a nice stock is not all he has!!?? he has more and more unique rifles and other stuffs,,, check with him,, :biggrinn: :biggrinn:

Wow, such a unique and nice looking stock. Not feeling the off center shroud on the .30’s. Maybe if they were longer and oval shaped to clear the reservoir but still have the added volume. That way the side profile wouldn’t look so odd.

Ed,
Do you think any .22 or .25 mags will be in this shipment?

Wingman,

Can you put an straight edge along the top of the rail and tell me how many inches or mm in front of the rail that the modulator intersects?

AKay

Wingman,

Thanks for the pic. But it is hard to know if the modulator ends up being higher than the rail (the rail is some many moa sloped downward). I want to try to keep my scope axis as close to the bore as possible. My night vision will make this more difficult.

AKay

Ed or any Matador .30 owner,

Does moderator meet or exceed the height of scope rail? I am considering my options for optics. I know the scope rail is sloped and the new moderator sits higher on the .30s. If I attach my ps-22 night scope on the front of my day scope, I was wondering if I was going to have to get a higher scope mount to maintain clearance between the night scope and moderator?

AKay

Yes, I owned one. It works fine. When you go to 16X the scope becomes very long and very heavy.

Personally, I am going to use the UTG Bugbuster 3X9 on mine. I’ve owned it before as well.

Either scope will do fine, depending on the distance you plan to shoot.

Has anyone tried this compact scope out before?
UTG 30mm SWAT 3-12X44 Compact IE Scope with AO Mil-dot, (Amazon$109)

Might be a good fit for incoming Lelya…

Yes I am sure that is correct. I think the Lelyas we’re said to get a new eccentric mod design like the 30 matador. I prefer the original design, Lelya was not loud and the original design is cleaner looking and less conspicuous.

Ok if we’d permanenlty gule the SM onto the airguns there should be no problem.

Does this mean the Veles will have the mod?

I want mine as Ed ships it, without anything other than the OEM shroud. The Leyla’s beauty is being short. A permanently glued moderator would be a problem with that. Better to just thread the shroud so something locally made could be added as necessary.

Hoot:

I thought he was talking about the Veles since not having the mod was keeping people from ordering.
