Q:

Vortex Viper 2.5-10×32 FFP – perfect scope for Lelya?

I’m still searching for perfect Lelya scope below $1000……

Any thoughts about this one? Seems to be PERFECT!

There were some rumors that no videos have been released and the performance is unproven at this point as of several weeks ago.

Its optical @ 3x, past that and it goes digital, which means you’ll lose some visual clarity. I don’t think it’s the right fit for a lelya but I might be wrong.
I do plan on getting one to mount a rimfire for coons this winter. Hopefully it’ll be made available before season begins.

No it doesn’t have side focus.

^Does your Bushnell has side focus? I looked at a few of them but was never able to determine what the minimal focus distance was. It really boiled down to the fact I wanted at least 8-10x mag compact FFP scope and the options were narrow unless you shelled out for a March.

haha, maybe you are right.

I also ordered the Bushnell ar 223 Piter has now. The glass is very good. I don’t know why Piter is looking for a new scope.

at 43 oz. The lelya would tip over 🙂

No wonder why I couldn’t find any videos showing its performance. But Day/night scope and 10.3″ lenght features are attractive, also recording videos. I’d like to give it a try.

I just got this scope however do not have a Lelya. Haven’t been able to do any test shooting but it’s a very popular scope outside of air gun use. Good features and optics in its price range (light weight, side focus, nice turrets, illumination, and fine reticle for air gun use). Only issue is based on the specs, it doesn’t focus less than 35 yds but from just messing around with it, at 2.5x I can see objects perfectly clear at much closer distances. Being a FFP scope the reticle at 2.5x is tiny (really fine) so in my opinion, you can take shots at less than 35 yds. My guess is down to 15 yds perhaps with a hold under (I wouldn’t zero it below 35 yds). At 10x, 100 yds shots is doable and is probably stretching the Lelya anyways. At higher magnification the reticle looks really nice. If you can find a shop and see this scope in person, I’d highly recommend doing so. It’s a very nice scope in this price range.

Not tactical but I am planning on using an Clearidge Ultra RM w/Mil-Dot on my Lelya http://www.clearidgeoptics.com/product-p/cle3370.htm Short, light and made in Japan quality. It also has finger adjustments.

If Leupold would offer their 3-9X33 EFR with Mil-Dot without having to go thru the custom shop I would go that route.

This guy says it goes down to 20y easily….

EDIT: in replay post #15 the guy says it’s easily usable down to 5 yards at 2.5x

this scope has a parallax starting from 35 mtr ,,,i think it is not a suitable choice for Lelya,,,
