I doubt there’s much worry about wear on the side plate as it’s not doing anything. For me it’s about the look of it more than anything. I do agree it needs to be metal though.
Would be nice if the whole arm (except the steel link bar) was alloy. The fact there are steel pivot pins and sleeves should mean wear won’t be an issue but plastic isn’t the best choice.
I’m a little surprised the guy here in the U.K. That had one didn’t mention it was plastic when I asked him what it was like.
For me I don’t think there’s any sense in getting the arm remade in alloy as it works and I don’t foresee any issues with the arm itself. The arm is also visually ok from the outside. Only way I can see a failure with that is if you dropped it with the arm open and it landed on it. It’s just the plate that lets it down and I’ll get that sorted.
It does totally transform the character of the gun and has already been much nicer to use in a night time rabbit session. So nice being able to smoothly and quietly load the gun without the horrible metal on metal clunking and rubbing of the original bolt running along the steel side plate groove. Not something you notice too much in the daytime but in the dead of night while trying to remain covert the standard cocking is not good.
I really have no idea why evgeny didn’t create the original cocking like it. Whenever I see posts on forums or Facebook from people enquiringly about “what gun to buy” the only negative people ever roll out about the Vulcan is the rough or clunky or noisy cocking action. I think a side lever on the Vulcan makes it almost the perfect bullpup. Just needs a better magazine system to be perfection.
Now that I know that this mod is made in a plastic plate , I’am no longer interested until it can be made with an aluminium plate
which will not only make the gun look more like it should look originally but also so the chance of this mod working without any
ware and tear on the plate over the the life of this mod . From the function use what I have seen of this mod I’m impressed , but
the cheap use of plastic for a plate for me really kills the mod and I can not and will not modify my Vulcan with this mod using a
cheap plastic plate . Charge a little more and use an aluminium plate for your mod .

Any thoughts on making them in alloy?
If sticking with plastic, I would get rid of the VULCAN logo and other writing on the side plate too, no need for it when the other side has the logo. This would simplify manufacturing for you and look much cleaner too.
One thing I might look at is removing the rear spring on the pellet probe. Only function issue I’ve come across is when fitting a new magazine you have to hold the lever back. With the original bolt it obviously holds itself on the side plate against that spring.
Still works very well though. Was a pleasure to use my gun today when I was shooting a full air fill to find max shots and FPS deviation.
We are working to achieve a better finish of the pieces.
Surprised it is plastic, but that also gives me encouragement that I can build similar out of aluminum using the limited tools I have available.
will it not destroy your magazine or rod on the last/empty?
lever seems fine, you can pour some colour into the Vulcan plastic holes I guess.,metal would be metal, 3d printers suck are for schoolboys

Operation is great and what the Vulcan should have been.
Finish is poor on my side plate.
Most of the item is 3D printed plastic (which I must admit I had no idea). Part of the lever, the end, pivot pin, pivot bushing and the bolt that screws to gun’s action are metal.
It does work great but I will be either refinishing my side plate or getting it made in alloy. The VULCAN logo and other writing looks bad and there’s printing detects.
I will address this but don’t expect a perfect item.
Overall I’m happy though as the positive action out weighs the work needed.
Wish it was all alloy though and knowing that it’s mostly 3D printed the price of £115 delivered to U.K. May have put me off if I knew.

Been thinking about this and really not sure how you’ve managed to make the probe action feel worse by doing this. Doesn’t make any sense at all really that a smooth transition would be worse than a harsh step.
This is all I did to mine and it got rid of that horrible transition.
