vulcan or wildcat ?
I have been saving for a while and i am getting close to the money i need for new gun, I have an Armada 22cal and after several mods and new barrel it shoots a little smaller than 1/2 groups at 55 yards with a 30 shot string 1005 to 985 fps on crony with JSB 14.35gr and 960 to 876 30 shot string with JSB18.13gr and with same 1/2 groups , I got this gun for a good price new in box and was overcome by the looks , ( matched my AR ) but as the saying goes judging a book by it’s cover, over all i like it but i want something with a little more range and lighter , this thing is heavy and to off hand shoot not good, My choices are down to two guns , The wildcat 25 or the vulcan 25, Please help i can only buy one more gun and it has taken me a long time to save this much for one . That said i find this whole thing to be something similar one finds at YouTube.
Hatsan people filming small groups shot with that Turkish POS “airgun” at very long distances. No one has ever witnessed the feat though – and lived to tell the tale.
A camera , scope cam whatever , isn’t a proof of … really anything. I ( still ) find these groupings unbelievable. To this date during my whole ( fabulous, manly and – of course – exciting ) life i’ve never witnessed such prowess from a PCP. Ever.
That doesn’t mean it hasn’t been done BUT i seriously doubt it’s ever been done with a WC and even with the Robotics used ( or claimed to be used ) i’d still like to live to the day i can witness resembling accuracy out of a PCP. That means i need to outlive The Uncle. Easily said than done though …

In my opinion a .25 caliber 1/2 MOA @ 100 yds outdoors is impossible unless you’re talking about a single shot grouping. A .25 pellet is 1/4″ diameter already. Not even a robot can stack pellets inside of 1/2″ @ 100 yds outdoors and we’re talking about 5-10 shot groupings? Once a pellet leaves a barrel, no 2 are identical and even the slightest skirt deformity will impact your groupings. Even if your pellet is off by 5-10 FPS it will open up your groupings @ 100 yds. Unless you have a scope cam video, no one will believe you.
A MOA at 100m, no wind , is what a good .25 should deliver – the gun itself. Farther than that and the groups WILL start to open up.

So what should you expect from a high end pcp in .25 to be capable of at 100? I would like it to be capable of moa with all shots in all Magazines until it drops off the reg, is that too much to ask?
I would imagine that 1/2 inch group was indoors. FYI there have been free dives to 400 feet, we know about these because their special. In Ted’s defense he is outdoors. I have not seen a person shoot 1/2 MOA outdoors with a pellet as of yet. I am of course talking about at least a 5 shot group. I shot 3 shots at about 1/2 MOA @ 100 yards outdoors on video seen here:

There have been several 1/2″ and even smaller groups from competitions and elsewhere. It took Ted half a year or more to get that 1″ group so they are not common with FXs. On my first outing with my .25 BSA I shot three 1″ groups 5 shot groups in a row at 100 yards. No, haven’t been able to repeat that.
Yes you can say that, no my shooting is good but not that good , i was only posting that the gun is accurate, i just use this as a way to sight in my guns eliminating error from my lack of skill, and i know that the gun is sighted in right, saves on pellets, air ,
So YOU aren’t actually shooting anything but instead act as an operator of a kind. That explaines a lot.

I am shooting off an old 500+lb welding table with gun locked in a caldwell leadsled using Hyskor trigger release , the sled is bolted to the table , with WC mounted in sled i can shoot round after round and the scope poi never changes, i use this with all my rifles , Now with larger cal rifles there is some movement due to recoil , the range i have is basically a tunnel cut through planted pines, very calm no wind out to 400 yards , shooting 5 shot groups no not all are 1/2 ” but most are,

He has half a point there : We’re pretty weird people here. That said we’re not stupid enough to believe all and whichever horrendous lies we’re fed with.

Steeldreams, to imbed a video you first have to use the “share” button found below the video right above the description. On a computer this opens a box, copy it. On a phone use the “copy to clipboard option”. After copying the code come to TAG and use the youtube button placing the “share” code between the brackets like you did. It is rather interesting that often it is not stated whether groups are ctc or end to end – in .25 there’s a 1/8″ difference. IIRC Yrrah shot some 1/2 groups at 100 yards outdoors and I consider him a rather reliable source. Anyway, pellets are not the way to proceed if ultimate long distance accuracy is the goal. Heck, I just bought a Hawke scope for my 10/22 and it’s reticle has aiming points for subsonic ammo up to 200M, when are we going to see that for airguns?
