9mm is a successful airgun caliber. why the ‘new’ caliber?
.38/.357 is the logical choice, as it is a long-established cast boolit caliber. 9mm is geared more towards jacketed. Same reason I feel .32 (.311-.314) is a better option than .308
The 201 “9mm” is reported to shoot .357 slugs better than .355-.356 more often than not from the reports I’ve seen.
Seeing how popular the Ed guns were I was thinking crossman would have gone for a stable market of .25 cal or less in a bullpup. Of course I could be wrong but I want one…
As for a bigbore yeah I’m interested buy then I heard the “e” word. Electronic? Hunter? Nope. Sorry. Maybe electronics in a bench rest gun or something for pest control with numerous shots.
A hunter. One shot right? I’m not going to take multiple shots on a hunt. No need for multiple shots. That only hurts airguns legally. And I think the people crying about legal issues are right to be worried. That is what I love about airguns and why I don’t shoot my bigbore powder burners anymore. Lots of rules.
Then there is the cost of ammo and the need for a scuba tank. Right now I’m fit enough to pump all of my current rifles.
I think I would just buy a DAQ anyway…
Suppose this is okay for hunters.. but for us plinkers this is a waist.. hopefully crosmans other pcp is a .22 or .177 that has more than 8 shots per fill.. :p

3-8 shots per fill at 100-250 fpe….the hype is becoming more realistic fast!

I’m hugely skeptical of the 1/2 ounce of shot at 1100fps claim, that’s 588fpe. While there are a number of .45 guns making 500+fpe, 588 from a smaller bore is a really big number. I don’t think an electronic valve means much for the top end power as flow/impulse is going to be more important than holding the valve open longer.
I think the mention of the huge power number without any suggestion that it comes at the expense of 10 full power shots is probably an intentional ommision. He says 10 full power shots or 20 reduced power shots about the .357 configuration and then moves on to other stats. I suspect that “full power” can be defined a number of ways as can “reduced.”
If the whole thing isn’t a hoax, I expect Crosman’s numbers to be far more conservative. I believe the electronic valve can be a real efficiency gain but it can’t make air flow faster. My guess is that “full power” with the .357 comes in at less than 200fpe if 10 shots are available. For the .410 config, I my guess si 420fpe max if 3 shots are on tap….

I have to wonder about Gaylord’s blog reveal. For a guy who has been tied to Crosman with the Disco and known to make a living spouting airgun news/trivia, why would Crosman let him know anything without an agreement to keep quiet until the official reveal?

I played with electronic paintball markers rain or shine and they work just fine in the woods.
The problem is not if it will work, it will the technology has been in use in paintball for a decade. The question is who will work on the boards when they are outdated and no longer supported. That is a problem
I for one don’t care for the electronics part. How’s that going to hold-up in our climate? I would hate to have the battery die right as I’m lining-up the shot.
It will be interesting. It is a computer controlled valve that gives as many as ten full power shots at velocity touted to be 1100 FPS or better?
Wow, I just ordered a 58 caliber air muzzle loader, not one of these and put half of everything I own on the market to pay for it.

Was thinking the same. I was really interested in it at 10-20 shots depending on power…. but 3-8… eh…not so much.
