While you’re waiting for your Matadors……..
I thought I would share with you how I coped waiting for my Matadors. It’s a loooong story with a lot to learn. I started this thread back in June 2011 while still waiting, – and oddly enough it became one of the most viewed threads on this forum.
This is how it started:
As it happens, I am the lucky owner of a serious harem of nice guns. And I frequently visit my summerplace on the coast down south in Norway, where weather is the only restriction to my shooting….
Summernights are nice and light with sunset around 22hrs….:
So yesterday I quit Oslo for a few weeks. Fed up with my loooongish waiting for ED and friends to deliver I took 11 members of my harem with me.
Here they are:
As some of you may know, I test and review guns for our Norwegian forum, and this time a comparison of springers is on the agenda….
So go ahead and name them, from left to right…….
And yes. There will be a more in depth test of Lelya 090 who has got new glasses for the occasion…….. 😉

@ Hoot: The stock is beautiful, and the metal finish is superb. It’s just my camera skills that are not up to standard…. 😳
That said, I am now back where I started this thread some 11 months back:
My summerhouse in early spring is probably the best “hide-out” I can find when shooting a lot is what I want. There’s nobody around, – and only the weather is the factor that worries me…. 😉
As I have now received my Matadors and also my Cricket, – I would think of it as appropriate to end this thread here and now and start a new one…
A close to 50.000 views speak for itself……….
EDguns certainly have a congregation of enthusiastic lunatics….

The stock seems fine to me, but the finish on that metal is leaving me less than breathless. It looks like it needs a good coat of truck bed liner to cover up what appears to be a third world finish. Is it just the photo?
How does the loading mechanism “feel”? Does it cycle smoothly? Is there a crisp letoff on the trigger’s second stage, or does it feel like pushing gravel across a cement pad?
I know it wasn’t cheap, and I’m kind of disappointed at what I see. If it’s mechanism is as smooth as warm butter, that could make up for a lot of visual faults.

Not wanting to spoil it for you but I definitely prefer the looks of the Edgun. Somehow the proportions of the Cricket seem all wrong to me 🙄 Nevertheless, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Made in the Czech republic, CZ has a large steel forging factory and, also create auto gears, internal aircraft metal parts, among other steel finishing facilities. I assume they make their own barrels.
They are reported to be quite accurate, but that is all I can find.

Its a hammer forged 12 groove barrel, and the AA 200 is a re-labeled CZ 200.

There are a lot of rim fire match guns that use CZ barrels.. It’s well know in that world though.. I think 🙂
