To anyone that has a Jack Haley .257!!
What bullet molds are you using, if you’re casting your own? his specs are for 80-90 grains, but the only molds I’ve been able to find are for 50-55 grains, or a 64 grain mold. I need some guidance before I take the plunge on a Jack Haley rifle- Mind you, I don’t want to buy pre-cast bullets, I want to cast my own. My dad’s been clearing out the basement and found about 12-15 years worth of scrounged lead… so I’ve got some castin to do!!! 😈

Ok fellas i just got a new mold in for the 257. Its a 100grn spitzer. I know ppl dont lihe them for hunting but they might prove well for target shooting at those long distances. Pics to come soon.
I bought my first Drozd a few years back, it was the Yellow Bubble bee. I shot it so darn much and the power amazed me. But I really got tired of loading those magazines and messing with those darn 12 gram co2 cartirdges. The Bubble Bee co2 set up had a annoying tendency to not allow about 1/2 to 2/3 rds of the cartirdges fit in the magazine
But this does away with the co2 all together and 900 rounds on tap is intoxicating.
Like I said I was hoping the 18650 batteries would drop in, but no luck. I have about 30 or 40 of the little CR batteries and nothing else to use them in but the flashlights, I keep them for end of world emergencies so I don’t want to use them up in the BB gun.
It does keep the velocity down with the AA’s but it is still more powerful than the Bumble bee was.

RC, I have been so tempted by those Drozd Blackbirds with a longer barrel and air, probably like your’s is set up.
Yes it is the .72, I’ve paid for it, just waiting for it to show up. I also have the other 4 sizes on order. .58, .45, .38, and .308. I got moved up in line for the .72 because the guy who ordered it lost his job. He is the one that ordered it with the 42″ barrel. I like long barrels, so when it was offered, I took it. That means that the others will have longer barrels also, go down about 1.5 to 2″ per size. They will have consecutive SN’s and should make a nice set. How many shots do you get with that, it is the 72 correct?
I have the Ranger 45 and love it.
I got the Drozd this afternoon, got it up and running as it was getting dark, the thing sparks when the BB hit gravel. I was hoping the batteries from my flashlights would fit, they are the 3.7 protected cells, but I will probsbly have to grind the battery box out.
Tethered to the Pygmy and having the 900 rd mag is bitchin, but a little akward, may need to order the 13 ci HPA tank and reg tomorrow.

It comes standard with 22″. I was just checking my options. If I don’t like it I will make what ever size I want once I get the gun.
I want the barrel to go past the end enough for a LCD that will slide down the barrel so it can be 10″ or so and half will be on the barrel instead of all past the end.
So if you wanted a longer air tube, it would be necessary to pay for two? About an extra $30-$40? I have an XP Quigley with a 42″ barrel due to show up any time now, the air tube is supposed to be as long as practical. I guess I just like the looks of a long air tube plus the extra shots.

If I do hunt with mine, it will be as a coyote calling gun, 3 shots are more than enough.
From the bench, where 99% of my shooting will be, it is a mute point as it will get more shots per fill than I need due to three cascaded, regulated 66 cf scba tanks it will be tethered to.

If your talking air tubes, while the barrel can be purchased longer and the airtube does not, meaning I think Jack’s air tubes only go so far.

Oh I know. That’s why I inquired about it. He won’t make it any longer than 26″ because he gets his material in 48″ lengths and needs to get 2 guns out of a piece.
Doesn’t mean I won’t make it longer or out of titanium once I get it. My goal is to get more shots.
Remember the longer the air tube, the tighter the group. With more air available, there will less pressure drop between shots, thus less vertical stringing. Regards, Tom
I talked to them yesterday. Inquiring about air tube length to barrel length. Still haven’t decided on barrel length. Think it’s going to be 32″ barrel with 24″ or 26″ air tube.
Going to email Reba and see if I can get a guesstimate.
I always find it better to keep in contact with them Doug. Perhaps that is how I got back in front of you. 😆

If I would have put my name on the list when I first called I would have had mine in September.
When Charlie said he put his name on the list I desided to get one also. I called and said put my name on the list and told Reda to make sure I get bumped in front of Charlie.
Well I guess it didn’t work because he’s getting his soon and I’m not sure when I get mine. Sometime in December I hope.
But that’s ok I have my condor .257.
You know I’m going to take mine and tinker with it 😀
Will see what I can do to get more shots and more power 😈
