pretty sure i am hitting the shroud!!!!!!
so i went to the 100 yard range last week and got a 6 in group, i choked it up to be the high winds and a dirty barrel so i cleaned the barrel and yes it was really dirty! 😯
but after that i brought it inside to my 15.5 yard range inside my house lol and i am getting 1 inch groups with 12 shots. smoe times they will hit the same hole but for the most part i am shooting 1 inch size grouns at almost 16 yds. these size groups have been consistant every time i shot this gun which is almost 350 rounds. and dont think that this is me because the same day i went to the 100 yard range shooting 6inch groups with the cricket i shot a 1 1/2 in group with my 10/22 with cheap bulk federal ammo.
i have been paying very close attention to these marks wiping them everytime i shot and they have always been there after shooting and now it looks like there might be a gauge developing.
how do i fix this??????? i am extremely frustrated with the accuracy of my gun. next time i am going to shoot with out the shroud and see how my accuracy is. i am also adjusting my scope alot because it seems like my POI is changing alot by about a 1/2 an inch here and there at 16 yards.
would lapping the barrel help center my shots in the shroud?
also i carefully check all of my pellets before loading them into my cricket.

Today I ported my valve, thinned my valve stem from .117 to .105 , and barely rounded the edge on the valve seal. My valve spring retainer is set to .230 from top of threads, my regulator is set using Ernests 1/16 pin method probably 115 bar and my hammer spring is all the way in. I will soon let you know what my fps is but before the mods it was at 908.
Here is a five shot group with the exception of the flier (my fault) at 39 yards. It was dark and I was not shooting so good but I am happy with my accuracy with my new shroud.
In the ’70’s we didn’t dare go out in the public in general with our uni’s on… I graduated from USMMA in ’75 n served (almost in secret it seemed) in the reserves… it was not a good time for the military back then. I sure am glad it is better now (at least for the most part). I can say however, IF I’d still been in when this a-hole we got in our White House took power, I’d have resigned my commission. No way would I serve under him. Thank you once again for stepping up sir!

That’s OK Chad they probably voted for Obama anyways and already hate the military. But you can bet none of them served!

on wed. last week i recieved the most exciting news! donny messaged me and said an anonymous member from this form had ordered a shroud and LDC for me as a thanks for my service and to help with my clipping issue. i seriously almost cried it is rare that someone thanks military members these days because we get such a bad rep.
to whom ever it was! my family and i thankyou for such a kind gesture!
i recieved it today thankyou also donny for completing it so quickly even after having a set back lol.

To be honest it was pretty windy and I really could not test the full accuracy potential of the gun I went to shot and do some adjustments. And it wasnt just windy it was gusty so it was very hard to predict when to shoot, But I had fun and did much better then I thought I would. :biggrinn:

Did you try Kings at 920ish ?
908 fps, doesn’t look like it’s the right target speed for your gun/barrel ?
Kings typical best accuracy’s is at any where in between 880-950 fps.

Did you try different pellets?
Another thing I you might want to check is to see if you get consistent speeds. Good groups need to have the same speed or very close. 2 fps max to get any good groups at 100 yards. I wouldn’t jump into the 100 yard test just yet.
I was actually abel to use a chrono yesterday and adjusted my hammer spring to 908 and got a consecutive 908 3 times in a row.

Right now I am looking for the best shot count at the optimal speed for accuracy. Which I have heard is around 910 fps give or take 20 fps. I still need to check accuracy at the range with an with out shroud. But as of right now it is not changing my POI. I just need to get to a more controled environment with a chrono
