.25 Rifle build
I’ve decided to build a .25 rifle based around the Buckley bottle gun, mainly since I had a bottle left over from my talon days.
This is going to be my rock chuck gun, so power and accuracy are primary goals, hoping to push some of the mr hollowpoint pills to good velocity.
shooting will be done from rock jacks at ranges from 40 to 75+ yards.
I ordered a .25 LW barrel from tim1 and some alum. from online metals
I intend to shroud it ala marauder and hope to keep the noise down to a reasonable level
got a start on the receiver today, this will probably take way to long to complete (20 month old daughter, work, wife, starting school again, blah blah) but I will document it here as I make progress.

in this state of disassemble I was able to move it myself, the base-column being the hardest part to move, I really didn’t want to remove the column.
Watch that cover, them edges are sharp as all hell.
It’s a heavy bastard too, I can just get it on the stand myself. Helps if you break it down into two parts.

I finally bought a good tool for tramming my mill, spent a couple hours in the shop cleaning up and tramming the mill, well it is a cheap chinese mill…..
got the left-right tramming done with the table in the center, ran the table to the left then right – and it was off – seems the table isn’t flat. 😳
Not a big surprise… can’t wait for my G0704 to get here…
I hadn’t even seen a PCP rifle i real life when i started my first build… but i had both HM Buckley books! I think everything you need to pull off a build is included in those books. All my builds are based on mr Buckley’s ideas, i just altered the layout a bit.

Unfortunately there isn’t a lot out there on this topic, that’s why I’m happy to support Mr. Buckley’s effort.
Are his books perfect? Hell no, but they are a great starting point to get you going and making educated decisions.
It’s also cheaper than buying a number of different guns and taking them apart 😯
Which is the standard answer you get from some of the “experts”
