100 YARD .25 CALIBRE CONTEST!!

Today, after mowing my Ma’s lawns, and then having to use the strimmer(I think you guys call them weed whackers?) to clear 4ft X 300ft corridor, in absoultely appaling side winds ranging from about 5mph to 30mph, I managed this effort at 100 yards……
I was shooting prone, but was very wobbly with no back support.
This rig will without doubt shoot a sub 1″ group, probably tighter than that, but I need a good rest and some calm weather…
I only shot 3 five round groups ‘cos the wind was so high, this was the best..
Will be back to my Ma’s farm on Thurs so should hopefully have some better conditions to shoot in.

a bag 3/4 full of buckwheat bean shells for a front rest… It works a lot
like a sand bag but you can squeeze the bag to make the elevation go
up, release the tension on the bag and make the elevation go down….
Still breezy but what the heck… It goes calm for a second then picks
back up…. This evening should be nice and calm….Better get some sand
bags Pabs… This thing is wanting to shoot some tight groups…. It is
running 917FPS last I checked…. More to come…. I’ll use a clean target
next time… I was not expecting much with the wind blowing….

At 100 yards I’ve still got 36 odd fpe on flesh. Enough for most stuff.
And it bucks the wind real good….

Dam .25 ‘s are expensive, my cheap ass is still using .22 crossman H.points’s for the most part, and saving the jsb’s and other pellets for later. 22 crossmans 1/2 the cost of 22 jsb, .25 jsb 2x the cost of 22 jsb.

I made a search for .25 condor stuff and couldnt find much. so how good is the condor in .25 .?
This is the first real test of the .25 really. We’ve had them for a while, but never put down any solid results. Mam’ and ‘goat have just joined the party after getting calibre envy, what with their girly .22 pips and all….. Now they have become real men and joined the Quarter Calibre Club.
They are still giddy from the new power levels and as such their group claims should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Ergo I am the best.
I think this should be open to all airguns. We’ll make the actual contest between airforce guns, since they will be able to use the cocking knob reward.
But we can compare equal guns, and also see how different ones compare to each other.
So I say anyone who shoots 100 yard groups with whatever airgun they have should put it here, then we can compare all of them. Contests can be between specific types or whatever. But somewhere to compare the whole lot of guns would be nice.
And if it gets big enough we can make it a sticky or something. That way all the people that come and ask “how accurate is this compared to that” can look here.

We need rules:
100 yards (duh) just measure it as well as you can.
5 shot groups. (?)
Must post picture of gun and groups with a ruler (or something to show size) beside groups. (because we want to see both, and you can’t just tell us the group size)
Post specs of the gun if they are different than stock.

We don’t need no stinkin rules….. Shoot 5 shots from a .25cal pellet gun
at 100yds and post the results….
I know Pabs didn’t mention that but this is a spin off from another
thread…. Now I am not saying that you can not post .22cal 5 shot groups
if you would like Lama, it just won’t win. We all have .22cals that will Sub
1″ at 100yds… It is sort of a test of the shooter and the JSB Kings to see
if they will group sub 1″ and at what speeds… So chrony info for the gun
you are shooting would be of much interest.

Pabs it was shrinking by 0.776″ with each group… Group #4 would
have been 0.084″ 😯 if had kept going….lol… Ok, maybe not….
