.25 slugs
On the yellow forum in the classified section there is a guy selling .25 slugs 73 grain and 56 grain. my question is how fast do you think that we could push them down the barrel of a Condor. he tested them in a Sumatra carbine. I would post the link but I dont know how. The wife is in France 🙁 and took the brains with her. 😳

Jerry that is an awesome product and service you are offering. Just what I want to see in a .25 heavy, and so many weights to choose from is ideal (no pun intended LOL!).

Ya’ll should slug your bores and try these out, and let Jerry know what you think. Try to kill something with them, too, and compare the wound channel to what you get from your other pellet. I am thinking they will be far superior, and have more potential for maximum wound channels than anything I am aware of.
Tofazfou, any chance you could videotape an animal eating one, and pay particular attention to the wound channel?

I should have known that when I posted results for the Sumatra Carbine with the modified barrel word would spread. I offered two versions of these slugs for that gun make because I know they can shoot, especially if the barrel is trimmed.
For the Condor, we’re really still in testing though I won’t turn away any orders. Tofazfou is one of my test guys and his numbers using early unsized slugs show significant gains in power. If a 900 FPS velocity isn’t too “loopy” for you to correct for, you can see 100 FPE easy. The sized slugs for Tofazfou to go and test for fit and accuracy have not made it to him yet so I’m not making any promises for performance of any of the slugs through the LW barrel. The problems I’m dealing with here are the lack of a proper chamber for loading and the choke designed to work on pellets not solid slugs with drive bands. Right now, I’m able to size to .251-.253. Further testing might show that we need to get to .250…
If you’re interested in being an early adopter, I’d suggest the .251 size and at least the 6 ring length (53-55gr). We can make this style in several sizes: 4 ring 36gr, 5 ring 43gr, 6 ring 55gr, 7 ring 63gr, 8 ring 72gr and 9 ring 79-80gr.

Jerry’s slugs appear to be bad-ass, but not (to me, anyways) so much because of the real heavy weight, but for the frontal area of those slugs. The wound channels those slugs would produce on game will put a 42EJ’s to shame, and would sure knock the snot out of a raccoon proper!
Rob Jerry has slugs in 251,252 and 253 do you know witch would work best in Lother barrels. Or is it just best to get all three and try them all. ❓
I’ve dealt with Jerry recently on slugs and he is a stand up guy. I’d like to give these a go in my bird… will have to get with him regarding.

Well, since jerry posted about them then i will now. Let me b the first to tell you….THEY DON’T TUMBLE at all. Not even close. At 50 yrds all holes with all weights of pellets were clean as if i was using WADCUTTERS. With the 62.3 grainers, i was getting 109 FPE with my Condor.
I always have seen people posting about HEAVIER slugs…..WELL HERE THEY ARE.
I could get 86fpe with 42gr’s so I dont really see that much point in these.

It looks like you would need to do 786 fps to get 100 fpe out of them. His groups looked good. Just not sure if Lizzy can get that much lead going that fast 🙄
He’s getting 89FPE with the 73 grainers, thats about 740FPS. I figure a modded condor might do 800.
Well, I’ve got a .25 barrel on the way for my Condor. I thought about trying some of those 73 grainers. They look so long I don’t know how they’d stabilize. Also there would be no long term supply so if I decided I wanted to shoot them all the time I’d just be SOL.

I hadnt seen anyone mention 900fps in this thread.. just 730.. and to me, 730 for 89 fpe isnt worth it to switch from a 42gr going 86 fpe with a flatter trajectory
Now that more people have “piped” in I see that they do a bit better than 730….. just going by what was posted.
A rather long oblong wadcutter not tumbling… well I’m happy to hear that.
