Here are some pics of the barrel. I’m in suburbia so I haven’t had the chance to shoot it yet. I also forgot to measure the length and OD of the barrel. Overall length of my Short is 23.5″. I had thought the specs was 23″. The dimple on the side doesn’t align to the TP. There’s another dimple opposite of the TP where the grub screw goes in. I pushed 2 pellets through and it does seem to be choked. The pellet pics are kinda hard to see though. The test target that came with the gun shows pretty good grouping but doesn’t specify the distance. When removing the barrel, I did notice the barrel band screws were very loose as was the 2 screws holding the stock in place. No other visible markings on the barrel besides from that one dimple.

OK, an update, some good news and some advice, please.
First, Dman, when I tried to cock the gun while it was laying on it’s side, the whole action moved. When I removed the stock I found all those bolts for the scope rail structure to be loose. Next, I loosened up the barrel-retention grub, and aligned the “dimple” to the 12 o’clock position (by this time I had removed the shroud), then I re-tightened everything. The barrel grub screw no longer fits flush into the action, and I suspect the dimple is irrelevant as far as alignment goes.
Now, two points: a) with the scope-rail bolts tightened, the action is now firm in place and the gun is shooting tiny 12-group holes. As I can recall, only the Hummingbird made such tight groups in my basement (then my FX Timberwolf, then my Edgun R3M). The cocking is now functioning correctly.
b) the poer seems down with the grub dimple at the 12 o’clock position. It’s so anemic now that I was making gross scope adjustments. Should I return it to the 7 position? What’s going on with that?
Sorry I haven’t taken any photos yet. I wanted to report this update first. I’ll have to update Petr then run out for a while. If I see pictures are still requested,I’ll take some then. I’d still like to know why the oal is over an inch beyond published figures, though.

Please educate me..

The dimple is from where the site mounts on a cz200.
So when someone machined that barrel that dimple should be at 12 o’clock instead looks like they just did it where ever.
I don’t know the exact diameter where it steps into the breech I’d have to measure .
Also I’d be willing to put money on it that they threaded the barrel like the STD.
The shorty has a long alignment section and the threads are set back about .5 inch or so…
The ldc gets clamped by the front mount
If the dimpled barrel is actually 15mm, doesn’t it step down to 14mm so it can enter the breech block? If that is true, then the dimple @ 7 o’clock has nothing to do with the transfer port being properly aligned, right?? A dimple opposite the transfer port accepts the barrel alignment grub screw???
Please educate me..
Gabe
OK where’s tfm? (the ******* manual?)
Dman is right, you need to index the barrel correctly to line up the dimple in the midline of the breech.
That might be the reason your shorty is an inch longer…
I don’t understand how the dealer installed the barrel this way, and how could they test the accuracy of the gun in this way??????????????
As Greg said, look carefully on the barrel to see if it is labeled “Germany,” and the OD should be 15″ if it is not a Germany/Korean barrel.
You can also see if there are sleeves on the barrel clamp to hold the barrel, indicating the Germany/Korean barrel.
Let us know.
If the transfer port hole on the barrel is not lined up correctly there will be problems
I loaded some AA 16 grain pellets, using the installed single-shot tray and zeroed my scope for indoor shooting (8.5 yards). My initial thoughts were a) “is that a hole for a grub screw on the barrel?” it’s located midway between the scope rail supports, and pointing to the 7-o’clock position. b) the trigger seemed a bit “gritty” in the second stage. But the gun was making one neat little hole. So I started loading one magazine, topped the gun off again, and started shooting. Suddenly it didn’t like the AA pellets so much. I could put pellet on top of pellet, making a tiny hole after four shots. Then the group would open up. WIDE. I tried the other magazine. Same thing. Now JSB 18 grains. One hole for a couple of shots, then a widening of the group. OK, try the 13.43 grain JSB RS pellets. Same song with these. By the end of the 3rd magazine, the gun started to miss catching the sear and would not cock consistently. To Rowe’s tutorial. I decreased the first stage a bit and tried cocking the gun. This worked for about three attempts to cock it, and firing three shots. Now I see here that the hole for a set screw is not a set screw hole but an alignment mark. As I said, mine is pointing at 7 o’clock. :sadn:
There is 0.875″ (7/8″) of barrel showing behind the shroud. The rifle’s OAL is 23.25″
Of course I’ve shot a text off to Petr, about 40 minutes ago (it’s 3:43:pm est here now). Deja Vu all over again?
Darryl
PS any tips would be appreciated. not the “told-ja-so” stuff, but a little advice.
darryl please share some pictures…
If the sear isn’t catching…. id check to make sure the HST isn’t to far in.
please post pics of the muzzle on your gun ( you may have to loosen that front mount to unscrew it.)
As far as the accuracy goes…. your gonna have to pop the barrel out and make sure there isn’t a burr on the TPORT…
My Short showed up at 9:22:am this Saturday morning. I had to leave almost immediately to run some errands. I got back around 2:pm.

Elmer, good to see your shorty has arrived. Congrats… Double Congrats if it is a “Cz” or “CZ” barrel. LOL

Jaime I know what does mean wtf  I thought combination of barrel what that guy received. It’s shame put those barrels into very good guns like mutants are.
Wtf = what the fuck
wow wtf what is this for combination? 😯
Sarcasm dman.
i feel you
Gabe
That’s bullshit. This makes me ill.
The dam barrel is indexed with dimples upright.
Unscrew the shroud off the barrel and snap some pics please
Guess your shorty is no longer a shorty. Wtf

dimple back at 7, power restored. Gun functions fine. It still has a longer OAL, and the dimple is still there looking like a reverse pimple. No excuse to have guns out (by Steve Smith…formerly of WWAG?) with loose bolts. Make these go away and I may have a fine sample. Oh, and a warranty card and a manual would be nice too. Things that don’t make a bargain price seem like much of a bargain. 🙁
Darryl
btw, the wife thinks it’s a neat looking gun.
