Q:

Best value Leshiy scopes?

Could we make a top 3 or top 5 list of the most suitable and best “bang for your Buck” scopes to put on a Leshiy? It seems you are able to buy it now so surely the people who do must have ideas on scopes?

My priorities would be:
1. Weight
2. Turrets
3. Glass
4. Reticle

Turrets must be Good because switching caliber will mean dialing them turrets. Weight is obvious. Good glass is always nice and a reticle suitable for a airgun. Also not everyone can afford a March 1-10 😉

Just a photoshop from a Russian forum.
The Leshiy is not for everyone and Im sure the market wont be a big as the Matador market but it has a niche for sure.

Now that would be telling 🙂

500cc cf Leshiy stock anyone?

Brother Phil,,,

i do agree with you,,, is it your Leshiy or just a Photoshop?

i know all the concepts that pushed Ed to make the small leshiy … i agree with him totally,,, but what makes me to not buy it for myself is, , since im a hunter actually, i like a gun for hunting only and as a main gun hunting not 2nd gun, and i like a gun that able to push the 18.1gr pellets at least 888 FPS as my minimum velocity ,,, if leshiy has only this ability i wouldn’t had any doubt to order a bunch of them,,, :sadn:

Is it just me or does the extended bit for the longer barrel have a different finish? Why not the same? It looks more gloss and the gun looks matte

Now that would be telling 🙂

Where are you finding all these nice pics, russian forums?

The main reason I want the 6x (although a little heavy) is for its smaller over all size. The rail on the Leshiy is positioned quite far forward which may need single piece AR15 type rings on a larger scope to bring the eye relief back closer to your eye.

Personally I want to avoid this and keep the scope no longer than the rear of the gun so when its folded it doesnt add to the over all length of the compact little Leshiy.

Picture this one folded:

To fit a large scope, longer barrels, multishot kit, twin tubes etc etc just kills the concept of this fun little pcp. The whole concept of the Leshiy is a light weight compact little poachers gun that can be tucked away inconspicuously. I firmly believe if you intend to shoot long range and need lots of shots per fill just buy the Matador instead.

I will be getting a leshiy.

Based on the Eds videos, it looks like this little gun can shoot with accuracy at distances of 50 yards and beyond.

Any thoughts on a scope with plus 6 magnification? Perhaps a clearidge 3-9x or Similar model like a leopold?

I plan on using mine to hunt quail, dove and rabbit. I’m thinking that after my prey discover that they are being hunted, they may not be as comfortable as before. I may need to take shots at longer distances as result. So maybe getting a slightly larger and more powerful scope may be my best bet. I may need two scopes….IDK? It’s hard to tell without having the leshiy on hand. What I know for sure is I need a short, concealable package which can get the job done iykwim.

Thanks Keyser!

Please let us know your impressions….

I will have one of those today. I doubt it is a true 1X. When I was at SHOT last year, my shooting partner was looking at scopes for dangerous game. When viewing different brands the scopes, we could clearly see only the Kahles had a true 1X

Wingmaster,

do you know if those scopes are true 1x ?

Nah net pic

Is that you Holding the scope? Can you put it on a scale

Same here.

But that Vector scope, the reason I asked miksatx to weigh it for me is this video, he says 2 minuters in that the scope weigh a crazy 728 grams!!!! With flip ups and mounts include.

Shes a heavy little unit alright, its 35mm tube holds a lot of glass, 14 lenses, German made glass too I believe.

The chinese factory making these for vector also make one for the Russian brand name Kandar that has lower profile turrets and is a touch lighter.
Youd wana ditch those awful “tactical” rings for some lighter ones too

Heres the same scope made as a “no name” brand but it has a more usable mildot reticle

Ive spent two days hunting the globe for a suitable compact scope with a suitsble reticle and have come to the conclusion none exist yet. Yet? Ed?

I can see why Ed fitted that little chinese mildot compact scope on his prototype.. it really is the only micro compact milldot scope out there!

Im still quite fond of the vector 35mm tube compact but it is over half a kg in wieght which is a lot to add to the light weight Leshiy IMO.

It looks like Ill be fitting the little lupy or 4x burris until Ed helps us out.
