Q:

Best value Leshiy scopes?

Could we make a top 3 or top 5 list of the most suitable and best “bang for your Buck” scopes to put on a Leshiy? It seems you are able to buy it now so surely the people who do must have ideas on scopes?

My priorities would be:
1. Weight
2. Turrets
3. Glass
4. Reticle

Turrets must be Good because switching caliber will mean dialing them turrets. Weight is obvious. Good glass is always nice and a reticle suitable for a airgun. Also not everyone can afford a March 1-10 😉

Ive spent two days hunting the globe for a suitable compact scope with a suitsble reticle and have come to the conclusion none exist yet. Yet? Ed?

I can see why Ed fitted that little chinese mildot compact scope on his prototype.. it really is the only micro compact milldot scope out there!

Im still quite fond of the vector 35mm tube compact but it is over half a kg in wieght which is a lot to add to the light weight Leshiy IMO.

It looks like Ill be fitting the little lupy or 4x burris until Ed helps us out.

Yes I think it’s too big. When Ed makes the Leshiy scope it will start a whole new line of scopes not currently offered at a reasonable price.

When hunting pigs at night with thermal and /or NV add-ons it is common to run out of rail space with a standard size scope. The future of tactical scopes will include a more compact design. Eds Leshiy scope if equipped with the right features ( MIL dot, MIL turrets compact 5x or 6x magnification side parallax if needed ) this will be a very popular scope with my tactical rifle buddies.

This post was for Ed 🙂

Looking forward to that video Keyser. Isn’t that Vortex 2,5-10×32 as Long as the barrel? About 35cm?

My plan is to either use the Vortex 2.5-10X32 (although I think it’s too long) the bug buster or the Vector scope I just bought. I will mount all these scopes on video and let the viewer see what is right for their gun. I know everyone is thinking this is just going to be a 35-meter gun. I thought that too based on Ed’s first videos. After watching the last accuracy video, I am confident the Leshiy can be shot out to 100 meters. (at least I am going to try).

I need this little gun for some pest control jobs I do on the side. There are very populated areas that are overrun with ground squirrels. A concealable gun like this Leshiy will be perfect.

Depending on what range you want to max out at but lets say 50 yds. For me personally, if it’s a .25 cal Leshiy maybe a 1-4x AR scope with a decent reticle is doable if you’re shooting say a bird/squirrel at center mass. If you’re using a .177 or .22 and need more precise aim, I’d opt for at least 1-6x. Going from 4x to 6x would be a big benefit. 1-8x AR scope would be awesome but once you go to 6x on up, they can get crazy expensive.

So wait for the edscope then?

Cricket the problem with all thesem1-4X small scopes (I own a bunch of ARs with these types of scopes) is they were designed for the AR. The battlefield effective range for an AR is about 300-400 meters. These scopes are intended for human-sized targets and CQB work. Drop the scope to 1x with a red dot and you have no need for a 3X magnifier on your Aimpoint. These are battle scopes. What we really need is a varmint scope designed like a battle scope.

I’m really interested in this scope. Vortex Viper PST 1-4×24

Wingman I found that scope…email sent

Could you do me a favour and put it on a scale when it arrives? With mounts and flip ups, it never seems to come close to the advertised weight

Only have a set of spring scales I use for postage. That ought to get close.

Wingman we are looking at the same scopes. I almost bought that vector scope last night. They make another reticle that is no longer availible. It’s a standard Mrad reticle. I’ll email Igor from Strelok and see if he can add that vector reticle. This will hold me over until Ed makes the new scope.

Hint Hint ED :biggrinn:

Id really love to find one of those 35mm tube vectors with the older Mrad reticle.. maybe somewhere still has old stock or even second hand? Can anyone hook a brother up?

Here’s a few others Ive looked at, most of them are let down by their reticles:

Does anyone have the measurement from the top of the rail to the top of the moderator?

5mm according to Ed in a post on his forum.

Thank you!! It just looked like more than that to me?
