You may want to put a disclaimer that a hand pump may not work in you ad in the For Sale section…
I’ll be attempting a hand pump fill on mine… I’ll let you know how it goes.
😉
The instruction where the first I had ever done; my insurance company made me produce instructions that was the only way they would cover the valves no insurance no valves. I didn’t get to detailed into them I assumed anyone that was buying them had tinkered with the valve enough to understand what to do, did the original valve’s Sean was selling come with instructions?
so by your own admission these ‘instructions’ are only very basic CYA to satisfy some suits. Did you not assemble Peter’s valve and tank rendering these ‘instructions’ useless? It would be fair to assume you checked the tank with valve installed for leaks?
I did assemble his tank but I didn’t fill his tank to check for leaks, I haven’t had any problems with the valves seating at all, but I guess most are using their scuba tanks to fill them and not hand pumps. And for the instructions they are basic because it’s a basic design and they were the first instructions I have ever made.
And for anyone to make anything in the US without liability insurance is plain (STUPID); I don’t know how it works in your country, but here in America everyone is sue happy and I refuse to lose everything I work so hard for in one lawsuit thus the reason for the insurance.
When i recieved my Brad/Blod valve, i installed and it worked perfectly, for two tanks of air, then the stem broke at the end of the threads for the tophat. This was a metallurgical defect as far as i could tell, no shotty workmanship here. I sent brad a pic of the carnage, and i had a new one in my hand a few days later. He did everything he could to help me out, including sending me a new valve before he recieved the returned valve.
These are not drop in replacement valves, although close, there is a learning curve as these are very different than AF valves. This is a modification to your gun, if you are not knowledgable enough to tinker with it, or do not want to pay to send it to a tuner, this is not the mod for you. If you sell something to someone, does your life go on hold to answer questions at any time they feel they need an answer? My dealings with brad, on more than one occasion, have been more than satisfactory, and any of my questions were answered in a timely manner.
Clean it and wet both faces with a little silicon grease. That sometimes helps sealing it long enough to put the dryfire thing to the test

😆 😆 i appreciate your help but half of the things you said I can barely understand or do…Im a newb when it comes to valves. this is why i had him istalled the valve 😆 to avoid problems

I see your point assuming that i would know how to tinker the valve and fix it…but i don’t that’s is why Im asking for help, not trying to cause any stir up here.
If it doesn’t leak too fast, get some air in it, whip it off and onto the rifle and dry fire a few. This will sort it out. (unless something is busted)
i have tried doing this already…but i will try again…for now the .22 will have to take care of the rodents 😀

My website is listed in every posting I make next to my email link. I thought if anyone had a problem they would of called me so I could walk them threw the prose’s. I figured I would post the instructions in the quick reference section so if anyone lost there instructions they could access them.

no response? its more like being ignored…tell you the truth i wished there was a 30 day money back guaranteed 😆 😆 😆
Peter
For one I didn’t ignore you; and the instructions where in the box.
I have a full time job and currently work 14 hours a days 6 days a week; the air rifle stuff is a side (hobby) for me not a full time job, and believe me the way the valves sell I would of be out of business by now, a little hard to pay for a $40,000.00 dollar lathe making these parts.
I did email you a copy of the instructions, yes it took a day to get them to you but again I run my own business and average 15-25 customers a day, and also have to get all the gunsmithing and refinishing done as well so sorry if you thought I did this in my garage but I do have a huge over head at the shop and I am currently 2 months backlogged with work.
I have been taking care of the guys on this forum and not making them weight in line like my other customers; by the way how long did it take for your tank to get back to you if I remember a little over a week including shipping, you do realize if you where like any of my other customers you wouldn’t of seen that tank for around (2 Months)?
if I would of know you were using a hand pump I would of charged it for you to seat the delrin seal but this is the first problem I have ever heard of with the seal, I don’t believe any other people that bought this valve are using hand pumps I might be wrong but you might want to think of using a scuba tank to fill your tanks believe me you will fall in love once you get a scuba tank to use, I couldn’t even imagine using a hand pump to fill these tanks.
I almost forgot to add this, here is the tracking number threw USPS 0309 0330 0001 8449 0907, he received the tank on the 10th and I emailed him the instructions on the 11th I thought I did it fast enough i guess not; Peter you are acting like it took a week for me to respond.
Brad, those instructions are worthless when sent with an assembled tank and valve.
filling a leaking tank makes no difference whether pump or tank. If the stem seal leaks it leaks.
I’m betting Peter was looknig for instructions of how to seat the valve, break in, leaks, filling issues. Your instructions include none of that info as posted in the Quick Reference anyways.
Im not here trying to start any problems… I just wanted help with it, that was all. But really i asked for help because i still havent gotten the instructions through my email. Yes, the email i gave is you correct. Checked the bulked too. Making me feel like the bad guy here 😥
I really get a kick out of you guys; if you had a problem I would of thought you would of went to my website and got my phone number at my shop, and called me to get help instead of complaining on the forum.
you do realize I don’t need to make these valves, I just enjoy air rifles I wanted to help Sean out on this side of the pond. Below is a link to my web sight for those who need help; you guys are acting like you cant find me and I pulled a DONG I do apologies for not checking my in box every day but since Obama got elected my life has been hell with repairs and custom guns.

If you don’t mind the hassle of sending it to me in the UK i’ll sort it out for you sir.
If the tophat is a little to far out it will possibly leak as the valve is unable to shut.
Ive drilled a little dimple in the inside of the fill adaptor before just to allow a little wiggle room for the tophat.
Later, Sean.
A pump is able to get the tank preesurized to 200 bar the same as scuba tank. It just needs to bleed fast enough which most pumps can. If it still leaks you probably have swarf stuck between delrin seat and seating face! It can be tiny and still leak massively! Disasseble and check that! Observe both faces with a magnifying glass for burrs or imbedded swarf!
Clean it and wet both faces with a little silicon grease. That sometimes helps sealing it long enough to put the dryfire thing to the test

I’ll definitely do that.
