Carette 4500 PSI Compressor Report

The Carette 4500 compressor is a Chinese compressor that seeks to fill the price performance gap between “big boy” dive compressors and Shoebox compressors.

Mr. Wang has kindly supplied a demonstrator unit for testing. As a demonstrator unit rather than a final production unit, the test unit may not match the appearance and configuration of the actual shipped units. This one included a PMV, high pressure air filter unit and automated condensate drain system. I do not know if those features will be in the final configuration. I have been told that the external finish will be better on the actual units. Also, the crankshaft bearing and rods will be more durable than those on this demonstrator.

I had hoped to be testing a unit that is an actual production sample, but because this is a demonstrator unit, bear in mind that the shipped product may differ from what I am testing. This does affect my ability to report whether the machine is a thumbs up or down. If the production units are worse than what I’m testing, I certainly wouldn’t be happy, nor would our forum members. On the other hand, I am getting very appropriate and encouraging responses from the manufacturer regarding my findings. Mr. Wang (Sincere) is actively improving the machine based on my comments.

For instance, he was ready about make changes regarding current draw based on my measurements. I don’t think changing the current draw would be worth it, if it slows the compressors. Also, the amount of oil I see in the condensate was already a known issue on this demonstrator. They already have a different component that cuts the oil bypass to 1/3 what I’m seeing. The oil bypass even on this demonstrator isn’t horrible. He’s also planning how to integrate the air filter on the compressor frame. It’s that type of desire to make a better product that I want in a manufacturer.

Rather than the demonstrator being perfect and production machines worse, we could end up with better production machines. However, I can only report what I am seeing and won’t speculate on what will actually ship to you. On the other hand, I have the impression that Mr. Wang actually does intend to deliver what he promises.

I have contacted Sincere and encouraged them to finalize their pricing and configuration soon. I know my testing and commentary has had an effect on their plans – I hope for the better for us air gunners. I think we went from having a completed, but basic product to a better, full featured package.

Very close to pulling the trigger on either this carette or an Omega unit…

Can we get sincere/mr wang to confirm these specs?

Very nice review! And good news to airgunners needing a midpriced compressor, certainly looks to be a good option.
More ways to fill your guns, altaros booster, omega, and now this before the big boys scuba compressors.

Nice review and research. Lots of effort here

Deserving of thanks from everyone – hope the tariffs don’t raise the prices 🙁

Heater worked. Got a nice 55F to work in rather than near freezing in the garage. Heater installation instructions were all f*&&ed up, but that is another story.

YES. Purging the cylinders by running for 5 minutes with the water oil separator bleed open works. The low pressure cylinder gets nicely cleared out. I’m not worried about water collecting and it rusting. No need to turn the cylinder 180 degrees. Just do a purge after every time you use the compressor.

I have populated an earlier post in this thread with details of the “purge” test.

Also, added a note to the cylinder inspection post regarding the need to purge the cylinders. The rusty water is completely preventable if one routinely purges the compressor after each usage episode.

Added info about using a squeeze bottle to make filing the coolant easier. I had to empty and fill the coolant system multiple times to do the purge test. Really needed an easier, less messy way.

Added note about always replacing the four stainless steel washers used to hold the high pressure cylinder head in place. Those are single use items. If you don’t replace them, you will get a coolant leak. I tried. It leaks if you re-use the washers. They won’t seal again once they have been deformed the first time.

Electrical wiring was inspected.

I believe the Carette 4500 is a viable compressor for the single air gunner. I would want it fully configured with PMV, high pressure filter, and auto drain for best usability. Its speed is fine for a single user to top up and even fill a Great White sized tank. I don’t think I would use it to supply a club, but for the single shooter, this hits the mark. Now, we need the final configuration, pricing, and support verified.

The Carette 4500 is NOT another example of cheap, under built machinery. I expected to find tons wrong on a machine someone was trying to foist on an unsuspecting public. No. I am the one who was surprised time and again by how this is intelligently designed and executed. No wonder they were willing to have me test a unit.

Nice, good news. Seems it’s cold no matter where you live, we have been freezing our buts in Finland it’s been around -20C all week.

Woohoo. Heater arrived. Now to install a new 240 volt circuit and we should get the garage warm enough to run the water condensate expulsion test tomorrow.

I wouldn’t if you need parts and they stop shipping you will be out of luck.

OTOH – I could order Two units to have spare parts ?

If you mean stop shipping all goods from China, that will not happen. It would collapse the US economy.
we are not supposed to talk politics but this is Trade so suppose it is ok?
If there are tariffs, parts would cost a bit more – up to 40% more

I wouldn’t if you need parts and they stop shipping you will be out of luck.

I may just order the Tuxing. Need to decide before CNY disrupts shipments from China as well as upcoming threat of trade sanctions

Hi SIncere –
Can we get confirmation that the Carette available now on Aliexpress has the following:

a PMV,
high pressure air filter unit and
automated condensate drain system
foster whip
DIN whip

These seem very important to budget decisions – also if you can PM me link to purchase?

If the answer to these questions is yes, I will purchase too.

Thanks.

HPA compressor is mainly high pressure, low pressure test we have not been a problem for several years.

Good grief. EVEN colder today.
I have ordered a heater for the garage to get it up to workable temperature.
