Condor high flow tank vs Talon tank

Condor with Custom weighted hammer (Don’t know the weight) heavier than stock.

I’ll do a 2,900psi fill tomorrow with a long shot string
Might not be as powerful but, the accuracy and the quietness
of the Condor with the Talon tank is what I was looking for….
The shots from the Talon tank were much tighter than the
Condor high flow.
Easy 5 shot one hole groups at 25yds with the Talon tank.
I’ll be trying the 65yd shot tomorrow.
It took 25 pump strokes to refill the Talon tank and 45
pump strokes to refill the High flow tank.
I am again impressed with this rifle…

Tony, both ends are the same. The hammer is latched behind the sear when cocked and when released the whole hammer slides across the sear and strikes the breech which hits the air valve…The sear has a triangled point on it that faces sorta forward but could catch on the lip of the black as it passes the sear…Feels much smoother now…I could feel it catching before and that is gone….
Make sure to pull the vavle stem out and clean it also, throw some silicone on it, I think the seal dries out and causes friction.

The edge where the black and brass come together was not flush….I sanded it down flush and gave it a coat of silicon grease….Didn’t take the trigger apart….I am getting ready to see what happens….The action feels much smoother now…It was catching before…..We’ll see…
Yea, I am intertaining the thought and will look up Mac1 if I do buy new..I am still waiting on a shroud from Don G He let me know he was really busy..
I just sent an email to AF to get a price on a Condor frame with only the trigger mechanism and bottle ring adapter installed…I can deal with a factory trigger if it means that I get consistant operation….Much easier to get use to a trigger than to try to guess how much power the next shot will make….I have the gun tore down again and still can’t see anything….I am either getting brave or fed up..I think I am about to pull the trigger and see what’s up…..

I’ve never taken an Air Force gun apart, does the hammer ride on the barrel or is its only contact surfaces the inside of the frame, the hammer spring and trigger sear?
If it doesn’t ride the barrel, any chance the frame isn’t round and that you could polish it a bit and relieve a tiny amount of material? I’m just throwing that out there as I am honestly just thinking out loud…Conversely polish the hammer’s outside diameter?

I have been experiencing this symptom all along just not this bad….
The hammer just contacts the inside of the frame and the sear just like you thought…The hammer od is small enough that it can’t get stuck anywhere in the frame…I did try sanding with 600 grit inside the frame to make sure everything was smooth but I am starting to think it is the sear that is catching the plastic piece on the back of the hammer…Just can’t really see inside to be able to tell exactly what or where it is catching….The last thing I want to do is pull the trigger mechanism apart to inspect that..but that may be the answer….ARRRGGGHHHH Getting frustrated…..I am so close to ordering a brand new Condor and just deal with the factory trigger…..

The id of the hammer is well bigger than the barrel…I have sprayed the barrel with silicon to make sure it wasn’t draggin there…No help…
Is there any chance that your modified Condor, i.e. tuned/tweaked trigger may not have been tuned correctly when it comes to the trigger?
Maybe there’s a burr/edge in there that doesn’t allow a consistent and clean release of all the trigger levers?
One big suggestion in the event you buy a new rig, get it from MAC1 or Air Hog if you aren’t looking for a Full House Tune/Custom gun which voids your warranty.
Tim, Van and Martin stand behind their products and services. If something goes awry, they will sort it out and make things right. Good solid people to do business with.
If going Full House, as you know Talon Tunes does great work and from what I hear, Don G. does great work too but is currently difficult to contact with his new business venture…

Now…I was shooting today and as I have seen in the past, the shots started getting erractic…High then low and I could tell that the shots were way different as far as power was concerned..A few times the shot just went in the dirt and once the pellet didn’t even leave the barrel….There is something going on with the hammer and I have taken the gun apart 4 times trying to figure it out…It looks to me like the hammer is getting hung on something and the only thing it could be is the trigger sear that holds the hammer back when it is cocked…..I put the Condor weight in and turned the PW up to 3 and that got the fps back to a reasonable consistancy. If I work the breech back and forth a few times before I cock it it seems to help. I have been baffled all along with the erractic fps. I have seen 890 then the next shot is 650 then 925 then 850…The only thing that it could be is the hammer hanging on something Sporadically right? that could have been 90% of the problem all along…..That would explain 4 or 5 shot one holers then the next 4 or 5 spread all over the place….Something ain’t right….
Are you shooting with exceptionally cold/hot conditions compared to your earlier reports? Does the hammer move smoothly in the frame?

That picture is actually the TonyTune hammer which is the same design as the AF hammer…I used that picture just for illustration….I have the Condor hammer and weight in and filled to 2600psi…PW2..The valve on the tank is brand new…It is my new Talon tank…
