Q:

Cricket or Edgun POLL

Which do you prefer and why?

I don’t have neither but looking seriously into the Cricket. To me it has all the advantages over Edgun: price, shot count, superior regulator, magazine (that works) and looks. I’m going to wait a few months to see if they come up with a .25 compact. Otherwise I think I will get the .22 tactical standard. I just love the size of the .22 standard. Would prefer the .25 but it’s a little too long for me…

I wonder how many times Ed voted. 😯

Wait a minute,

I have 4 Edguns, the 5th is coming this Monday. Is that mean I can vote 5 times?

What Dennis said sums it up.

Ok – what about swearing over ugly women and treacherous Bobcats? 😯 We can hit the Copacabana in Havana!

quote Sir Ville:

I´ll represent you, Pro Bono. That way your wife will get everything but you´ll get some money over for both those guns and for some pellets too. What´s your excuse now ?? 😆

That would be a sight – Me having the closing arquement, with a Finnish accent, holding a Bullpup on my lap and loudly preaching the Gospel of Guns but swearing over the ugliness of the Bobcat and the treacherous ways of Women in general.. I´m sure they would reward that appearance with a vacation at Guantanamo Bay , paid by the US Government.

Can you recommend a good divorce attorney? 😛

The shot count / FPS oughtta be down a little since the shorter barrel. Maybe even the air tube volume is less.
Now is no time to be a Sissy – get them both, i say. Get them both. If you do, i will. Fair enough ? 😯

You think it’s a step up from the Compact Cricket? From what I remember I thought the fps and shot count was a bit lower in the Colibri. 🙂 semi-auto is the big plus? My wife might forgive me by then. 😀

Probably not the best of timing for an accurate poll. Also, preference varies with ones personal requirements. I have both (2 Eds and 1 Cricket) and wouldn’t give up either. I plan on getting a .177 Compact Cricket special order so it will be 2 and 2.

Stall that order, my friend. The Colibri is due in April.

Let´s say like this: You´d get few more shots but if you fill it to 300 bar and shoot it down to 220 bar those 80 bars would give you less than half the shots you get compared to shooting it down from 220 bar to 140 bar (meaning same 80 bar drop) and if you have a 300 bar scuba tank you´ll get only ONE fill to 300 bar. The next one would be maybe 285 bar, then 265 and so on = meaningless.

I´m not an engineer but i´d say the regs can´t handle a pressure over 220 bar efficiently. Or something…

quote Sir Ville:

I wanted to point out one thing but it seems Ed beat me to it. You can fill the EdGun upto 300 B too but what´s the point ? No one in their right mind fills their guns – neither Cricket nor EdGun – past 220 B since it´s totally meaningless.

Can you elaborate? How is it meaningless if you fill past 220bar? Wouldn’t you get more shot??

I´ll get it thru a friend for a friend in UK. He already made me a CF shroud in the same length as the stock shroud and it´s noticeably quieter. I´d say the shorter version is near the same as the stock. I´ll report at once i have something to report – which should be very soon.

And yeah – a Daystate BP would be something. I don´t think the FX Bobcat was a flop but rather an ugly first attempt. It´s a good shooter regardless its less that desirable looks.

Ville, that’s a great idea, where did you order the smaller shroud from and I wounder if it will be much louder, please keep us posted. I also have both ed and cricket, both are nice! I still think Daystate should get back in the game, since FX flopped, then both ed and kalibur would have some serious competition !!!

I have a WST .25 cal and with the stock shroud it´s 840 mm (33 + change inches) but i´ve ordered a new, 60 mm shorter shroud and that way the barrel is as long as the airtube = this cuts the total length down to 780 mm (a hair under 31 inches) and that´s near perfect length for it. Now those cheap bastards at KalibrGun just need to come up with nice bags for those Crickets and deliver them in one – like the bags you get with an EdGun.

BTW – i get that “it´s a little too long for me” -line from my wife from time to time … 😎
