So the way I see it one of two scenarios can occur either there could be a minor issue like a leak or scuffing on parts in which case I will contact aoa and get their advice on it, or case #2 if there is a major issue like bent barrel or cracked stock in which case I will return it to aoa for exchange. Now if the gun breaks down the road then I would not hesitate to send it to wwag for repair (at charge of course). Truth be told though I’m not expecting any major issues, I mean this is a cricket not a marauder or p12 :?. I’ve done my research and there is not a lot of reported issues with these guns especially when compared to the volume of sales over the past year.
Is it really a $300 difference? I haven’t seen free shipping advertised at AOA (maybe it is free?) and I’ve read that WWAG sends a fill probe ($30 @ AOA) with the foster adapter? I’ve also read posts where people were looking for the adapter back a year or so and that led to the dog days of airgunning until a solution was found.
The cheekpiece is a non issue for both.
I don’t claim to know these details but when I compared the two these questions came to mind.
Steve and Kat at WWAG communicate, listen and really give “customer service” a good name. I can’t say AOA has treated me as well. The P12 importer seems like a crook. Tony, at Edgun, may not have the customer service “saavy”, but I feel better paying more to support people who design for themselves (Ed) and/or provide service. Going on the cheap, in the end, should be weighed with the real cost. Screw the lowest price; look for value, support, ethics and a host of variables. If cheap is ethical… fine; it’s a good deal. If it’s shady…
You can think about a purchase, or you can just consume. Every dollar we spend has a consequence.

I’m with you, I said what I was going to do and I am going to do what I said ( period ).
If AOA gun costs went down and WWAG did not then it will be the end of the Cricket line at WWAG, Steves service is great but most won’t pay that much extra for it. They may regret it later but I don’t think they will pay the extra up front. If everybody’s prices dropped then I think Steve will advise and honor it.
I am curious of two things, I wonder if AOA’s next order delivery is behind WWAG’s and the price change hit in between ???
Also I am still curious if the AOA skeleton stock guns are discounted ?? Has anyone asked to be clear.
I got someone on the phone 2 different times at AOA back when I was deciding between bobcat and cricket and they turned my stomach so bad, I could not order from them. I just won’t buy from someone that acts as if they have the upper hand over their customer.
It’s clear that prices for pups are going to come down, primarily because of competition between manufacturers not retailers more than anything else.
I believe in saving the money too. 300 bucks is decent chunk. I’d give Steve a chance figure it out. And give him the bussiness even if it means paying a little more. Something’s can’t be bought.
Let me ask you this. Do u go to a burger joint with your own burger and ask them to cook it? Who you gonna go to when u have an issue with the gun and AOA slams the door in your face?
I really like wwag, I’ve never done business with them but from what I’ve seen and read they have excellent customer service and truly do care about outputting a quality product and will stand behind it. That said I will place my order for a cricket through AOA with this special pricing, wwag may lose out on my gun purchase but I guarantee that they will have my business one way or another, I am most likely going to purchase synthetic stock down the road, not to mention spare mags, hst adjuster, aeon scope ect. and they will all be from wwag.
Some may question my purchasing from AOA as they have a questionable past and obviously are attempting to eliminate some competition with this move, but when I really get down to brass tacks the bare bones truth is that (as much as I may want one) I do not have a disposable income, I am in highschool and work my ass off in a couple minimum wage jobs to afford my toys, so every buck counts to me, and saving $300 really helps. Furthermore in this grand country of ours we have a little thing called capatalism, and I intend to take full advantage of it when at all possible .
Thats my story and I’m sticking to it…..
From Steve’s note it is clear that the importer altered the pricing for AOA as a much larger retailer but not the little guys. If it was only AOA pulling a power play we could still sting them by buying at the originally agreed upon prices. I suspect then that KalibrGun made a pricing change which I heard rumored a while back and now the importer is picking and choosing which retailers will prosper rewarding volume. AOA may be making nearly as good of margin at the lower prices and WWAG is just being squeezed. I don’t know if there are any legal remedies for what may be contract long term pricing based on volume projections. KalibrGun may be wanting to increase volume. Who really knows the entire story? My gun was special order so I plan on continuing the original deal if that is what is offered. AOA doesn’t normally carry that Cricket flavor.
Hopefully all you guys that ordered your on sale crickets receive all your magazines
Aholes of Az knew WWAG was getting a big shipment and had plenty of good recommendations from people who dealt with WWAG (it began to seem like they were the #1 retailer of Kalibrgun in the U.S.) so they setup an ambush to decimate them on a 100 gun order and sell a few guns at lower margin. Meanwhile, WWAG is left sitting on inventory or matching low or loss margin.
Sure I get it’s business. But if WWAG is forced to sell at low or no margin, where is that stellar customer service and attention to detail for nothing? I’ve read that some people (was the esteemed Hoot: one of them?) have had repeatedly bad experiences with AOA quality. So as Zoco mentioned, what will be the satisfaction level of the bargain Crickets? Time will certainly tell. And also that Kalibrgun USA guy Dima was someone that I kept wondering what to him, Thanks Zoco.
Now I’ve also seen the argument that the guns cost a lot less in Europe. One possible reason that comes to mind for that could be that Europe has a much better rail system (not all countries being equal I’m sure) than the U.S. and at some point the guns have to get on a boat to come here and trucking to the importer then the retailers after that. It all adds on.
I don’t claim to know the margin retailers here get on these guns nor am I the “poor them” guy but I do believe that if you knock out the folks who go out of their way to make a great buying experience by short term cheat and beat tactics, we the consumer lose in the long run. In the end though most people go where their currency gets the most.
Long time since posting and a very long post, my apologies
Couldn’t have said it better!!! +1 :dito: :dito: :dito: :dito: :dito: :dito:
And how fast everybody forgets AOA’s shitty customer service to save a few dollars. And how many time have I heard of WWAG helping some poor smuck that bought his Cricket from AoA after AoA gave the Buyer the run around.
I was just thinking about Dima the other day. I bought my .22 from him because he was the only dealer that had what I wanted in stock at the time. Easy to deal with and fast shipping from FL to IN.
Meanwhile, I am trying to decide whether to order a P12 in .177 or .22
I’ve followed a lot here without much to say but this is not good. I’m planning on getting a Cricket .22 soon and this seemed like a good thing at first but after reading Steve Smith’s post on the Yellow I think not.

The walnut stocked Crickets from WWAG come with the STOCK cheek piece, WWAG offers an improved cheek piece for an additional cost.
Thin margins? I doubt it. They are getting a hell of a lot more mark-up than PB Dealers get. Must be nice to get such healthy markups! 😯
At these prices, regular Gun Dealers need to quite laughting at AG’s and start earning a better pay check. 😉
With current dealer pricing, for the mom and pop dealer who is buying from AOA or another importer and reselling, the margin has just became very thin. If the dealer had any crickets in stock before this price change he probably just lost money on those guns. If the retail price goes down another $100 to $1150 for the synthetic and current dealer pricing stays the same it’s paper thin. Especially when you take into consideration shipping fees and other fees associated with the sale of the gun like credit card fees.
Trust me, you would be amazed how bad the little guys are getting hosed right now, especially if they stocked up on crickets a month ago. But for the average consumer right now its all gravy…
By the way you put you act like they are selling them at cost or close to it LOL That is almost exactly what is happening
There is more left on the table. AOA aint no fools. yup you’re right, more for AOA

This is typical AOA. They are nothing more than WALMART for airguns. They are just trying to squeeze the little man so they can control the market, truely 😥 sad! They know that small guys like WWAG and others cant hang with their volume. I have purchased many airguns from AOA, hope customer service is not a high priority to you guys, because that’s what Steve from WWAG BRINGS TO THE TABLE! Not just a #. Just my opinion, im still goin to WWAG even if its 300 more, as soon as AOA puts everybody out of business ,then they will raise the price ,watch and see!!!!!!
