Q:

EDgun Matador is the #1 PCP in the world…

EDIT: This was not a gun problem after all… It was a problem with my adjustable magnification scopes… All 3 scope (Leapers 8-32X56, Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50X60, and Leapers 4-12X40) were losing their zero and shifting the Point Of Impact every time I moved the magnification adjustment wheel from the lowest setting to the highest setting and back again to the lowest setting…

Eduard, here are some 65yd groups I shot this morning…. It seems that
sometimes it is a laser shooting 3-5 shots on top of each other and then shots
start to fly everywhere… I cleaned the barrel very carefully and shot some 100
shots before shooting these groups… The wind was absolutely zero… My
Combro is on the blink so I could not get any FPS information…. This gun has
well over 10,000 rounds through it. It does not make a difference what
the psi is in the gun and I removed the shroud/mod to make sure it was not
causing any problems. (See group on bottom left that says “No mod”)
I also pulled out my Rapid to make sure that it was not the conditions.. The
Rapid shot a 10 shot sub 1″ group at 80yds. The EDgun shot 2 sub 3″
groups so I know it was not the wind nor the shooter causing the wild
flyers…. I ordered a new Chrony this morning so I should have FPS info
next week….

mmmmm……………… BSA barrel 😀

One good thing about living in the UK is that we can get BSA barrels easily 😀

I can only get them in 15.5mm OD that I know of, but will enquire about a skinny one 😀

Is there a BSA gun with a 12mm barrel?

Dave

Ed was right. It was either the crown or pitting in the barrel or both… The
rough spots I found before was evidentially rust and I did not polish the bore
long enough to get them out…. TexasB did a really good job on the crown
and polishing the bore so it could have been a combination of both. I am
going to put a new barrel on it as soon as I can find a 12mm BSA barrel…..

Hey Jeff,

Any idea how the crown might have gotten damaged?

I told Jeff already my thought about it — while cleaning the barrel.

I thought we were only suppose to post 3-shot groups from now on. 😆

I found out yesterday that the fps spread tightens up significantly when I tune the trigger of the gun to be very “crispy”. Anyone else experience this?

AAAAAhhhhh yea. A few years ago that dawned on me…. My gun will only
cock if I flip the trigger while I am pulling the bolt…. Kinda dangerous but
“KFC crispy”

I thought we were only suppose to post 3-shot groups from now on. 😆

I’ve got some more experimental “irons” in the fire. I’ll let you know how things turn out. And if the results are good, I may want to send you guys some “treated” JSB 18’s to try.

Finally got the EDgun sorted out….. Seems it had a knob of budda in da
barrel… Just kidding… TexasB re-crowned it and did some magic and it is
back on track….

Test targets for today…

Did you look at that link I posted on 1st plane and 2nd plane scopes?

Yep…. Just to clarify. I was not trying to shoot on different magnification
settings… All shots were taken on X10 power…. I was just zooming in to see
what the groups looked like and then returning the magnification back to X10
for the next shot….

I do like the idea of First Focal plane scopes… I had a Barska that was First
focal plane but it would not focus less than 30yds so I sent it back…

Did you look at that link I posted on 1st plane and 2nd plane scopes?

I am on the phone with legacy sports and they are going to send me a new
Nikko Stirling Diamond once I send this one in… As far as I can see, all I
have to pay is shipping….

More scope testing here…

Reply To: need help on regulator adjustment

Yep,and that is enough to say Stear Clear! 👿

There was a fellow over at ag advice hawking the fakes, and they were nothing but trouble. And the vendor shipped several different scopes, while claiming they were all the same thing.

That was OYKAS posting under one of his names over there recommending those scopes.

Thanks for the heads up….[/quote]
