Q:

EDgun Matador is the #1 PCP in the world…

EDIT: This was not a gun problem after all… It was a problem with my adjustable magnification scopes… All 3 scope (Leapers 8-32X56, Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50X60, and Leapers 4-12X40) were losing their zero and shifting the Point Of Impact every time I moved the magnification adjustment wheel from the lowest setting to the highest setting and back again to the lowest setting…

Eduard, here are some 65yd groups I shot this morning…. It seems that
sometimes it is a laser shooting 3-5 shots on top of each other and then shots
start to fly everywhere… I cleaned the barrel very carefully and shot some 100
shots before shooting these groups… The wind was absolutely zero… My
Combro is on the blink so I could not get any FPS information…. This gun has
well over 10,000 rounds through it. It does not make a difference what
the psi is in the gun and I removed the shroud/mod to make sure it was not
causing any problems. (See group on bottom left that says “No mod”)
I also pulled out my Rapid to make sure that it was not the conditions.. The
Rapid shot a 10 shot sub 1″ group at 80yds. The EDgun shot 2 sub 3″
groups so I know it was not the wind nor the shooter causing the wild
flyers…. I ordered a new Chrony this morning so I should have FPS info
next week….

DUH! 🙄

Watch out fro those off brand super sniper. Tasco lost the contract for a reason. That and there are several being make in chins. JUST LIKE the real thing. NO!!!!

Look at the add linked earlier. Even the turrets are different i the different pictures on their own site! One has Bushnell turret, one has sort of super sniper looking turrets.

The real thing doesn’t cost that much more, and will be there next year if you need warranty work.

There was a fellow over at ag advice hawking the fakes, and they were nothing but trouble. And the vendor shipped several different scopes, while claiming they were all the same thing.

No you know why I use “ZEISS”! 😉 😀

Leave it to you to give solid advice…..

Thanks for the heads up….

Well give it to Tron so he can put it up his butt

Should’ve tapped that bitch…lol

I literally beat it with a rubber handled screw driver more that 74 times to
see if that would duplicate the problem and it didn’t…lol

Fucking scopes 😈

I was traumtized so much I only shoot on 6x or 12x. I know what happens on those 2 settings. The others are totally never used.

Heck, it was worse than that… I was shooting on X10 the whole time….I
would take a shot on X10 then, just turn the
magnification all the way to X50 and back to X10 then, take another shot and
the friggin POI would be different on X10 than it was before.. …

In fact on one scope I could tap the side of the scope to get it to shrink the groups…lol

Mam,

I kinda did…lol

Remember this?

quote WalkonKing:

You should chrono that scope and see whats wrong with it….lol

I chased POI for along time on my Talon. It would be a tack driver then go whacky. Check everything and it turned out to me the Leapers Scope.

A bushnell legend cured it

Right, I remember that post.. That’s what motivated me to mount 3
different scopes. The thing that fooled me was that a Nikko and 2 stinkin Leapers
were all doing the same thing so I ASS U ME D the gun was the
common denominator and therefore the problem. Yaheeeee
Haaaaaaaaw

Mam,

You need a punch right in the head 😀

I have found that to happen on many scopes. Sorry I did not think to ask you if you were changing magnification while sighting in.

Oh ya here is a piece of advice you can use as well. Never change pellets while trying to sight in as well. 😀

Oh great! NOW you come out with all of the problem solving information….
GEEEEZZZZZ where were you 168hrs and one brand new Shooting Chrony
ago… 😆

quote Ted in Madison:

I come back from a weekend at the cabin, and wonder if I got the luckiest Leapers on the block. I was using it at 4X all weekend, smacking chipmunks and field mice at 35-60 yards. I didn’t have any noticeable POI change (even when shooting water bottle caps at 50 yards). But, you’ve piqued my interest. Next time I’m at the range, I’ll move the magnification up and down and see what happens.

Good post, Mam. Thanks for drawing attention to this potential problem. And, in doing so, you also squeezed a bit of personal preference out of Ed – well done. 😉

Well you are quite welcome Ted.. I have 3 Leapers and I am now questioning
them all….. I hope this post will keep someone from going through all of the
time and effort I did only to find out it was not the gun…

Ah, zoomomatic between shots is no good eh? 😯

Interesting to see the near perfect vertical string for that one target after the adjustments… 😕

Who woulda thunk it?
