12x fixed calibrated for 10x?

From Strelok: “This is just note for owners of scopes with variable power”-

A fixed power scope is a second focal plane, which means the sizes of the reticle is not determined by the magnification. The reticle dimensions are determined by the manufacture. So the EDgun scope is calibrated at 10X, which means that even though the magnification is 12X the reticle is still properly calibrated within the MIL-DOT system at 10X. One MIl is 3.6″ at 100 yards or 10CM at 100 meters. Bottom line the reticle is properly calibrated. Hope this helps.
The SWFA weighs 21 oz
Hawke : 6-24X44 19 oz
Athlon Optics Talos BTR 4-14X44 : 23.5 oz
MTC Viper connect 24 oz
Sightron 10X42 MMD 19.5 oz

So as you can see the EDgun scope is within a few ounces of the major competitors in the bullpup market. The list is the common scopes used on a lot of bullpups here on TAG. Secondly you will not find a 44 mm OBJ scope much lighter. So if weight is so important I would suggest looking at a 32 or 24 MM OBJ. The average weight of a quality 42-44 MM OBJ scope will be in the neighborhood of 20 oz.

I used to cycle a lot. I was in a club. Most new people could be spotted because they would obsess over every ounce the could shave off their bike. At some point one of us older members would point out an obvious fact, it is easier for the rider to lose a couple ounces rather than the bike.

In closing I never said 800 bucks, that is not the price of a SWFA 10×42 side focus SS scope.

Who said $800 ???

and they are not heavy … ❓ ❓

A 21 oz. Ed Gun scope for a bullpup rifle I consider to be quite heavy and then add the assumed price around $800.00 U.S. dollars
added on , regardless how nice this scope is said to be ? I wonder what those who really know the ins and outs on the true quality
that this scope is said to be ? Is it really worth a $800.00 price tag and do they think that this scope is too heavy ? ❓ ❓ ❓

FROM : THE BIRDMAN

this vid is for 1st Generation Edgun scope… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1onggV4zx4

this is for the tracking and test of 2nd Gen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZywgkd3rA8

They weigh .6 kg or about 21 oz, as far as where they are made, I believe they are from China, or at least the housing is. Rest assured I will do a full review video when I get them which will include tracking, return to zero and mechanics.

As far as size I posted the specs above, you’ll have to convert if from MM to in if you are still on the imperial system. Just for a point of reference the side focus SWFA 10X42 weighs 21 oz also.

12x fixed calibrated for 10x?

I sent an email to Igor Borisov (Strelok) to ask why it is listed like that. He usually answers me in a day or so…

KS where are they made? Could you give us som info (when you get them of course) on how the turrets feel and how well they track etc. Also the weight is important

12x fixed calibrated for 10x?

Scope looks very promising, would still like to see some changes and other offerings. I like the reticle and like the idea of being German glass. Who is providing the German glass? Look forward to the pricing and your inventory of Edgun products. Wish you well in your endeavors.

Oh, while I’m here, what is the length and weight of this scope? Thanks

Cheers

EDgun scope specs:

The scope is:
12X44 fixed power
Glass is German
Etched reticle
mil/mil
60-65 mil total elevation on the scope
60-65 mil windage
6 mil per rotation
34 mm main tube, one piece
low profile turrets
settable turrets

EDgun MPR2 reticle:

I have a few on order and enroute. I have not seen this scope in person yet but from the specs I think it will be a nice addition to any airgun but it would be especially happy on top of your EDgun!

As for price I predict it will be competitive with the SWFA. I reserve the price until I see how much Uncle Sam wants.
