Anyone have any updates on this? I just tried the 1.5 x 5.0 B90s, and they leak a bit more than the originals. Just pushing the probe into the breech by hand I can tell there is only very light contact. I’m wondering if a 1.6 CS would be a better fit.
I still haven’t tried the Buna N 90 Duro O rings in my 30 cal Matador. The replacement set that Ed sends with the gun worked fine-so far. I will try the 90 Duro ones when I put the 30 cal back together.
Guys, are you putting a coat of silicone grease on the 90 Duros before and after installing them? JohnP tried a set of the 90 Duros that I sent him and they leaked. He cut or nicked the first set somehow while he was installing them. The second set that he tried worked OK for him IIRC.
Are the 2 screws on the front breech block tight? You could be getting an air leak from there if the screws are not tight. Also, I have read that Ed is using rubber O rings in some of the transfer port sealing area instead of brass O rings. If you guys are having trouble with air leaking out of the base of the front breech block, it might be worth checking if your gun has a rubber O ring in the transfer port.
I really doubt that there is a rubber O ring in there but, if air is leaking from the bottom of the front breech block, it might be worth checking out.
If the 90 Duro Buna N 5.0 X 1.5s don’t work, I will try some Buna N 90 Duro 5.5 X 1.5s and see how they do. I have some Viton 5.0 X 1.5s and they wouldn’t fit properly in the probes grooves. They were a loose fit and would hang up as the bolt was in the last stage of closing. Maybe some 5.0 X 1.6 mm Buna N 90 Duro O rings will be the answer.
Tonight, I am going to put the 30 cal air valve/regulator assembly in the 25 longs air tube and see if the 30 cal assembly will seal and work in the 25 air tube. I plan on putting the Buna N 90 Duro O rings in the 30 cal and shooting the 30 cal this weekend.
I really can’t tell a difference between the stock orings and the 90 dura 5 x1.5 Buna N O. I’ll also try the 5.5s if I can close the bolt. 🙂 As in the past is it possible that the slight puff of air may be coming from elsewhere???

Thanks for the O-rings as they arrived a couple days ago.
I also received some 1.5x 5.5 from the O-ring store and they are a better fit on my gun giving a nice tight fit.
While the noise is greatly reduced I do still get a puff of air on my cheek.
Going to have to give Tony a shout to see where to go from here.

I just got cracked up big time on the Edgun oring issues including puff of air and other issues as well. I did a Google on Edgun and orings and you guys have been solving this same problem over and over year after year starting back at least in 2010. No wonder you know exactly what the issues are – too funny. 😆 It’s like a knowledgebase for Edgun’s. It’s really interesting because the evolution of the Edgun is really contained in the archives. Unfortunately, some of the photos are gone.
Since my orings arrived from the oring store and it is raining I’ll throw them in for fun! 😛

Thanks OG. I clicked on your link and they had a dozen of those orings in stock so I ordered them all with some other ones I needed for my other PCPs. Now they say only one in stock. 🙂 You are right on the money. I noticed when my son shot the .30 and I was several feet away it seemed very quiet. I am reviewing threads on the foam insulation options to block that noise transfer.
My 30 cals original O rings were leaking so, I put the spares in. The spares are currently not leaking but, the gun is still loud when fired. The loudness is caused from having your cheek on the rear breech block and bone conduction amplifies the sound of the hammer hitting the air valve rod.
Ed has turned up the HST for the 30 cals and the hammer hits with increased force on the 30s. My hearing is not so good and the sound of the gun shooting is not excessive to me.
Just for shits and giggles, hold your cheek an inch or 2 away from the rear breech block and fire the gun once. I think that you will find that your noisy 30 cal has suddenly become a lot quieter. Next, hold the gun at arms length and shoot it once. I am continually surprised as to how quiet the gun is when held at arms length! About all I hear is a “tink”!
The new 30 cal baffle and moderator that Ed uses on the 30 cals really does a nice job!
I have seen topics and posts where some guys use a thin strip of adhesive backed foam rubber attached to the rear breech block.
Give that a try and post your thoughts.

5.5×1.5 70duro worked for me and cured the issue. They are kind of loose, but they work.
5.0 x1.5 90duro didn’t make any change for me.
It sounds like every .30 call is a little different.
