Q:

fixing shroud

I need to shift or move my shroud to the right about the 1/4 inch. I’m wondering if could just warm or heat up back of shroud and try to move it that way.
I’m not sure how these are built so I could have it all wrong to begin with. Could I get the back end hot enough to get the front to move over a bit to get it to stop clipping.

Not the ideal conditions for AG shooting – to say the least. :suprisedn:

Can you imagine Ville going out on a pest festival and having to take into account all this. Taking a cricket from 68 deg and start shooting from truck. The Front end sticking out of window where it’s 12 degree or less. Then take it outside for it to cool off some more and still expect scope and gun to hold its original poi. My cricket sees these conditions almost all of the time when I go out and pest. Then it’s the swirling wind around the buildings to take into effect. Its still a miracle I can make 60 yard shots on sparrows

Mine takes almost two hours in the cold before i can trust its POI. Cold does very weird things for weapons – AG’s in particular and especially springers.

Wouldn’t be surprised if that would be the case. I zeroed it in about 29 degrees and after took it out of truck and fired first shot when it was nice and warm.

The shroud is made of aluminium and reacts to temp changes much faster than all the steel parts – like the barrel. If you´re going to shoot in the cold it´s good to take the gun out at least an hour before shooting it so it has time to react to the ambient temps. If you take it out straight from the room temperature weird things can and will happen untill it´s totally cooled down.

I don’t know how shroud will be when I get out and shoot it again. Maybe room temperature brings it back where it should be. 0 deg temps might have something to do with it. I’m going to put Hawke SW scope on it to make sure it’s not the scope that’s messed up.

I´ve had the clipping thing with my other .25 WB. The first .25 WST and my venerable .177 Compact have no issues. I got a new one thru warranty as a replacement for the faulty WB shroud.

I never had any clipping issues with the OEM shrouds,,,,,,,, ,,,,, , ,, , yet that is, knock on that wood.

Just my home made ones; Being that I like to have the first stage baffle hole very small compared to the others, with its Cap being the same dia as if and only if it’s back ported.

Maybe eelect thinking is that he can’t break something that’s already broken and he’s tempted and driven to be successful ?

I´m periodically checking with flashlight if all baffles are still ok inside the shroud 😡

Damn right! It´s time they correct the clipping issue. This is ridiculous and , like Eelectus pointed out ,will tarnish the brand.

All those with clipping shrouds : You NEED to send them for warranty swap.

I’d say it’s centered. So far I’ve been lucky no problems as of yet. Maybe I shouldn’t have said that…….

Looks good to me eelect !!!

If you notice the hole the pellet make is a bit smaller than, but it’s centered to the muzzle hole is the way to gauge it.
You might want to use your finger nail to scratch the tape down around the muzzle hole to get it to stick more and or clean it with alcohol prier to.

looks like shroud is looking good. Will have to check other things.

They don’t leave much room for error in there. The pellet basically just fits through the baffles.

That would be great if they would find a way to Rigidize the shroud and have dead center alignment..
it’s too bad brand is marred with this.
