Gun Expo Tradgedy, Accidental Death.
Father takes 8 year old son/s to a Machine gun Expo/Fun Shoot. Father let’s 8 year old son, Shoot a fully Automatic Uzi Sub machine gun. The boy shoots at a pumpkin and looses control of the Uzi and shoots himself in the head. The Uzi flips up all the way over to shoot backwards.
Now the local sheriff and the 2 Expo sponsors are being charged with manslaughter. No negligence charge against the Father. Who’s at fault here, would you let your 8 year old son shoot a full Auto handgun? Most adults can’t control a Full Automatic handgun! This is a tragedy, and shooter lacked proper training. Who’s responsible for a minor, and or his/her personal safety/gun safety? Wonder if they posted “Enter at Your Own Risk”?
Being a minor and not being responsible for his actions, why shouldn’t it fall to the parents/guardian? I think the shooter should be responsible, but being a minor, what do you think?

all LEOs do is exercise Police powers when they THINK a law or Ordinance has been violated
Actual LAW is determined by folks well above your former GS8 pay grade or in the case of juries often your ability to apply reason and common sense as well.
Ask a LEO for a determination on a law and a good share of the time you will receive a wrong answer
this is particularly true regarding weapons
man I have heard LEOs spout some of the most outright ignorant things regarding what the LAW was out of the mouths of Police
man I could write a book just on the stupid cop comments I have heard in over two decades as a vendor at Gun Shows
Can’t blame the Officer really, most are given a very very small taste of law in their Community College/VoTech 18 month Cert courses where often you have LEOs put out in forced resignation/retirement as instructors

I always worked for the two biggest departments here in Oregon, they were the hardest to get hired by and they had the best benefits. But the small time boys were just as smart, and we all got the same state run training. It was just in the big city, you got more exposure hence more experience.
And there were good cops and there were bad cops. Ones I still have respect for to this day and ones I will never respect.
I have been out of the game for two decades, I went out with a disability retirement at age 31 with full tax free pay.
I can truthfully say that both departments had rigerous standards, and still hired Leppy’s, (thats a motherless calf to you city boys.)
And times have changed, I do not like these SWAT team assholes, sorry folks I just do not. And I have a special place in my heart (sic) for locals that when they can’t do the job the way state law says they must, they get a federal grant and wear both badges, then enforce the law differently than what the constiituants of their jurisdicton asked and voted for.
Bottomline is, there is no fucking justice, there is only budgeting and politics.

For what its worth I hold many Federal LEOs in rather high regard, will even go so far as to state I do respect nearly all I have met
