Q:

I have to ask those who waits for EDguns to excuse me…

Tony knocks to my head every second day with the only question “When!?” and the only thing I can say “Have no idea… 🙁 ” The problem is that we have to delivery LW barrels from Germany to Russia, it used to be very smooth and predictable but now, due to some changes in Russian custom work (I hate them more the police 🙁 ) it takes so long. For instance if it took them a week to clear the barrels at the custom before but not about 250 barrels are stuck at the custom for 7 week already 🙁 and I have no idea when they will go out (they promise one more week and then let them out) but I do not believe them any more. So, we expect the second delivery, which is going the other way in a couple of weeks and as soon as we have barrels here I will assemble guns and send them to Tony immediately, so be patient 🙂 (the delivery out of Russia is another headache but that is next stage).

Next year we are very serous about opening the separate enterprise in Europe to make the guns for client out of Russia to avoid dealing with Russian stupid authorities, rules and officials… Keep fingers crossed for us 🙂

Ed, Tony….any update on progress of the latest Matador shipment?

I see the current Matador as a “Collectors” item. Once the R3 comes out, the Matador will eventually go its way, and emphasis will be on new models and the inevitable progress to come. Ed is not a stupid individual and knows innovation and new ideas will only make his product more valuable. Meanwhile, those of us who own an “Original” will have, in my opinion, a very valuable collectors item. There are not that many original models in existence by today’s standards. The original Matador is not a mass produced rifle. The R3, once in mass production in Estonia, readily available to word wide buyers, will most certainly sell in quantity.

An example, I once had a chance to buy a lightly used Winchester Model 21 double barrel 12 gauge for $150.00. I was very young and simply didn’t have that much money back in 1967. A double barrel Winchester was not particularly common back then, and the new gas operated autos were all the rage. There were not that many field grade Winchester doubles made, and far fewer available for sale. Google this model and see what it is worth today, and you will learn from my mistakes.

How many people involved in our unique sport own a hand-made, highest mechanical quality, unrivaled accuracy, classic Russian simplistic design, bullpup, pcp rifle, that was made inside Russia, and each one was personally inspected by the designer and owner, then literally smuggled out of the country to reach our hands? The struggle and history of this item alone assure its future value.

Just my random thoughts on this particular snowy day.

Thanks!

Hoot 😯

PS: Ed, once you decide to move on to the newer model of the Matador, you should assemble one last run of 100 of the “Original Matador”, hand made in Mother Russia, in a unique collectors edition, numbered, tested by you, paperwork signed by you, and sold at a premium.

Give some of your more affluent customers one last chance to gain access to the pcp that started it all. There’s always a good mass market for new innovation, and highest quality, but let’s not ignore the very lucrative, and very limited market, for the collectors of histories “unique, old, and no longer available” collectors items.

Just a thought from one former businessman to another.

No place beats Dubai for enterpreunership, taxes are nearly zero, loads of Indians with low pay etc….

I’m sorry but Airguns in Dubai has been banned for quite a while now…

Now even Al Sayad doesn’t brings them!

Sayed doesn’t bring them but he still has stock that you can buy, but I was talking about manufacturing that’s a different story, if you manufacture here then you will be backed up by the government dude.

ED,

I have found the perfect solution for shipping my two Matadors. I even found it on your own forum…..

You can hardly think of a better courier than this:

Anybody understanding why the wait is painful…???

Thanks a lot to “Caramba” on the Russian EDgun forum for the idea !!! 😀

+1 Can’t wait!!

Since the shipping date seems to be a major email question I’d like to clarify something.
The Edguns were manufactured but not sent to the US yet.
The latest info from Ed is that they might leave Russia as early as the end of next week.
Untill the factory actually ships them out I won’t have any infomation on the arrival dates here in the States.

Thank you for the update!
