I now love having central AC, DISH sat, surround sound, HDTVs, a regular comfortable bed, a giant refrigerator, my scooter or motorcycle, and all of my toys (hunting and fishing gear, RC helicopters and drones). LOL I am spoiled. :8:

Sounds pretty badass!

Nothing wrong with that Coda. I too am getting spoiled.

We used to do the tenting a lot. Donna and I even did tenting on dual sport motorcycles back in the 80s before it was really cool. We tented by bike all through the Smokies and many places. We also camped in Ontario for years in utter wilderness often on islands as we portaged to remote lakes. I have travelled on vacations a lot been in all 50 states and about a dozen countries. I am ready for some relaxed comfort closer to home and the Ozarks are perfect for that with these latest large modern RVs. :winkn:

I admit it. I have become soft too. My soggy days of tent camping on the hard ground and all of the work are over. 😛 :fishing:

If you can push a button on our current camper you are good to go. Everything is electric. No more cranks. Even the jacks and hitch.

:suprisedn: Nice Coda. But I’m like Mike, back farther and in a tent is fine with me.

Oakey blast me if I am abusing your thread. lol

Right – they you may want to look at one of those new class B’s. They are making a big comeback to do just that. (but are a bit pricy for their size) We had a 27 ft. class C motorhome in the 90s with generator and it might work for that. They come smaller like 23 or 25 ft.. Right now the trend is huge for most. At 37′ we are often the little guy but 35+ has become the norm. My RV salesman said they don’t even stock the small ones except on trade-ins and for some class B’s because they can’t move them any longer.

All of our COE (Core of Engineer) parks in national forests and state parks have been pretty much retrofitted for the large RVs with 50 amp service for some time. The COE parks have gone to large campsites in many cases. Pad lengths up to 90 ft. Of course still nothing like going off the grid but it can be 100 ft through brush or trees to the next camp site here. The days of stacked campers is limited to those private camp grounds which have fallen out of favor like KOA. It’s been 20 years since I was in a KOA. The went near us closed and they redid it reducing the campsites by 50% by a private owner. I think most are gone.

We also have a ton of folks who buy in large private camping parks here. They may own five acres or more lots and ATVs/UTS are welcome. They leave their RV’s parked there permanently. One giant park has lots 20-30 acres about 100 miles from me. They still have electricity running past the properties and cell phone boosters but limited utilities. You can see anyone else typically unless they are riding their powersports around. It has several fishing lakes as well.

Since we live and camp often in the Ozarks the mountains provide a lot of challenges and benefits for camping (we have plenty of black bear running around now). We spend a week on Table Rock Lake each year. The roads around there can be harrowing but the camping places remote. Bull Shoals lake is very remote and offers primitive camping. If you only want primitive remote camping it is also scattered all over the national forests here. My gang is a bit soft for that. LOL They also love trout fishing so we frequently go to the state parks that offer it. (Bennett Springs and Montauk here in Missouri are two we go to frequently and there are maybe 20 parks with trout fishing).
