Just got my 30 cal R3 long off of the UPS truck
Just tracked the UPS driver down. Last night, I was just like a kid on Christmas Eve, I couldn’t sleep a wink.

That was a lung/chest shot but I think a head shot is preferred to minimize meat damage with these monster pellets. Forget about 9mm for squirrels – ok maybe sparrows. 
Oh I forgot about that having too much fun hunting. I compared my .30 and .25 and the air I feel is similar IMO. A very weak puff. Hopefully one of the orings that came with my 30 are for the probe rather than one of the two stretched ones on the probe. I’ll check after work in a while. (I messed around too much already today)
So the report shows that some of the .30 Matador has air puffing out at the probe area. Can you confirm this. I was trying to get the size of the probe O ring so I can order something better/stronger for the .30 owners.
If someone can make a measurement for me, I appreciated. Because of the holidays, it will take about 7-8 more weeks to have orders filled.

WOW 😯 that really ripped his guts wide open,,,,I guess for typical airgun vermin a headshot is totally unnecessary with the .30

Did you have any changes in accuracy dropping the speed from 905 down to 888? I’m going to put about 1200 to 2000 pellets through it before I make any adjustments. Probably will chrony it this weekend. When I test it at 40 to 50 yards if accuracy suffer at distance I may back the speed down sooner rather later.
No. Mine came with HST turned down. I brought it up to 905. And now turned it down to 880
I forgot to mention that was from inside the house on a Caldwell Deadpod. You should see what it did to seven sparrows (and counting). 😯
At 57 yards the pellet still had roughly 53 fpe assuming a BC 0f .043 a few folks have calculated approx. Pretty potent. More than my .25 Matador at the muzzle plus that extra diameter.
Nice shot. Looks like .30 Matador is a keeper! Man that squirrel just got ran over by a Prius. Guts are oozing out in every direction.

I only had a chest shot out of a tree. My neighbor wasn’t too excited about this one. 1st Squirrel taken with a .30 Edgun in the US? 57 lasered yards. Sorry about this OG. 😀
It has nothing to do with not closing the bolt.
I have fired the R3 .25 standard with the bolt in the up position. The noise is scary, but no harm is done. Yes there may be some air may escape through the probe, not enough to cause any damages, unless you put your eyeballs directly at the probe area. I imagine when the hammer releases, it has to strike the air valve to release the air. Now the compressed air has to push the bolt/hammer assembly back (momentum is forward). The bolt may slide back and open up a few millimeter, but most of the air will escaped through the barrel. I have not tried this with a .30 yet, but I will report as soon as I have a chance. I will have to put a piece of wet toilet tissue at the probe area to see if there is enough pressure to put a hole through it. I dont think it is a life threatening issue if you forget to close the probe from time to time. At the same time I would not be careless either.

Yes on the right ear noise. A bit much. Just shot my first nutter with the 30 at about 55 yards. Got to go get a picture of him and deliver him to my next door neighbor who loves to eat them. 😀
Yes bolt probe. Yes its pretty weak, but I can feel it with my cheek/eye. Nothing that I cant live with.

Yeah very loud. I have to wear earplug in my right ear =) it is deafening without ear plug.

So far all I see are reports out to 40 or so yards. Yippee! Now how about someone showing what this great, magnificent, and phenomenal new gun can do out to 60, 75 and maybe even 100 yards. 🙄
