Just ordered a Short one
From Tony, it should arrive in 2 weeks or so after he test shoots it.
I can’t wait, in the mean time what to crown the little one with, a Bug buster ?

I replaced the OEM HST locking hex screw with this nylon tip hex screw.
Those of you familiar with the Crickets AT bleed out, this is the same screw thread size and just the right length too.

Also I found this for the Degasser at my local hardware store the diameter is .2″, the threaded male looks similar to the one Endo posted.
But I’m using the female end, it fit so well that I had to file 2 flat spots on it to release the vacuum pressure.

Also I used 4 tight wraps of Teflon tape on the treaded area of the barrel tread that screws into the LDC back cap.
It has reduced my grouping size by about 35%, it cuts down on any movement caused by barrel resonances/vibrations I’m thinking. I was also thought of cutting/splitting the LDC back cap right down the middle so it acts as a part of the frame clamping system, but it might cause POI shift(ing) issues. If you’re getting tight groups there is no need. But, I’m thinking the next time I’m going to blue Loctite it on. 😈

How did you F this one up? Vortex has a pretty good website with parallax specs clear as day on all their scopes unlike Bushnell and Leupold. Btw, who did you buy from that allows a return after mounting it? Are you going to get hit with restocking fees?
No I am on the hook for shipping fee. It’s funny because I have been researching Vortex scopes and like I said bought four so far. But you are right Votex Optics has a great website where info is east to find and easy to read on all their scopes. It was on sale and I jumped. I have looked at it before a while back and forgot about the higher parallax.

I own a few Vortex Scopes and have sent another one back and all there parallax were 10 – infinity. I was so upset when I couldn’t focus it in at 20 yards at higher magnification and I went to adjust the parallax knob I saw 35 yards. I just shook my head I did a great job with my research.
Yes at lower magnigifcations it shoots fine under 35 yards and it’s accutate. But I ldo most shooting at distances under 30 yards so I miss the awesomeness of this scope. I am inclined to send it back. What a beautiful scope what a shame.
I like the weight for a FFP it’s pretty light.
But how’s the minimum Parallax Setting of 35 yards ?

When I bought this I did not realize that the min parallax setting was 35 yards. Not good when you are shooting 30 yards and under. I am disappointed for some reason I thought the min parallax was 10 yards. It is fantastic glass. Wow. It’s going back and I will have to find a solution.
How does it look when you power down to 2.5-5x at 10-30 yards, it won’t focus down but it should be clearer at lower magnifications (will increase the depth of field in most scopes).
Sometimes you don’t need the 10x at that closer of a range.

I clean out the LDC toady after some 1,000+ pellets thought the gun so far.
Very dirty in there and I didn’t what to have a hard time removing the baffle like I had the first time in.

I made a extraction tool to push out the baffles without damaging them.
Used a piece of CPVC Schedule 40 Pipe (3/8″ x .675″ OD x .473″ ID) and tapered the inside with a counter sink bit, it fits perfectly !
While keeping the pipe on center all the way out, I push and or tap it out with a small 2 oz. wooden mallet, yes I made that too.

On mines I notice that the baffle holes are sized a little differently.
I arrange them form small to larger with the smallest one closest to the muzzle of the barrel.

Is the 4-16 worth the added weight and length over the 3-12 ?
na, I wouldn’t go with the 16x for this pup anyway, to long and to powerful but that just my option.
While testing with the 32x Hawke even at 12x seemed a bit of an over kill, but the gun is improving in accuracy and it should be okay then.

Like the scope Greg on yours too.
Sexy little gun she is.
Cool I didn’t notice they are 1″, I have high rings already. Thanks

sounds sweet dude! :8:

It depends you’re going from a (30mm = 1.18″ tube to a 1″ tube) and from a (Cricket rail top to bore center of 30mm = 1.18″ to a Mutant rail top to bore center of 32mm = 1.26″).
Here is a post tread on adding (rail top to bore center) + ( scope ring base to scope center) = (Scope Height) scope center to bore center for input into ChairGun.
Keeping the measurement separate is a plus when it comes to swapping out one scope between many pups.

Where did you get those nylon-tipped screws from?
