Just ordered a Short one
From Tony, it should arrive in 2 weeks or so after he test shoots it.
I can’t wait, in the mean time what to crown the little one with, a Bug buster ?

Same here I am going through a tank every 7 to 10 days. One tank is a 88 cu ft the other 75 cu ft.
Thanks for the Omega SC info.
Nice having a compressor. How many hours on your Omega and how old is it? Have you had to do any maintenance? My next big purchase will be a compressor.
Thanks Sam !
210 bar fill will get me 24 shots = 2 mags.
My Omega SC came with about 7 hours of test time on it and now it reads 17.4 hours I got it on 06/03/2015.
No maintenance on it yet just turning the lubrication knob after every 4 hours of run time.
Just set it and forget it, pretty much.
I calculated that I would be topping off my CF 75 cubic once a month, but I was wrong.
The compressor makes me shoot more then ever now and I have been topping off the CF tank every week !
Speaking of which, I’m topping it off right now for the weekend !
It takes about 45-60 minutes from 2,000-4,400 psi depending on the bleed time.

Glad you got a shooter Greg. Impressive groups at 50 yards for a new gun. How would you compare the Shorty trigger to the Compact? With the JSB 18.1’s at 27 fpe how many shots are you getting on 200 – 210 bar fill?

I’ve seen the description at WWAG on the 177 cal, I’ll will inquire with Steve.
Thanks Jaime !

they do make a .17 . and if you guys want one i would suggest letting your dealer know you want one. I will assist and passing the info also.
I’m not sure about the .177 Shorty, I wish though I’d buy one in a heart beat !!
With JSB 18g at 25 fpe I’m getting 4 mags = 48 shots, and at 27 fpe 40 shots.
Seems like when ordering you need to ask about the stock color, it depends on the shipment I’m guessing.
The Mutant spoiled me SECoda compared to the Cricket, from the simple drop in mag and very consistent butter smooth trigger.
The hammer slap is very soft and is kind of hard to hear, seems like it’s inline with the sound of the muzzle blast being slightly louder.
The more hammer tension added is cover up by the increase muzzle blast that’s always a bit louder than.
Tuning lower than 25 fpe seem to be even more quiet !
It seems if you use med rings on the Cricket you could get away with low rings on the Mutant, because of the lower profile receiver and it’s beveled edges.
One con might be, the high fill pressure of 245-250 bar is making me top off my CF 75 cube every week.
But, it’s great to have an Omega SC !!

Cool. So it appears there is a .177 Shorty coming? Any eta? How many shots you getting with the .22? 25-27 fpe is perfect. I wonder how faster and lighter JSBs might do? What stock is shipping with them now? (I see a lighter color one in some of the pictures out there)
Cleaned the barrel and it was dirty but very few lead pieces on the first patch compared to before.
Notices also that the lead pieces are very small compared to a barrel with a choke.
Shot group improved by about .2″ at 50 yards, gun is tune to send JSB 18g @ 820 fps.
I didn’t shoot to well today feeling a bit exhausted and run down from work and up late setting up my AF Talon SS 22 cal for sale to a friend.
The middle target I pushed the shot on the left if not it would have been a .45″ group as well.
No wind today, the calm before the storm that’s on it’s way here ETA tomorrow.

I haven’t touch the inside yet but don’t think I need to, I’m happy with it being quiet at 25-27 fpe.
Before go out to shoot I have done small tweaks to the trigger adjustments every now and then till I’m satisfied.
Love the Shorty it’s a real blast to shoot and already it’s about 1/4″ away in becoming just as accurate as my Cricket 22 Standard at 50 yards !

This is the tightening/torque sequence I used that gave me the best results.
Before loosening the frame hex screws I engaged the trigger safety to help with the frame placement relocation.
If you forget to do so you can use the back cap of the LDC and make it flush with the frame.
I filled the AT to top off pressure 245 bars and I also taped the trigger and safety pin so they don’t fall out again.
Using a Wheelers torque wrench I started on the bottom row of hex screws and compete each row before moving on to the next row in blue first, yellow second and red last.
I starting from 5 in/lbs and increased the wrench by 1/2 turn with each sequence until I reached 20 in/lbs.
I went back and torqued the middle row in yellow again.

Shot count 2,340 shot so far. 😀
My Shorty started to stack JSB 18g and 16g at 30 yards the other night at my home range.
Came home from work today and I when to the farm to do some testing at 50 yards.
I haven’t clean the barrel after some 530 pellets so far, so I’m cleaning it tonight.
Hopefully I can redo this test over again to see if a clean barrel helps to tighten it up.
A little breezy and very humid, but the wind die down before the last couple mags.
All targets are 1 mag = 12 shot groups, very happy considering I used a 12x scope.

Remember now your replying on the Taipan Mutant post side of TAG, not Kalibrgun.
That is a locking device for the Mutants HST that shares the same tread size as the Cricket AT bleed out.

Thanks GKU! Going to grab a pack just in case the air-bleed screw on my Cricket goes kaput.
For degassing the airtube without resorting to the bleed screw, I just insert a dowel cut to length and place it in between the hammer and HST screw. Works very well. I have the aluminum HST knob I got from Steve at WWAG a couple of years ago. I just need spare screws in case the stock one gives up even though I don’t use it.
On the photo, the OEM screw is the one on the bottom? Is the white material next to it delrin and what seals the air?
Here you go Spinj, $6.11 per pack of 5.

When you replace this you need to remove the little ball bearing also.
I’d Also think about getting the Imppu HST v3 it’s the best HST for the Cricket and it comes with a degasser so no need to bleed out from the AT anymore.
