MATADOR R3M on it’s way to Norway, – arrived finally….
Yes I know……. ๐ณ ๐ณ ๐ณ
I’ll try not to start another mammut thread like the one here:
http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=19488
– but yes, I have taken the plunge and ordered (and paid for) a brand new R3M std. walnut cal.22. As there are no Edgun representatives in Norway, I have been dealing with Ed directly……
I also ordered a multishot breech to fit on my single shot R3s…….. ๐
So now the wait begins……. ๐ฅ
But this time I am at least prepared for the worst. I don’t expect to get it until towards late autumn………
I’ll keep you updated though, and again shipping is the most difficult issue I think………
We’ll see………
Cheers

Yep. Iยดve noticed the gun laws when iยดve been on a visit to USA. Like you said itยดs for the better AND worse. A friend of mine (a gun freak and all around crazy individual) has loads of weapons for different duties. He always carries around his .357 mag except for those visits at the local titty bar … ๐ฏ
It felt a bit weird strolling around with a guy who you knew had a cannon inside his jacket.
That is so different from here for better or worse. We have no registration for any guns and you can literally walk in and out of a gun store in 10 minutes with a 9mm Glock with only an instant phone call background check. Many women carry guns in their purses while grocery shopping and LOTS of folks are always armed if you get a C&C permit (which we all have above 21). You don’t even need a C&C permit to carry a gun in your car. Even machine guns and silencers are no problem if you complete the registration and pay the govt a small fee. I was in Cabela’s outfitter standing in line about a week ago and we started talking. I was one of 2 folks of the 7 folks in line who did not have a gun on him. Air guns are completely unregulated at any power level. You have to be 18 to buy them. You have to think twice if you’re a bad guy in this state (Missouri).
Cal.30 !!! ๐ฏ
I’m not sure what would happen in this country in terms of regulations if we started to import those. We already have an obligation to register with the police anything above cal.177, but oddly enough we have no limitations on power unlike our neighboring countries Sweden and Denmark. I am not sure this will be the case in future though, – so we try to stay low and behave to avoid further regulations. Staying low is easy enough, – to behave may be a different matter altogether………. ๐ณ ๐ณ ๐ณ
I’ve got my reg.papers approved for the new Matador R3M already, – and they’re valid for one year. Hopefully I’ll be getting it within that timeframe…….. ๐
In the meantime I’ll have to cope with the Matadors I have and of course my little Lady Cricket. My entire Russian harem is btw. going with me to my summerplace tomorrow for some 4 weeks….
Cheers

Thatยดs true. The Swedish & Danish airgun laws are strict in comparison. Finland is the only Nordic country without any restrictions for air powered weapons. As long the thing is propelled by air it doesnยดt matter what caliber or velocity it has. No registration needed but if youยดre under 18 years of age you need a written permission from your parent.
No annual cost…….. ๐
You pay a one time fee of NOK 215 (about USD 35) when you present your “application” to the police (does not matter if you hand in 100 applications or just one, – the price is the same and is valid for one “round” of registration papers). The Police by law cannot deny us the right to own airguns unless we have a criminal record and are below 18. Once you get your stamped papers back, you fill in the details of the gun(s) in question (serial no, make, model) and return the docs to the police who in return issues an ID card for you proving that your gun is properly registered in your name. No further costs are arising.
The ID-card (and registration process) is useful in case your gun gets stolen or disappears in another way. Also good to have facing the insurance company. The card is supposed to follow the gun at all times….
I have a full “deck” of cards and I have to be careful to always bring the right cards with me…………
Also when I move to my summerhouse on the coast, I ring up the local Police and tell them I’m back. They know me, – but I still do it in case somebody freaks out and alert them about an old man with a gun moving around on the island. Keeps me out of trouble, – and gives the SWAT team a little less to do………. ๐

How much does it cost to register all those guns you have per year?
Hmmmmm….

EDguns are worth the wait,IMO, even with some new players out there.
I’m on the list for a 30 cal. but pretty sure I am not going to make the first cut.
Trygve, I am happy for you for being on the list for the R3M!
Edโs mags will probably work better that the mags on the 2 FX guns that I own. I have a 22 cal Royale and a 30 cal Boss.
I get noticeably better 100 yard accuracy using a single shot loading tray on both of my FX air guns.
I am also waiting on a new Matador. It is a 30 cal and, the last that I heard; it will be here in July.
I donโt know if I will see it in July; I have been waiting for it for at least 9 months and; it will get here when it gets here!
Whenever it shows up; it will be my 6th Matador.
It doesnโt matter how many Matadors that you have; the wait doesnโt get any easier! ๐
Brand new gun and first thing he does is dry fire. Funny. Mag storage in rail gap is convenient.
if i knew ed wasnt going to make a kit for the .22 i would have sold mine to buy the R3M but being that im on the list for a kit….i can wait….theres no need for the same rifle with an add on that i can buy for mine…
You lucky dog! ๐
I guess this is guy is feeling more or less what I’ll be feeling when it arrives:

Apparently a lot has been shipped out to Russian customers already…….. ๐
Shit, I thought I would not mind waiting this time…….. ๐ณ ๐ณ ๐ณ

Laws vary greatly from state to state even with regard to air guns.
