For me, Krytech has no significant effects on JSB’s or Kodiaks.
Napier Powerlube seems to speed them up a tiny bit.
If my gun doesn’t mind lube, I use it [to keep the barrel clean]
However, my Matador prefers its pellets with no sauce.
Though, the difference doesn’t show up until 80+ yards.
It is BreakFree Hoot…. That is all I have ever used so I don’t know if
anything else is better or worst..
Mam’ What specific lube have you found to do the best job?

I got tired of cleaning the barrel every 1,000 rounds and decided to go back
to lubed pellets in hopes that the barrel maintenance would be somewhat
eliminated….. The first 20 shots or so were really erratic and then the POI
shifted up 1.5 mildots and 1 mildot to the right…. I thought that was odd so I
ran some shots through the chrony and the gun was running 945FPS… I
know without a doubt that it was doing 915FPS before the lube…. So I
mounted the .22cal and checked the velocity and it was around 910FPS… I
lubed some .22cals and the FPS jumped to 935FPS… I had to adjust the
spring tension on both guns to get the POI and speed back down…. Both
guns were inaccurate at the higher speed…. The .25cal is now @ 925FPS and
the .22cal is @ 906FPS… The .22 is shooting 1/2″ @ 65 with 18.1 and 16.0gr
pellets The 16.0gr are doing 960FPS….

I was shooting some trees today in the Coyote hunting spot to get an idea of
yardages and mildot holdover. Hopefully I will get to use this information
some day…lol
132yds resting the front of the gun on the top of a fence rail and shouldering
the butt. 5.5 mildots below the cross-hairs… Picture is from my phone and the
white thing is a cigarette butt for reference… I measured it with calipers and
it was 2.168″ for 4 shots…. Upper right is a knot hole… It was my Point Of
Aim.
Man you can kill a pig with a 177. You just need those 2.3 grain .177 gamo solid nuclear core pellets 🙂

I think you might have read about Nomadic Pirate shooting two with his Rainstorm.
Right now I’m laying off shooting bigger pigs as I’m not comfortable with the fpe that my Edgun is generating. That’s why I’m seriously thinking about a 25 Edgun and custom bullets.

Yea Mark, spending 2k on a pellet gun (gun+tax+scope+pellets+accessories) is hard to sneak past miss radar… but I know a Matador is in my future.
Read about your pig shoot. Two wasn’t it? Just amazing that a pellet gun can take out a pig. I have a posse of raccons around my place but it seems word got out about my Royale and they’ve gone into hiding.

I know what you mean when your wife says “you’re nuts”. We must’ve married sisters 😆
Anyhow, I was in the same boat as I was going with a Royale but my order got messed up and cancelled. I’m sure that I would have been happy with a Royale but I’m glad I got the Edgun instead.
Short,compact, built like a tank, easy to adjust, great shot count, and is regulated. Guess you can tell that I love my Edgun. Forgot to mention ACCURATE (maybe because it’s boring accurate you take it for granted 😆 )
Like you it will be awhile before I can purchase another quality airgun. Next on my wish list is another Edgun but in 25. Oldgoat and Mamcrackin have layed the ground work on this gun and it’s a shooter.
I haven’t compared the long and short but I can say that the standard Matador is very quiet. Don’t have anything to compare it to but the small pig that I shot, the surrounding herd wasn’t alarmed when the shot went off. Shot distance was thirteen yards.

Ya know Don, there is always the short version too…. I am not sure of the
specifications on it but it is even shorter than the standard
You guys are fast… good to know I can go with the shorter version. Save a few bucks and it will slide into a backpack nicely for getting into the hills. What a cool toy! My airgun addition is only 2 years old but I’ve already cycled though several guns, and having just bought the Royale, I’m going to have to wait a bit before making another purchase. My wife thinks I’m nuts as it is…

The standard is the perfect gun Don…. I am not sure if the long version
is any quieter because it is really hard to make these things any more
silent… As much as it seems as though a longer barrel would increase
accuracy, it does not…. It will only gives you the ability to shoot faster with the same amount of air.

These groups are at 80 and 100yds…. The .22 seems to be responding well
to the lube… No ill effects that I can see….. There is one thing for sure, if I
don’t stay with the shot and keep the scope on target throughout the shot
cycle, my groups will open up and become erratic…
