Great looking gun OG. Somehow, the long barrel makes the Matador looks TOUGH and MEAN, not to mention it is in .25 cal 😈

One of my friends asked if you could post a picture of the long and short together. One is interested in the 25 and the other in the 22 . One has been in contact with Tony and I told him to follow this thread.

I had not planned on using the Kodiaks or EunJin pellets. Ed says that you have to clean and reseason the barrel, when you change pellets.
That’s my story and I am sticking to it! Me leaving them at home had nothing to do with being excited and in a hurry to start shooting! 😆
I got the barrel cleaned, the inlead and crown are polished, all I need is some sleep and air and I am gonna try again!
Yes, I did just about crap when the bolt went slack. I just sat there, for 2-3 minutes dumbfounded, thinking SHIT!, I am going to have to send this back to Tony or order parts, or just shoot myself. And then I thought “how can you shoot yourself, you just broke your damn gun?! 😆
Mam, I have thought about the standard spring and think I will give it a try.
Before I left the house, my standard could tell that I was getting ready to go shooting. When I got back today, it was sitting on the back of my couch, looking out the window, wondering where the hell I went and trying to figure out why I left him home.
I had a dog that use to do that!
Do not take away that white washer from the barrel. It is installed to prove the end of the barrel off vibrations. When you will clean the barrel and remove the shroud you will find out that. I have that washer iinstalled on all long Matadors.
Very nice. If these are still available in a couple years when I move I think a long .22 may be high on my list.

60+ shots at 890fps is unreal! I can’t believe you left the Kods at home. I bet they would stack up at 900fps w/out the gusting wind. Does Tony accept credit cards? I gots to have me one of those.

Good first report. You have a lot more work to do. I bet the groups will immediately improve on your return trip – maybe because the wind will have died down – certainly because your adrenaline levels will have gone down. 😉
I haven’t taken the shroud apart yet.
Just got back from the range. I was shooting at about 55 yards. I forgot my rangefinder. My best group was .590. The groups were not good at first but, started to tighten up as the day went on. I should have gave the barrel a good cleaning before I headed out. I had oil leaking out of the front of the shroud and out of the small holes in the back.
There was a gusting wind that did a lot of direction changes. I shot over 400 JSBs and ran a 66 CF scba tank from around 3900 down to 2900psi.
When I got to the range, the first thing I did was adjust the trigger. I then turned the gun down to 890fps and started shooting. I was still on my first fill and was cocking the gun, I had the bolt about halfway back and it lost the spring tension.
WTF, I just broke my new Edgun! 😯 I took the breech off and the hammer had no tension on it. I pulled the gun out of the stock and the hammer spring adjuster had backed out and fell off. I had to turn it out so far to get down to 890, that the locking screw missed the rear of the adjuster. I had fun getting the adjuster started. That hammer spring is strong.
I started in, again, at 910fps. I didn’t count the number of shots on that fill but, I know that it was over 60. I used a target up on that fill and I get 60 shots per target. The gun wasn’t grouping very well so, I started upping the pressure and trying some groups.
I ended up back at 1040fps. The wind was starting to die down some and I got the .590 then. I ran out of air on the next group. At 1040, the gun gets 35-40 shots before the speed drops off. When it does drop, there is still about 1850psi in the tank. I am going to drop the speed down to 950 and start from there, next time.
Ed may very well be right, the .25 cal may need heavier pellets. I left the Kodiak and EunJin at home, I will try them next time.
I need to get my tanks filled and the barrel cleaned before I go back.
Looks like you have the 2nd gen shroud that comes apart in the front and back. Ed probably came up with that spacer on the end to stop the movement backwards. That is one thing that was a little annoying as I
would put the shroud back on the rifle a twist one way would loosen the other side and push the rear cap back too far. Not a big deal just had to
be very slow and deliberate screwing the thing back on.
Are the baffles delrin cones or metal ? The metal ones look like oversized washers set at different angels.
