Q:

My .25 Cal. Long Matador, Groups added

I tracked the UPS driver down.

I think that I will go shoot it for about 8 hours!

All this Edgun talk has got me dreaming of a Matador in .22. Don’t think I need the .25. I’m assuming the long version (besides getting a few more shots due to the larger reservoir) is a tad quieter and might be a tad more accurate due to a longer barrel…. any thoughts? If there was no real noise or accuracy advantage I’d probably save a few bucks by getting the standard model…. any thoughts? Having just bought a FX Royale I’m going to have to start a Matador savings account first though.

Thanks,

Don

Longer barrel does not give better accuracy as a rule, just more fps.

Thanks Mam. I’ve got my .25 to shoot 1.25 – 1.50 ave 100 yard groups on paper but, it seems to hit anything I try to hit at 100 yards.

I haven’t figured that one out yet!

I can make a vid of the 20 shells, I have no idea how to post it.

Well if it is hitting what you’re aiming at then, trying to figure it out could only
make it worse…. Just keep doing what you’re doing…

You would have to upload the video to Photo Bucket first then, post the link
here just like a picture….

Ted can show you how, I never upload video on youtube before but I am very sure you need to register with them to get a login account, then upload the video, then share it.

Nice job goat… looks like you have that thing in the groove….

I got this little guy yesterday. The shot was at around 40 yards, I leaned the .25 against a tree to steady it. The shot went in right behind his left ear and came out thru his mouth. I went back today to get some of his buddies, they didn’t want to come out and play.

I got tired of waiting, I thought that I would go to the range for a while. I set up a 100 yard target and checked the guns zero. I had to adjust the windage a little. I got tired of punching paper and saw some 12 guage sheels laying around. I picked up 9 and set them up at 100 yards. I didn’t count the number of shots it took to get all 9. I only found 6, the other 3 flew into the weeds. Some I hit first shot and some took 2-3 tries. I doubt that I took over 20 shots total.

The next time I make it out there, I want to set up about 20 and count the number of shots needed.

I shot the EDgun .22cal under the same conditions as the .25 and I am getting the same groups with both… I think that the guns are out shooting me and that the fliers are nerves not the guns…

I thought the same Ted. I have been also sorting by weight without any
measurable change in the size of the groups…. Maybe I am just expecting
too much at 100yds…

You guys are definitely starting to dial those in.

I see a lot of “3 in one area – 2 in another”. [Provided shooter error isn’t the cause] that kind of thing makes me suspicious that some pellets are picking up a small scar somewhere along the way.

I went to the range again tonight. I made a couple more adjustments and the groups are getting better except for the fliers. I got a .660 tonight.

I think that my rifle rest is causing some of the fliers and POI shifts. I want to try shooting off of sandbags next. Here is todays last target.

Still got your addy, will get it off to you.

Thats very kind of you Pab, Do you need my address again?

Are you using those timing shims to get it to line up correctly or did it just work right off the bat?

Ive got to think of a way so that it can be rotated but still have the bit that will stop the hammer trying to fire the bottle out the back.

Back to the drawing board

Dave

Lol, yes mate its yours if you want it.

Keeping your cards close to your chest? 😀

Are you using it or going to use it? Ill get that threaded bushing to you as soon as I can, but I’m guessing you need it to line up to the dropped E-Tac….. balls

Dave
