Q:

My Cricket Bullpup Wood Stock Hack

I’ve been meaning to do this for quite some time now, and I finally have some time to do so.
Stay tune while I hack off some serious weight off this old Pug.

I’ll be posting as I go, thanks for L@@king !

Warning this is and will be a drunken post / thread, please be kind.

Sometimes, and sometimes only … “downsizing” your wood and and making it “slimmer” is a terrible thing if you’re really looking to impress … just saying.:winkn:

Zonk

Telling GKU he has a nice wood, Sounds funny…
Your not cross dressing again are you.

Did you end up making a stock out of Curly Koa? You’ve got lots of skills with some simple tools laying around.

Back in the late 1990 the price of premium Curly Koa was tied up with the price with Gabon Ebony, about $80 a board feet (1″x12″x12″).
In the anticipation of it going up even further I bought enough of it to last me 2 lifetime of building Ukes when I retired.
I’m glade I did I’ve heard its about anywhere between $100-$450 a board foot now, outrageous. 🙄

I thought you guys would like to see some of my private stash of rare Hawaiian Curly Koa Wood.

Those are not saw marks on the wood but actual figure on the wood itself, I wet them down so you can see it better.
The two pieces on the left are cut offs used to make this Uke I made and sold years ago. http://gkuhi.tripod.com/photo/uke15/4.jpg

GKU, not sure if it’s possible but you should make a form of that stock & pour some lightweight polymer stuff (that’s technical lingo :biggrinn: ) and sell those. I prefer the wood but would love to have that stock style wood or not

aw, the AT fore grip with a new cheek rest I hope,,,, , , , way cool !

Beats that wooed ones I’ve seen on the Russian forum.
They look like it can slip off and drop your gun.

Thanks Larry,

How is your Hummingbird ?

The Hummer is in transit from Ernest…should be here this week. I’m getting excited! LOL

I also designed an accessory attachment inspired by Davi of Brazil’s. It’s one piece and 3D’ed out of black nylon. Hate to say what it cost me to have made ($$$)…LOL

I will post photos when everything arrives.

Great looking stock Greg.
