Q:

My Cricket Bullpup Wood Stock Hack

I’ve been meaning to do this for quite some time now, and I finally have some time to do so.
Stay tune while I hack off some serious weight off this old Pug.

I’ll be posting as I go, thanks for L@@king !

Warning this is and will be a drunken post / thread, please be kind.

Take your time there not too much boooze….lets not get carried away GKU

There was no WAGG yet when I got my standard Cricket but I got the Compact from WAGG a year later which is now a year ago. I think it was a bad decision by Kalibrgun but the skeletons were more expensive to make and the factory priced them higher.

I remember when I first got my two Crickets the skeleton stocks were a plenty and everyone had to have a bulldog. 😆 I always go for as short and light as possible.

When I got my first Cricket from WWAG the skeleton was out of stock at that time, only BP in synthetic and wood.
I’m glad I at least picked the wooden one (even though it’s a Son of a Bitch Stock), for a day like this one to do this hack job on it.
I favor a nice woody !

Months ago I bought a skeleton stock from WWAG Mat and that was the last of it ever since.
A 😥 shame !

I’m star getting tired about my cricket weight, I might replace the stock with the Rapid one, it looks nice a weight almos half of mine!

Yes, I looked into that as well…..
But I already had an extra wooden BP stock just sitting under the bed doing nothing.

Hey Zonk, ya we can drink and get drunk ,,, , , pass the tools over to Donny and let him do the work.

Great tip WingMan I’ll see what I can do.
I need to be careful there is a screw that holds on the butt pad right around where the KG logo is.

Well the Beech wood cuts like Oak and carves like Mahogany, with a nice and consist texture.

This is an old joint fitting technique I used to fit the piece into the joint.
Shape the piece that I acquired from right underneath the best I could and place it into the area with 220g sandpaper in-between.
While pushing lighty on the piece pull the sandpaper out from under it, repeat as you see fit.

I used my Dremel pin router setup because it allows me to see where I’m cutting.
Unlike the traditional table type, you can’t see shit what you’re cutting pass. 😯

Hack off the center support, kind of like the separation of a Siamese twin you never know the out come until after. 😳

GKU, if I buy the beer can I come over and watch/hand you tools? I get to drink beer too!!! So far looking nice.

definitely a worthy mod to a very very fat stock.. I never understood why Kalibrgun made this stock so chunky.. if you use a 3/4″ drill to remove material from inside the fore grip and under the recoil pad you will loose a bit more fat also..

I bet it’s going to come out ridiculously good looking from a woodworker like you :8:
