Q:

New $210 Tuxing 4500psi compact compressor

After much deliberation I have bought a compressor to fill my PCPs and pony bottles.
I was torn between spending decent money on a Bauer JNR or just take a risk on a cheep Chinese job.
The new Altaros booster looked great but it still relies on a regular work shop compressor to operate which would mean I would have to spend more money upgrading my current workshop cheapo or it would soon let me down.

So after searching many cheap Chinese compressors I found this one that is very well priced and fairly new to the market.

Size L 35cm x W 18cm x H 34cm
Net Weight 17KG
Power 220V-240V 50HZ or 100-130V 60HZ
Motor Power 1.8 KW Pressure :300bar/4500psi
Inflating speed 2800r/min
Noise78DB

Fill an empty 500cc bottle to 300bar in about 5 minutes and direct airgun cylinders topped up from 120bar to 300bar in 2 mins

It boasts a new design water jacket for better cooling than the open tube tube compressors and seems to have some really great reviews so far.

I had no real need to fill 12ltr dive bottles with a compressor (which Im sure this one will do) so a lightweight will suit my needs.
It will be mainly used to direct fill my PCPs, top up my 500cc backpack bottle from 180 to 300bar and top up my 3ltr pony bottle from 180bar to 240bar.
Between them all I have more than enough air for an outing.
I had some reserves about build quality but it is a very simple unit and I had the seller pack in enough piston seals, O rings and plastic seats to rebuild the thing ten times over for a very reasonable $7 extra.
The Seller was extremely helpful and seems to know his product with full back up service parts available.
Fuxing my Tuxing looks to be very simple and it lends itself to loads of upgrades such as a larger oil/air separator.
I just received a litre of high quality Special Bauer full synthetic breathing air compressor oil which cost me a crazy $70 but there is enough for 4 services. (1000 hour intervals)

The unit arrived in New Zealand from China via TNT in a very speedy 4 days! Currently being held in customs but I hope to see it any day now.
Ill add to my review as I spend some time using it.

My expectations are realistic with any Chinese purchase but the price seemed right on this one.. It is really not much more than a motorised 2 stage hand pump and keeping that in mind the price is very reasonable.
I will be using it for very short intervals not hours on end like the shoe box compressor etc require so wear and tear should be a lot less.

jmde , I had no problems with Windage on any of the four scopes , just the elevation Turrets didn’t work at all . I even
took all four scopes to my local gun dealer to make sure that I wasn’t the problem and he said that the scopes came
straight from the manufacture totally unusable . He also wondered about the manufactures’ quality control people , if
they had any at all . Also said that four scopes having the same problem seemed to him that no one was really checking
these scopes for quality at all , just letting them go through the plant and not caring about it .

jmde , on all four of the brand new Leapers Bug Buster scopes 2 that I bought and the 2 that Leapers replaced the same problem
was that the elevation to these 4 scopes would not work at all . In fact it seemed that they came brand new but the elevation Turrets
were broken and all the scopes would not move in any elevation direction at all . The Turrets would just spin without making any clicking
noise at all and the scopes would not move in elevation at all . I think that the guy from the company that I dealt with name was
Andrew , I told him what was the fuck wrong with their quality inspectors for his company ? How can 4 scopes have the same problem
even when he sends me 2 brand new scopes . He never responded after that and so I said to myself fuck leapers and all of their scopes .
From that time on I would tell anyone how Leapers fucked me and I will never have any of their scopes even if they sent another one
free .

Thanks B-man

I checked my second Bugbuster and the elevation turret clicks were not very distinct and wobbly/mushy
I am returning it as defective – no cost and full refund
Going to triple check the other one to make sure the elevation and windage actually moves something

Let’s just hope it wasn’t the hex screw on topp of the turrets that was loose. The one that makes you reset the turrets zero or whatever.

What exactly was wrong with your BugBuster scopes?
When did you get yours? Where? Usually, if there is a defect found shortly after you get something; the seller has to pay to swap them out.

I just bought two and mounted/inspected one. It’s crisp, clear, nice lighting, good clicks, straight reticle. Guess I should double-check the other one.

When ever you buy cheap from China , Buyer be wear ! I bought two brand new Bug Buster scopes and both were garbage .
Sent both in and cost me $23.00 each back to company , they sent me two new Bug Buster scopes and out of the box both
scopes had the same problem as the first Two , all four were garbage . All together I paid around $250.00 out of pocket and
now I won’t buy any scopes from Leaper . Sometimes we learn the hard way .

I’m glad you guys are doing well with yours, I bought one and it worked for 3-4 minutes and stopped. I turned the power switch off right away and waited then checked to see if the reset button needed to be reset it was ok. I turned it back on and then noticed it wasn’t topping off my gun anymore. I went back and forth with the seller about this for awhile and finally took the cylinder head off to check the rings one looked like it was leaking so I replaced all 4. I put it togeather and fired it up and all was well for awhile I finished topping off my rifle a benj.disco and procedded to top off my others all while giving a 10 munite rest inbetween each gun and putting more ice in my 6 gallon bucket. I got to my pistol to top it off and the whip hose blew out. So I took the stainless one off my handpump and fitted it on and proceced to finish and it wouldn’t build pressure again. I ordered a new stainless hose from another seller on alibaba and new rings from my seller of the compressor Dave Su. He was very nice and appoligetic about the whole situation but as of right now I’m still waiting for the parts to see if I can get this sortted out or if I will end up with a $355 paper weight. Not very happy at the moment.

Cool, I have a 12L 300 bar tank but will not use My compressor for it, I pretty much only bought this compressor so I can fill My CF 0.5L bottle to 280-300 bar. It is My portable backpack fill Kit in the field. But I can’t fill it to such a high pressure from My divers bottle, it runs out too Quick.

How long are you planning on running this thing? Are you gonna fill big tanks or something?

Perhaps – if/when I get a tiger or GW tank. I would like to be able to top if off from 180 bar back up to 300bar

or from 3600 psi to 4500 psi

I suppose if I get this compressor, I can get by with a smaller bottle and just refill it myself more often…just have to decide

How long are you planning on running this thing? Are you gonna fill big tanks or something?

You dont need ice in the water I was just experimenting. One gallon would be too small, you need at least 4 gallons and even then it will benefit from a water change every 15mins if you are doing longer fills.
If you read back through my review you will see that I dont recommend filling any tank from empty larger than 3 litres with this little compressor.

Why does the water need to be changed?

It warms up to the same temp as the head.. add mpre cold water or change it completly to keep head temp below 40 deg c

I am thinking of using a cheap foam cooler or dollar store cooler bag, place one gallon jug water inside with several .5l Frozen water bottles should keep the water cold without hassles of changing water too often?

Thank you!

So how do you drain the compressor? Remove the cap like when you filled it with Oil and turn the compressor upside down?

Or do you unscrew the big nut that is also the viewing window for the Oil level? And let it drain out that way?

The drain plug is the little 6mm bolt below the sight glass. It has a small oring under it.
