😀 They done a show on TV involving a 50 caliber Machine Gun, now that gun was one like I used in Vietnam. It shoots 2910 FPS 619 grain Bullet making 11,637 Foot pounds of energy, affective range is 2000 yards.
The question was how far can a person be under water before he would be safe from that gun.
After the test was ran, 3 feet below the water and it is impossible to hold the gun on the person and hit him.
Of course I recon they used a dummy don’t know I got on in the middle of the test. It was on the show that shows all kinds of Jobs clean and dirty and all kinds of weird experiments, well! That was one of them. :4
Mythbusters?
They did a experiment with different caliber weapons and found that the bigger the bullet the faster it dissipated it’s energy into the water.

LOL It’s all in fun.
Ive seen the dragon slayer shoot through about 3 or 4 soda pop plastic containers filled with soda pop and spew all over the place.
Thats fine but not impressive to me.
Now this past winter i took my 25 caliber Condor, barrel bought from Tony along with the shroud. I don’t use the shroud right now, not necessary.
But I filled up a walmart flavored 31 ounce bottle with water and it froze solid and clear as a crystal not a place in it that wasn’t frozen solid.
At 15 yards the 25 caliber condor shooting a 43 grain pellet shot plum through it.
Now I done saw frozen chickens mentioned and saw jugs of water busted, but freeze you a 31 ounce water bottle solid. And you don’t have to show me, just tell me teh results. 😛 I’m satisfied with myself on the issue. I never tried teh 308, but it would probably shatter it all to peaces, or the time. Now thats what impresses me, not liquid or soap LOLOL a block of soap? Did I read that right on here one time? LOLOL not even worth the pellet . Soap wouldn’t slow that 308 down LOLOL.
Let me add this, the FPS with the pellets Ive used 130, 115 and 75 shoots in the vicinity of what he is showing.
And at 40 yards I shoot through a 1” block and don’t even move it. I done posted the pictures.
I wish I had a camera to put on some motion.
Ive seen lots of for and against, this gun verses that gun, but the truth is, the Manufacturer themselves says the bigger guns don’t shoot any better that what you’ve seen in this film unless you send the gun to someone to have it peaked and tweaked by someone else. Makes me wander if The person making the gun is inexperienced or the person tweaking it is aver rating teh valve by doing the mods they do.
Ive see some after affects of the mods and after extensive shooting you see broken and enlarged valves and stuck plungers and all kinds of bad after affects of the gun.
I am also a radio operator and the Peek and tweaks of the Radio art has messed up a lot of radios and thats facts backed by Experience, I don’t peek and tweak a gun, if it don’t shoot out of the box right then it goes back to the guy who made it now a tweak shop.
I saw a film on YouTube of a Discovery with a bolt to make it shoot faster screwed in teh rear of the cum, The Chrono showed in the 700’ds, I’m assuming it is a 22 , mine out of teh box with 14 grain pellets will shoot in the high 800’ds, so much for teh peak and tweak shops.
My guns like my radios are Virgin and no one is getting his hands on my mechanisms to goof up and cause me trouble later on. If I need the 308 fixed it will go back to randy, and if the warranty is out I’ll have to pay for the fix, but thats the only place it will go for fixing. Not to any peek and tweak shop for sure. I have a theory and it goes like this, the man that made it knows more about it than the man with the sandblaster and teh polishing wheel. 😀

That post was tweakin’! 😆
Who can argue with such eloquent wisdom?
Surely not I.

He He….love that avatar….LOL! 🙄
Pussies
The only deer i lost is when i was wearing my loin cloth and jumped on the deers back and tried to kill it with a toothbrush prison shank
It didnt work out too well
thats why i got the nine no more lost deer for me
Plus i only shoot them at 40yds or less either in the head or heart if the conditions aint rite ill slap them with my pecker
More important than how many deer anyone has killed, is how many deer they lost. Those are the ones you don’t hear about.
Yes he has killed a few, not too many tho, there was a thread on it on the yellow. That does not make him an expert. Shooting water jugs does not make him an expert, he is an expert on casting bullets. But how many were killed by him with a 308 and what was he selling?
Again check your states regs for power limits, what do they recommend. This does not even come to the level of a 158 38 spl which was used by the police for decades on deer sized targets and proved inadequate. I have killed deer with a 38 specail and found it lacking in power.
Ever hear of the 22 Hi power? Same controversy same conclusion nearly 100 years ago, the answer was use enough gun.
And part of that answer was under ideal conditions it will work, it will kill a deer, so will a #2 lead pencil hit with the heel of our hand and held between the ribs. Seldom do we get such ideal conditions.
But I, and other knowledgeable hunters on this thread have shared enough experience with you 308 fans, go make your own mistakes.

Back to the original topic. Here is a link to Robert Vogels review on a .308 Corsair. Near the end he says after shooting the 158 grain hp that “its a killer deer round”. I would think that he has shot a deer or two with a airgun.

What the Hell does this have to do with shooting a deer with a .308 airgun? Let’s get back to the main feature here!
Roach can kill as many deer with .32 pistols or .22 rifles as he wants but Shaggy is not allowed to mention he might give it a go with a .308 air rifle.
Ready, set, fight!
