Goes back to what I have long pointed out
prior to the Second World War the most common “deer” rifle in the upper midwest was a stinkin’ .22 RF. Even as I youngster I knew pleanty of oldtimers in the Northwoods of MN that persisted in using .25-20 & .32-20 lever guns during Deer season regardless of the law
not alot of difference between a factory load in either of those rounds and a 200 FPE .308 AG
Hell what do ya suppose .32 and .38 rim fire rifles were used for in the day? 😉

I am curious to what this new rifle will do when a variety of end users have it in their hands. I have taken a pretty much wait and see attitude but it performs, the money is right

I think thats the smart thing to do and I think a lot of folks are….

I am not in the market for one as I have a lower powered (70fpe) .32 by Jack Haley and a DAQ 308… and for the big stuff, a 909s .45 and DAQ 50…. but for those looking to get a ‘small’ big bore, this has potential.

I still am not convinced that it is the best alternative for deer. I know that Randy is marketing it for game up to deer sized… but I’d really want a bit larger for deer. I’ve taken deer with my DAQ 50 and hope to take one this year with the .45 909s, but I dont think I’d think about trying it with my 308

Just found where he was using 125gr… at 600fps, that is just a RCH under 100fpe… same as a 45gr RB at 1000fps.

Not busting chops, just pointing out.

Still is slow as compared to other numbers so may want to check with Randy. You’d mentioned that it was starting to rain on your testing, so maybe an overcast day had some effect on your chrony?

I doubt you will get much over what you are now getting in velocity without major valve mods.
my advice would be to talk to Rich in MI and have him rebuild the valve for big bore HPA
hes pushing a 1000FPS with round balls for a 4 or 5 shot string
still putting my Big Bore QB together
Rich’s custom tapered barrel, breech/bolt mods and big bore PCP valve in a Jack Haley tube dropped in a Richards Microfit thumbhole.
Striker assembly is out of a CO2 tranqulizer dart rifle with a side cocker. Much heavier striker/spring.
Figure once everything is said and done it hopefully should be good for 4 or 5 shots in the 900 FPS range using projis cast from a 110 grain M1 Carbine mold that I am waiting to get back from getting modded to hollow point which should drop weight down well under a 100 grains.
Don’t care for the QB trigger group, might try and adapt a Marauder unit to it.
Too many projects going on at once… 😆

Dont send it to Rich in Mich. He does great work, yes…. but 1000fps with the RB’s in .310 is around 100fpe.

I didnt catch what size bullet Shaggy is using, but the Corsair will produce over 200fpe with the heavy bullets….

So I’d recheck chrony numbers and if you are not getting numbers up to spec, let Randy know. No need to send this off to someone else.

Here are some numbers posted with a 3000psi fill and various bullet weights on the Corsair….

55 gr – 1040, 1104, 1096, 1051, 964 – 5 shots Highest power shot gave 148 fpe

68 gr – 969, 1037, 1036, 987, 876 – 5 shots Highest power shot gave 162 fpe

120 gr – 821, 869, 835, 779 – 4 shots Highest power shot gave 201 fpe

162 gr – 658, 766, 778, 733 – 4 shots Highest power shot gave 217 fpe

Shaggy,
Did you use 125gr. for all the shooting? Also what chrono are you using? Yea and pics would be great!!!

I got the crono from Pyrmid air it is the cheep one and the pellets came with the gun 125 grain all in one package. I never lubed them next try i’ll lube them and see what happens and try to get some pictures. I like that gun.

How do I post this picture?
This is the only way I can show it, 25 Yards and yes they are all three there. The 2 holes on the top is where I drove my nails LOL.
There are 3 shots right there, yep right there to the right of the Quarter. This Gun is a Beast.

I have to add this to the post. Since I supercleaned the barell and lubed the pellets the shots seemed faster. I’ll set up the chrono later and see.

Now do it all again but with pictures this time. 😀 😆

I’ll get some pictures as soon as the weather breaks.
It will do better next time I done the final clean and I’d say I’ll probably get better FPS.
I moped the barrel with a cloth mop and used clean rags to prep the barrel and I took some break free , just a little squirt and used it on a clean rag and ran it in and out of the barrel and got a lot more yucky stuff out of the barell, so the barell is clean now and I’m going to also lube the pellets, I didn’t do that last time.
That was just a pre prep.
The Best is yet to come 😀
Its a dandy little gun and light too.
I hope it holds up because it is hard to beet the way it is,. But it will be better with the Barell cleaned.
My Marauders and Condor done better after the final prep. So it’s ready, just waiting on a good day. Maybe tomorrow, I also got some batteries for the Camera while I was down the rod.

Now do it all again but with pictures this time. 😀 😆

Mine is in the mail. Ordered it today, can’t wait to see how it works, done got me a scope, and have all the air it needs, so CPR is no problem lolol. 😛

Got my 308 Today.
as I said I am a 25 to maybe 50 yard shooter.
I used a Laser Bore Slighter to set the scope and shot it on a 3 power at 25. I wanted about an Inch low, the first two shots was a little more than an inch low, being that the laser site was used I considered that Outstanding. I went up about maybe 8 to 10 clicks didn’t count them and filled the gun back to between 3100 and 3200, I didn’t have a gage in line but I refilled my tank to 3200 for each test.
I used a 80 Cubic feet scuba tank and filled it with my compressor.
I filled the Gun from the tank.
OK now at this time gun shooting and right at where i wanted it at 25 I set up my Chronograph, and here is the score you all have probably been waiting for.
First I must apologize because I didn’t write down the second shot because I was excited about the first hitting right where I wanted it, and All three shots at 25 was smaller than a Quarter, Nope I didn’t set up my Camera either no batteries, wouldn’t you know it?
Any way the First shot at between 3100 and 3200 PSI I got 610 FPS on the first shot, and the Third shot I got 542.5 FPS as stated I goofed on the second and it started Drizzling rain so i oiled the stock up and wiped the gun down and put it up.
The gun is a straight shooter Sound between a 22 long rifle and a 22 magnum shooting towards my garage, about IMO a 4 on the loudness scale, to tell the truth my Condor with out the shroud is louder., in a 25 caliber.Condor shooting a 43 grain bullet at around 900+ can’t remember .
Oh and if it has a safety on it I cant find it. It show a safety but it has a plunger sticking down, Don’t know how to use it, no instructions with it.
Over all the Gun is a steal for the money.
I hope I’m not speaking immaturely, time will tell. Now I need to order some more Pellets cause I’m keeping this gun. 😀
I might try some of those round balls, but if I do I’d just ruin the purpose for buy it. The 125 grains from adventures in airguns does just fine.
By the way does any one know if I can use regular 308 copper ballistic tips with this thing?
I’m not going to try till I get a definite answer. Thanks for reading. And if you can you need to get one of these guns, they don’t make them any more accurate than this.

I want one with the stock added, and I can send the money to the web site as soon as the gun is ready.
