Q:

New R3 .25…..damaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I literally received my R3 .25 just 5 minutes ago from UPS, but there’s some very serious problems.

1. The case zipper is completely cut through on each side.

2. But, wait a minute. Holy cow!!!! The walnut stock is completely cracked. If I pull on it with the sightless effort, I’m sure that whole piece would fall off.

I can understand damage can occur during transport, but there’s no visible damage to the containing box. I can’t believe I waited 9 months and paid $2050.00 for this.

Tony – I sent you a mail. Please advise.

Sorry to hear about your stock. I’d have to agree with most people here, UPS is probably to blame on this. I’ve worked for UPS and I’m suprised most packages make it to their destination in one piece. I’d be happy to buy that broken stock from you if you decide to sell it, maybe that will make it a bit easier for you to get a replacement. Let me know if you decide to sell it , my email is ttik2k@Yahoo dot com
Good luck

Samuria998,

I can’t see pictures….. can you guys see it or not

P.S. it’s so sad, when you’re waiting that long and get something like that

My Edgun R3 .22 long & R3 .25 long will be here on Monday 5-14-2012 (I hope nothing will happen to my package, but I will check package well before I sign for it)

samuria998,

You want some advise…be it a smidgen devious.

Climb your roof, drop that box, smash up the end a little.

UPS, will FWY on this claim. If there is no VISABLE damage they WILL deny the claim.

We KNOW Tony did not ship it like that, he said so, so UPS DROPPED IT!

If they FWY, send me an email, I will find the phone to national.
If You call national, heads roll…things get taken care of.

1. IMHO the zipper lock is ripped out – I don’t send the cases like this. The zipper was closed when the gun was packed, apparently this can ONLY be done by forcing the zipper to open/close.
2. Stock – the gun was either dropped hard while in the box or when it was taken out. I assembled all guns and they all left me in pristine condition. You’ll need to file the claim with UPS.

Yes, there are many items that are ready to break at a little drop, or jarr.

However, if you have problems getting a new stock from Tony…???

Ps your pics not working..

I’m afraid I can’t blame ups on this one.
Again, there was *no* visible damage to the shipping box….none.

I can’t explain the cut in the zipper, perhaps some one just overlooked it before it was shipped. However, after closer examination of the crack, it appears to be stress facture of the wood stock when they married and tightened the rifle assembly on to the wood stock. It’s hard believe, but they probably didn’t even notice it…

As a retired UPS guy, I can tell you I have seen it all.

The best one, a bowling ball broken in half…

Brown can break anything….

Never, ever, plaster fragile all over the box, this side up..blah, blah……Its almost a challenge

Be cautious if you file a claim with UPS, they will want to see the box and how it was packaged. If they see no visable damage, they may claim it was like that before shipping, and not there fault. Just be aware of this, and be ready to argue a little..

If they still FWY, then threaten a call to National…when a call comes in to national, your drivers, bosses, bosses, boss get involved..things happen
Good luck

Never underestimate the power of UPS to damage something. All you’ll need is a new stock and you’ll be good to go.

Ouch. I am sorry to hear that. I hope you get everything sorted out bud.
