Q:

New R3 .25…..damaged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I literally received my R3 .25 just 5 minutes ago from UPS, but there’s some very serious problems.

1. The case zipper is completely cut through on each side.

2. But, wait a minute. Holy cow!!!! The walnut stock is completely cracked. If I pull on it with the sightless effort, I’m sure that whole piece would fall off.

I can understand damage can occur during transport, but there’s no visible damage to the containing box. I can’t believe I waited 9 months and paid $2050.00 for this.

Tony – I sent you a mail. Please advise.

There is a packaging problem.

There is no problem with the boxing of the gun, the box size and amount of packing peanuts is just fine. However, the gun case fills up the length of the box, so there is little to no peanuts on the ends.

The problem is, The gun slides back and forth inside the nylon case. Pick up your gun case right now and point it up, you can feel the gun moving inside the case. If the box is dropped on an end the whole weight of the gun acts like a hammer as is slides back and forth inside its nylon case building up momentum.

The simplest fix in the world, secure the gun in the middle of the case for shipping..DONE.

Exactly. Even something as simple as a 2 blocks of high density closed cell foam zipped inside the soft case at the front and back of the rifle would keep the rifle from sliding inside the softcase and “hammering” itself to a stop whenever the box is dropped and also provide an additional layer of cushioning.

ooohh no. not again….. UPS suck…… 😯 😯

you guys make me more more worry about my 2 Edguns will arrive sometime today…….. if my 2 Edgun get damage….. I will be verrrrry Pisssss off…… because We all pay lot $$$ and long time of waiting to get it…. to be perfect production….. not a damage one….. 😈 😈 😈

samurai998, out of everyone here, I really feel your pain.

No, quite literally, I feel your pain.

My gun came in todays…guess what ??

Ed and Tony, You ain’t gonna like it but.

I worked at UPS as a driver for 32 years, 4 years part time. While I took electronics, so I could learn how to change a light bulb.

Some velcro, nylon twist ties, like on a kids Barbie doll box..ect…
Just secure the gun inside the case.

Bitchin is fine, but here is a simple solution….Twist tie the gun down in middle of it case.

Pics

I can tell from this pic, the whole gun shifted backwards….so at some point, it was dropped on the barrel end.

With the above advice, out of the way. I must say this gun is beautiful. I mean its just georgeous.

My crying is over, I will just glue fix it, and see what a new stock costs.
Better shoot good though…hahhah πŸ˜†

Tony can a new stock be ordered?

I have to disagree (of course), my politics lie in truth and logic, most people know neither.

Fact is red vs. blue is fucked and if you believe in one of the two parties YOU fucked this country right into it’s current mess under the delusion you were fixing it… But I can see how a believer in either one of the two parties would see my view as “fucked”. πŸ˜‰

Pop quiz, which party in Congress voted in majority to destroy the Bill of Rights under the NDAA?

Hint: It’s the same party that supposedly believes in the 2nd amendment and the rest of the Constitution.

Which party split their votes on the same bill and would by extension actually support our rights more than the other?

So the question is, who’s politics are truly fucked? πŸ˜‰

Oh and my official forum title is “King Douche”… πŸ˜†

GET IT RIGHT PEOPLE!!!! πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

I understand what your going through, when I got my pcp bsa scorpion, it was all sorts of fucked up.

It was supposed to be brand new, and granted it didnt cost me 2 grand, I really was looking forward to getting it. The thing here is though, its not tony or eds fault (dealer) like mine was. Thats shipping. But you can fix it.

I got so mad I sold it for a fraction of what I paid, the guy paid 120 bucks to fix it, and the gun is a real tack driver and he is winning quite a few local matches with it. And now I hear bsa barrel quality is going down, so fuck me.

Try and keep cool, and know at the very worse, you have to pay for a new stock, and tony should discount it. At the best you fix the case yourself and the stock, or send it off to a very generous syn (although his politics are fucked πŸ˜† ) or a guy like doug phillips. It will be OK, just keep us updated.

Don’t feel like the Lone Ranger. I recieved my R3 22 standard last Thursday. And the same thing happened to me. I didn’t want to post anything about it yet because I didn’t want to piss anyone off. I talked with Tony about it last week. He said it was my baby. So, I filed the claim with UPS. They wanted to p.u. my rifle for inspection too. I said Hell No! They already screwed it up once I’m not giving them another shot at it. So, they agreed to do an over-the-line inspection. It is in the process as we speak. I can’t stand UPS, this is the 2nd time this has happened to me on air rifles. If I were to order another Edgun I would make sure it had insurance on it as well.
On one good note, I shot it this weekend and it is a Damn Tack Driver! I will post some groups at a later date. My wife shot a clay pigeon at 65 yds free handed standing. At least it’s accurate.

the absolute WORST claims service I have ever experienced was Fedex
number of years back I sold a very cherry Confederate Bowie to a client on a 3 day approval
After receiving it he decides to pass and ships it back via Fedex, a couple thousand in insurance and signature of course
thing was I never received the blade
in due course after a few weeks my client sends me a nasty email stating that the blade had been returned…wheres the refund?
Yes it was delivered back to me however the driver just left it sitting on the stoop! Vanished!!!
anyways Fedex disputed the amount of insurance, their phoney Adjuster who called me stated that this Knife was worth no more than a few hundred dollars
I don’t know how it resolved as I was not the insured party however I did get several threatening letters from my clients lawyer but I was not going to pay for the carriers screwup
understand this was not about packaging, it was the utter loss of an insured parcel that they then chose to dispute the value of after the client had paid for their meaningless insurance

Keep us posted samurai998, this is a valuable learning experience for the rest of us.

Your handling, and outcome, of this bad luck will enable the rest of us to know how to deal with problems similar to this, and we all have had problems along the way. If nothing else, we’ll know to use FedEx when we have a choice.

Don’t underestimate how badly we all feel about what happened. We all know it could so easily have been us, not you.

I would only let ups take the stock and bag.
If the scenario plays out the way you suspect, minimize the risk. Keep the action. Ask tony to replace the damage parts and propose a solution. For example, maybe you and tony can split the bill for the replacement parts. Obliviously, someone is ultimately responsible but no will step up until due process. While ups has the stock and case, you can negotiate with Tony.

Saying this, tomorrow I’m expecting my edgun and if I find any damage, I do what I recommended. But I hope that is not the case.

I totally understand your situation. Been there. I hope that everything is resolved in a timely manner bro.

I had cameras around my house and had pictures of a UPS man dropping a package fron the truck, it was stacked 3 packages high and the top packge had a vacum tube in it. I called them and they sent the same delivery guy to my house to get the box. I had to have it as it was delivered Item inside and it had to be packaged in the origional Factory Packaging and Double boxed, Bubble wrapped, and peanuts,,”The works”. After seing it was realy packaged good and that Vacum tubes can breake easy they finally decided to pay, they had no choice. So I called the tube company for which UPS was to pay the money, their policy is to do that, they don’t reinberse the Customer. And the copany said they hadn’t recieved the payment yet, and about a month later I emaild Him again and he replied this way…. I have not been paid yet, but they said they would send me my money, so I recon I’ll get it, so since you(me) have suffered enought I don’t think I should hold up you Tube any longer over UPS’s mistake so I’ll take the chance on getting paid and send you the Tube. I got the Tube it was unharmed and I never herd from him again, so I recon they paid him. So even if they are going to pay up it still is a long process. It has to be secured and when they come to get it if it is in a single box with a soft case and not secured and protected in that box so it can move, and is not secured in the case to prevent movement, you will have a hard time getting them to pay up. They sell you insurance, but that don’t mean you can collect it. I have experianced this and so has repair shops from places where I trade. One repair shop is today trying to get UPS to pay for a package that was damaged 3 years ago. He don’t ship a tube amp at all anymore, he tells you to come and pick it up, or if you want it shipped, he don’t take responsibility for how it arrives. My advise to use Fed Ex, they are a better shipper and they watch what they are doing better than the little Brown Truck. Hope My experiance helps you. πŸ˜€

Wish U well on a speedy recovery.

After the UPS guy takes it, and it is inspected by the pencil pushers. I think they would be more than happy to just buy you a new stock. But this is where the problem comes in. Can Tony supply you with a new stock without waiting for 6 months. I think after the inspection, You should explain the whole situation to the UPS claims person, over the phone and be nice! Tell him its a specialty item and you just cant get them around the corner, a 4 month wait. If you can’t get a complete replacement stock from Tony in a timely fashion, then perhaps you can talk the guy into paying $150 for a professional stock repair and you get the stock back. It should not cost u or Tony anything, you can always glue it, and use the monies and have tony order you a new one…

The moral, settle down talk to the claims guy, figure out a resolution.

Actually, i never inquired about getting a whole new gun. I am only interested in replacing what is damaged. i sent Tony an email this morning but I haven’t had a chance to check if he had responded – I’m literally stuck in bed with my wife’s laptop recovering from a double micodiscectomy & hemilaminectomy surgery done on Friday. I can bearly move.

Since he and I are both victims of UPS- I’m hoping he can offer something where we share the expense. Maybe half price for the stock and case…I don’t know – am I being unreasonable? I hope not.

Sounds to me like you’ve only tried to get a new gun from Tony. Have you asked about a new stock and bag and the cost from Tony? The rest of the gun looked OK.

I would just let UPS take the stock and the bag. Seems you either want a totally new gun or nothing and you’re digging yourself into a situation where you won’t have anything. The stock and bag can easily be fixed or replaced.

I feel for you man, but bashing Tony when you taken the All new or none route seems a little out of hand. You haven’t even found out what UPS will do for you yet. They certainly will be more open to working with you if the expense is only for a new stock and bag.

Hi,
The crack made a clean cut so I’m sure it can be fixed quite well, but as Dave_424 just mention above. I waited 9 months for this rifle, spent 2,050 dollars, and well over $1000 in accessories (i.e. scope, pellets, fill tank, etc)…WHY, because I want quality and perfection. How would you feel if you’ve bought the car of your dreams and then discover a dent in the fender, after you’ve paid him.

BTW – UPS is scheduled to pick up the rifle tomorrow, but I’m very reluctant to let them take it. Tony will no doubt blame UPS, UPS will likewise blame the packaging and I’ll be stuck right in the middle with no rifle and no money. This is without a doubt the worst buying experience I have ever had.

Has everyone forgotten that when you but a $2k airgun, you expect to not have to mess around fixing it when it gets to your door.

I say don’t bother trying to fix it, claim off those bastards

Dave
