…….VENTS……..
I keep telling you more shroud volume is important, but you have to use every trick available to lower the air pressure coming out the muzzle.
Open up the vents in the shroud, and it will get much quieter!
Where to vent, how many holes to vent…personally, I’d enlarge the tiny OEM vent holes in the back. That’s where I’d start. Leave the front enlarged shroud attachment alone, it baffles what air pressure is left and slows it’s exit down. Simply reduce that pressure ahead of time by releasing it at the rear of the barrel shroud. It can be made much quieter!
This isn’t experimental. It’s been done before and always worked, as long as you don’t over do it!!!

Ok so with the holidays it took an extra day…
I shot it in the garage a with the old and then with the new…. From shooting in the garage into my trap the gun is just loud.
now i did go outside and take a few shots with the new shroud. from what i can remember i thought it sounded more quiet outside.
we asked for the Offset shroud and now we got em  ….
I think they look cool. But on the other hand i think that ED may want to think about designing his next models with a 1/2 -20 adapter with a thread protector…. Then you can add what you want . or keep it short and run nothin
Either way i like The new shroud…. it looks cool and i think it maybe a little more quiet outside.
Received a .25 from Ed on Friday. Thanks Ed.
Ed sent me this one for free to try on my .25 Lelya as i wanted to make it a little longer and for the Lelya it makes a quite a bit of difference conpared to the one installed on the R3M some tone ago.
Need to chance to my Hawke mount one of those cant ones or get the FX when they have in Piccatiny.

[quote=”donnyfl”]I installed it on my .25 R3M today and was slightly disappointed. My gun is only shooting 800 fps yet the muzzle blast was still pretty audible. I haven’t shot this gun in a while since getting the Mutant and Vulcan. Forgot how loud the hammer slap is as well.
The install was pretty easy. I used a chop off saw to cut the 10 mm hex wrench. Cut it like butter.
Donny I’ve been using your design and it works fine for me. Don’t see a need to change over. I’d rather spend the money on pellets. :2cents:
g()t mine yesterday but I am held up doing stuff.

Just finished installing mine and it was pretty easy. As far as sound goes I could not tell because I could only take a few shots from inside my bathroom shooting out the window.
I just installed Ed’s new moderator, which Tony shipped two days ago. It is always a treat when a new product is as good or better than advertised and this moderator is as good as it gets. Very quiet with no added length. Installed on a 22Cal. shooting 920 fps and it does the trick. Thanks Ed!!
