P12 Bullpup Review coming soon
There has been much talk of a Bullpup some say an EDgun clone from China yet no one has actually handled one or
in fact seen one other than a few photo-shopped factory images on the interweb..
Until now that is..
I have just taken delivery of the two very first production prototypes for testing and review purposes, one in .177 and one in .22 and for the curious minds out there Im going to completely tare these down and compare them to their European counterparts for you all and answer every question you and the manufacturer want answered..
At this stage this rifle is not available but to the public but once the manufacturer gets the required feedback on their new product and make any modifications needed they will hit production and be distributed to their representatives around the globe. You cant buy these directly from the factory unless you are a representative as they don’t deal directly with the public and they have a minimum purchase number of 100 units. Please don’t ask me what these will retail for as it will depend entirely on your location and local distributors costs and mark ups. However I can tell you it will be cheaper (much cheaper) than any other bullpup currently available on today’s market.
Will this new low priced Bullpup compete with the European bullpup market needing very few mods right out of the box?
….or will it always be an entry level rough around the edge rifle with the quality resembling a the QB series of rifle etc that the tinkerers on a budget among us will flock to and replace every part on the rifle until it no longer resembles its original form and end up with something they can never recover their cost on when they eventually get pissed off with it and sell to buy the European Gun they wished they had bough in the first place..

They are made by the Snow Peak Airgun factory in Shaoxing China who are well know for making cheap springer’s, some owners have remarked that they have been of reasonable quality but I have never owned or inspected one so I will not comment.
Snow peak Airgun factory was established in 1976 and at present, the company has 10 series with more than 30 specifications of airgun products, and owns several patents. The company also cooperates with internationally well-known airgun brands, and is rich in mature OEM experiences with a strong design and R&D team, they boast a first-class quality control system and testing equipments.
PCP Rifles are a new venture for Snow peak and they are gearing up to produce two PCP rifles, the M10 which looks to be a Air Arms S400 clone and this one the P12 bullpup which will be the subject of this independent review.

Please note this will be an evolving thread with an extensive unbiased review that tests every component of these PSP’s professionally and thoroughly.
I will first test and provide data on the rifles exactly as they arrived from the factory floor and then (should I need to) I will provide a list of all defects, point out any “quirks” and improvements needed to bring them up to an international standard.
Once all testing and data collection is done going onto a section of “extensive modification and tuning” in an attempt to get this Bullpup to be “all it can be”
I have a stock of new .177 and .22 L/W and BSA match barrels should the stock barrels be less than perfect.
Where is the .25cal model I also hear you all ask? I also have two new .25cal match grade barrels, one BSA and the other Lothar Walther that will I test on this platform for all those modders out there with the burning desire for more energy..
I know there will be plenty of questions rattling around out there already but please allow me the time to finish this first section before slamming me with them as I will do my best to leave all questions unanswered in the initial review.. I will be open to all questions and suggestions once I complete this initial review and start on the field testing stage.

Plenty Chinese PCPs out there,…remember, the Maurader is basicaly a Chinese PCP 😉
I was just kidding about being a distributor for the P12, I don’t know if I wanted to own a Chinese clone of anything in PCP. Let’s face it, it could be a direct clone of the Bullpup Edgun or Cricket.
First of all, in my personal opinion, does not feels right. Second, it is not safety tested and someone could get hurt.
I have nothing against Chinese. I think they are great people if you get to know them at a personal level, but copying other peoples work, selling at a dirt cheap is going to hurt everybody in the long run, besides, you just can’t expect a 500 dollars gun to shoot like a 2000 gun. Of course, I could be wrong.
Oh yeah, one more thing. They claimed to be world leader this, world leader that, but when was the last time you see anything made in China are from their own invention? If you can name one thing that are genuine made in China, I can give you 10 things they copied.
I buy stuffs made in China all the time, but there are certain things I won’t. There is a line that I will not cross. It is just me.
I am sorry guys, I don’t want to turn this topic into a big argument. It is what I see as a big picture. Matter of fact, I considered you all are friends and I will not judge you if you do ended up with one of these in your collection. At the end of the day, we are all air gunners and we enjoyed our sport.

We had a propane fueled stove when I was 13. Dad and I took the empty bottle back for a refill. As we pulled into the place that sold refills for propane and also sold and refilled industrial bottles of varying gasses, we noticed that people were just starting to pop their heads up all over the parking lot and storage area. It looked like a cartoon or something out of a Monty Python movie!
Just before we got there, a delivery man dropped a full 2700 psi oxygen bottle off of the back end of a delivery truck. It was one of the tall ones and they are very heavy. It landed on the valve end and broke the screw on protective cap and valve off. The bottle took off and went thru a concrete block containment wall and ended up around 400 yards out in the plowed field that the business was next to.
I was amazed and I am sure that I thought Holy Shit!
The next year, I was enrolled in a high school welding class. At the start of the class, the instructor was preaching shop safety. He is doing the basic yada yada yada and then, he says; if you EVER see an oxygen bottle get knocked over and the valve break off, it will just set there and hiss for a couple of seconds before it takes off. While it is setting there hissing, just jump on it to keep it from taking off.
I just started laughing my ass of at the stupid MF! The instructor wanted to know what I thought was so funny? I told him that what he just said was the stupidest thing that I had ever heard! I had just seen what a full oxygen bottle could do and IF anybody was so stupid as to jump on one and could then stay on top of it, the bottle would just leave them smeared out on the wall as it punched its way thru the wall!
What a moron! I got sent to the principal’s office and I had to explain why I was sent there. I had to have a parent/teacher meeting and dad straightened the instructor out pronto!
I got back into the class, the instructor had to change is advice about jumping onto hissing oxygen bottles and I got to fuck with the dumb ass all year! I learned a lot in that class, just not from the instructor.
I got invited to a party where the main entertainment was a full oxygen bottle with attached rear fins being launched into a large lake. They had a guiding rails launcher setup that was angled around 30 degrees up. A spring powered knife blade guillotine setup was used to shear the valve off. It departed with more of a roar than a hiss and that sucker went way far out into the lake!
I want to try that with my 15 year old 45 cubic foot CF 4500 psi SCBA tank this year at my air gun buddies place!

I witnessed a scuba tank fall over in my university scuba diving class and knock off the valve assembly on an old 2600 psi tank. The tank went through a cinder block wall and embedded in a second wall in another room. It made a believer out of me. The wrapped carbon fiber stuff is safer but these reservoir tubes are little bombs.

I have saw, and I think it was Ed, refer to it as a special Duraluminum only available there ! I would have to believe we have an equivalent material here, at least I would hope.. China on the other hand. I will want to hear how much the tube swells at 200 bar

I just looked at my completely dismantled 25 R3/M and noticed Ed does use 12.9 grade bolts in the air tube retention screws and trigger guard. I had just got a complete set of 12.9 replacement screws for all four of my guns based on the softness of a few small screws that were not marked. I am now thinking they are the only ones that were soft !!
Might ought to drill a 1/2″ hole in the vault door for the fill hose
How close will you be the first time you charge that Chinese metallurgy special air reservoir up to 200 bar? 😯
