Quick session with the cricket
This morning I went out for a quick paper punching session before the harsh South African sun gets high in sky.
I filled my Kalibrgun Cricket .25 to 220bar, cleaned the barrel with surgical spirits and got ready to send some lead.
The wind was quite strong blowing about 12-16km/h. I used shooting bags in the prone position. Not the most comfortable way, but it is stable and that matters most.
I shot three, 5 shot groups at 50m. All with JSB king 25gr straight out of the tin. I dont hunt much further than this, becuse I rarely have a stable platform. I mostly hunt out of the seated position, out of hand, or off some homemade shooting sticks.
The wind varied quite a bit, but I kept the same POA the whole time. Unforunatly I pulled one of the shots, but otherwise I am pretty happy with these 3 groups.
I would like to see what kind of groups you guys are getting.

From an old Ernest post ……..
1. Rotor: The o-ring on the unregulated pressure side of the piston rotor o-ring is a static seal that I replace with a 1.9mm X 3.8MM Buna-N 90 o-ring. that the hardest working o-ring in the air tube, its seal out up to 300B pressure while the rotor in motion when you take a shot, the regulated side of the rotor is 2mm X 10mm V70 Viton o-ring.
2. Regulator OD: on the high pressure side is use 3mm X 24 mm V75 Viton O-ring and on the regulated air side OD I used 3mm X 24MM Buna – N70
3. Air valve end cap: this o-ring seals only regulated air so only 3mm X 24mm Buna N70 required.
4. Fill Valve end cap: this o-ring is subject to 300B pressure so I used 3mm X 24mm V75 Viton.
5. fill check valve: this o-ring is subject to 300B 1.5mm X 3mm V75 Viton
6. Gauge: subject to 300b pressure 2mm X 9.5mm V75 Viton
7. barrel breech end: 1.5mm X 10.5mm X2 Buna-N70
8. air valve to action: 1.5mm X 16mm X 2 Buna-N70
9. barrel probe o-ring .25 cal 1.5mm X 6.5mm Buna-N70
10. Fill probe o-ring: 1.5mm X 3.5mm X2 V75 Viton
11. Barrel probe o-ring .22 cal 1.5mm x 5.5mm

There is a pdf out there, a blown up parts view with all of the parts including o-rings in metric. I printed it out and marked all of the o-rings with yellow marking pen

hi guys. does anybody have a full O-ring list for the Cricket? Mine is leaking out of the first AND second “tell-tale’ hole in the AT. Losing 30BAR a week. :sadn: if the list can be in metric form it will be even better :whistle:
No, my mind is focused on shooting and airguns all the time. You didn’t understand that I was explaining how to check if an airgun barrel needs to be cleaned? Shame on you for thinking about something else, Doorns! :nono:

A great alternative to checking if your pole needs to be polished …or cleaned … if you don’t have a colonoscope is to do this procedure:
1. Put your scope on at least 10X magnification so you’ll be able to see your tadpole-like projectiles…ahem, I mean pellets.
3. With the sunlight behind your back, proudly point your hard-hitting hammer 60-80 degrees towards the sky and look through your scope.
3. Shoot a load…I mean pellets. The sunlight behind will reflect on them, allowing you to see them in flight. If they don’t fly straight, or if they fly in a corkscrew-like motion, then you need to clean your pole. It may be best to let the misses or girlfriend clean it as she may do a better job of priming it up for your next shooting session. If your pellets shoot straight leave your adult airgun alone; that is, DON’T CLEAN OR POLISH IT. DON’T EVEN ATTEMPT TO FUX IT!
SAFETY FIRST: Make sure that you know what is beyond in the direction you are shooting. It’s best to do this on a wide open shooting area where there isn’t private property in the distance or people who could get hit by your crooked-flying load… I mean projectiles … unless you’re like Zonk who has the real estate to shoot all kinds of things in any direction he wishes. Just kidding Zonk. 😀 This method is also useful in checking if your ammo is clipping the ribbed section or nipple of your pipe’s condom. Remember: a clean pipe is able to shoot stuff into a tight hole.
Shoot safe … and straight, guys!
On a seroius note I think I didn’t polish enough, and I did go all the way out the crown as well.

Spent the better part of my youth (12-18 years) shooting NRA 50′ smallbore.
My vote is for the NRA A-17 target. I would modify it to have it all white w thin black lines?
