I go with two scopes, zeroed on each own caliber. No need to re-zero.

That’s one solution… but having two rifles ready to go is still more convenient. 🙂

Wonder when FX will release all the pricing breakdown and availability info on the Impact and the additional barrels and magazines… and how much AOA will mark it up.

Regardless, I’ll give them at least a few months out in the wild in the hands of others for testing before I make any decision. Hopefully the Wildcat and Impact don’t suffer from Bobcat-levels of teething issues…

Did anyone else notice that a scope was included in the case holding the Impact? I wonder if FX is including a scope like they do with the FX Verminator II Extreme.

I hope they aren’t including the scope or the QD mount in the video… I wouldn’t want to have to pay for things I don’t want.

Maybe they’ll offer the rifle only and also offer a “takedown kit” complete with the carrying case and scope.

Hopefully more information and pricing gets posted soon.

Been there and done that for years with my Sako Quad . 4×4 of rimfires. It’s first time in the world of AG though , i think.

Did that for a couple months with my single Sako Quad switching between .22LR and .17HMR… seems every time I wanted to grab the rifle to go shooting I was planning to shoot the “other” barrel that wasn’t currently on the rifle and sighted in so I was always swapping barrels and rezeroing. Finally bought a second Quad and built it up with identical scope and stock. Now I have a .22LR and .17hmr Quad ready to go every time I open the safe. Granted it cost twice the price of a single rifle but it’s so much more convenient. 😛

Back to the air powered realm…

The FX Impact really has my interest… I’d love to have a .30 PCP to play with occasionally but not full time. I can’t justify a complete second PCP and scope just for .30 because of how rarely I’d use it but the Impact and the switch barrels makes it appealing. Of course, that depends on what price the barrels and magazines come in at.

The external power adjustment is also appealing, no more accidental holes in the barn from my 48 ft-lb .25 Edgun when I go out at night to eliminate unwanted critters in the rafters… 😆

Is the power adjustment on the Impact confirmed to be a true regulator adjustment and not just a quick and dirty hammer spring tension adjustment? If it’s a true externally adjustable regulator… nice!

All the Impact needs IMO is a short picatinny section on the front of the bottle for a bipod mount. I know from experience with other rifles if you stick the bipod on the rail FX put just in front of the trigger it’s going to make for an awkward balance point. A little clamp on rail at the very front of the bottle would be nice and wouldn’t be difficult to do.

Given the growing pains with the Bobcat and the recent FX/AOA “pricing structure” coming to light I think I’ll wait and see how these shake out rather than rushing to buy one from the first batch.

Still, glad to see more options on the market and some more design diversity out there.

I noticed the CF bottle is made by Inocom, a Korean brand. It’s a bit odd seeing that on a European gun.

That is because that is who makes those bottles. and they probably have a pattent on them. Raw, daystate, FX, evanix They all get them from the same place.
about 2 years ago…. the only one that used them was Evanix. I hunted high and low for them. and it always pointed back to Inocom. I don’t think there are any other that make that particular bottle…. Although i may be wrong. but i haven’t been able to find them elsewhere.

The CF bottle that cam on my DayState Wolverine B HiLite was made by Luxfer, not Inocom.

VERY!!

If the Impact has some good numbers on shot count and accuracy, I may have to have one of those. I was thinking .177 for plinking and target shooting and .25 for hunting.

Get all of them…

I’ve got the biggest hard on for the Impact. I’ll probably have to sell a lot of stuff..
I’m going to be very pissed off if it’s over $2k… And it most likely will. I wonder how much adjustment will have to be made if your switching the calibers from .22-.30? I’m guessing the regulator will have to be adjusted as well? I don’t know. The guys who don’t care about the new guns coming out will also be lucky.. I bet this summer the classifieds will be flooded with really great guns for cheap.. Everyone selling the herd to buy the newest heifers!

The capability of interchanging barrels and variable power setting are HUGE !!

I just want to know when and how much! This is something that looks to interesting to pass up.
