Q:

R3M /R3 Review and Performance .WoW

Gentlemen;

First of all i want to apologize to Mr. Eduard and all of you, because i brought you incorrect info regarding the loudness of the new R3M, i told you that it is a little bit louder than my M-Rod, but it is not like this,

Okay, let talk about the loudness, what did you say? loud? Hey Hemn what sound are you talking about? 😯 guys if the Condor sound level is #5 and M-Rod is #2 then the new R3M is 0.75 😯 😯 on my point of view, because it is really really quite, yesterday when i did some practice in my fathers backyard all the sparrows and doves or even all birds they were on their position near at me on the trees when i was trying to do some chrony test, never moved and flied, believe me guys,
when i said that R3M is a little bit louder i was in my bed room 😯 😯 when i tried three dry fire,

Eduard you are correct as you told me dry fire is usually louder than fire with pellets …. sorry again…..

it is really really nice rifle and quite also more powerful than the R3,

guys you will be surprised when you see the below strings of the new R3M, here we go……………………………………….

Date Oct 12th 2013,
Edgun Matador R3M, .22 cal, starting pressure was 220 bar as mentioned in the manual.
Pellet; JSB 18.13gr

Eduard please tell me am i sick or these fps are correct ?

Shot# FPS

1 – error
2 – error

31 – 1002
32 – 998.2
33 – 993.7
34 – 994.9 my place was very very bad for testing my gun so, i had to pull the gun toward me in order to get the perfect position for aiming the target, so, i believe those shots under 999fps occurred because of that.
35 – 995.9
36 – 999
37 – 997
38 – 999
39 – 999.2
40 – 997.9 Pressure was 155 bar

43 – error
44 – error
45 – error
46 – error
47 – error
48 – Fucking error
49 – Fucking error
50 – Fucking error i believe due to the sun set the chrony wasn’t able to read. the last pressure was 145 bar

The average of the total of 39 shots = 1001.2 fps. ( i got the fps of 39 shot that is why i am calculating only 39)

the accuracy is very good out of 40 mtr for me ( since i am a new one to Bullpup and such a high quality of the gun )

Dear Sir Ville; when you read my review you will understand that there are a huge difference between R3 and R3M.

Dear Trygve; please go back to your home and let Mr. Martti ship your new R3M.

I will post the pics of the targets latter…..

Hope other guys who got their R3M share the new info ……………………

Hey Edgun Brother Hemn: nice shooting!

Now, set up 6 AK 47 cases, at 100 yards and shoot 6 with 6 shots.

Sorry that I keep posting that BUT: I’m really proud of it and I would never ever be able to do it again.

Brother Donny, this is the vid and some info that i was talking about ,,,,,

that day i took some shot and have strings but don’t have time to put all of them,,, anyhow this is what i did?

a .22LR shell ,,, i took two shots at 80 meters (87.5 yards) ,,,,, i could hit the shel by 2nd shot … i measured the shell dimensions in order to give you some figures ,,, here you go,,,,

i believe the shell is almost in the same size with these two JSB .22 18.13 grs

here is a video,,, i used the Seben camera mount that has been sent to me by brother Tedd, with my Galaxy S4zoom ….

or use this if the above link is not working,,,,

thanks for watching ,,,

Just an off topic to my subject….

Today i received my shipment from Hill company, i have to say all each pieces are in a very good shape and they packed inside 4 cartons as shown below,,, and their original carton also,,, really nice packing ,,,thanks Hill company,,, but still didn’t try the pumps whether they are working properly or not but looks like everything are ok,,,,

actually one of the pumps to one of my friends the other one i ordered for another person ,,, who has a bad pump,,,he said i cannot pump my HW100 over a few bars,,,

here you can see three cartons ….

everything in a good shape ,,,

thanks for watching guys…

hopefully i can get my pellets like this and easily ,,,

quote Demp223:

115 regulated shots at 885 fps with JSB 18s. 2.3fps SD with max spread of 9fps over entire string.
I could have counted appx another 3-5 shots after 115 but it is clear that velocity was dropping off. There is still another very useable 10-20 shots after the 115 for hunting and no noticeable POI change out to 75 yds.
So I stopped my count at 115 shots which ended at 100 bar perfectly.
Since I’ve retuned the 22 to 20fpe shooting JSB 13.43 at 810fps it gets mostly used for around the house pesting out to 60 yds.
And FYI that pellet still shoots close to MOA at 100yds consistently.
I haven’t done a full shot string count but based on shots per bar useage I’m guessing I’ll get around 140-150 shots easily from
210-90 bar.

Brother Denny,

That is really great performance, I am almost with the same line, ,, but a little bit more velocity ,, I don’t know if my chrony lies or correct? ?

very well tuned. Why do you like to have jsb 13.43 at 810 fps? is the trajectory still very flat up to 60 yard?

Brother Denny,

for what speed your Edgun is performing 115 Reg shots? it is interesting ,,,, i got the same shot count for my Edgun long version as well,,,,

i can say that i agree with you with regarding the velocity of my Edgun, i noticed my Edgun barrel likes velocity between 920 FPS down to 880 FPS with JSB 18.13gr…

i have better groups between 880 – 920 FPS … but i would like to try again the first velocity before i reduce the power ,,, 1001 FPS … and let see what i can get …

quote Demp223:

I gladly gave up a couple FPE with the perfect sized pellet to be able to shoot anything out of the tin just as accurately.
Plus I got 115 regulated shots from 210-110 bar at around 80* temps.

My Brother Charlie,

That is really great & interesting that your Edgun STD is performing 88 shots with 880fps,

Please try this idea and take pics for every step in order to let us understand this new idea (at least for me),

Thanks for sharing, ,,

Hi Hemn,

I have STD R3M.

I learned someone in the forum who has mentioned about this idea. Reducing air chamber to make more shots.

So, yours is Edgun Standard? ??? if Yes… then getting 86 shots for 880 fps is more than perfect ,,,and great performance,,, i have never seen such a performance before (if yours is STD) please let me know which version do you won?

I turned the reg from 12′ to 5′. Yours is different. You have a longer barrel.

I didn’t get you in this!!! i don’t know this idea!! could you please if you ever do this ,,please take pics and let me understand ..please

quote charlie101:

I’m thinking to put a small piece of tube inside of chamber to reduce the volume of regulated air. It may get more shots per fill.

I got 86 shots at avg 880 fps from 220 to 110 bar. I don’t get extra shots. I don’t know why. It’s the best I tried so far.

I turned the Reg. from 117 bar to 110 bar today. And it’s still able to shoot at 910 fps. When I got it, it was at 130 bar setting. now it’s 110 bar. I think I’m getting more shots per fill.
see pics.

My dear brother Chalie,

That is perfect, I would like to see how many shots can be performed and all …

Could you please advice how many turns you needed from 130 bar to 110 bar?

Do you think that if my Edgun reg has set to 130 bar so I need exact turns that you turned your reg to 110 bar?

Thanks for sharing …. it is very nice …

Sorry, Hemn. I don’t have full shot string. I shot a couple of pellet at 210 bar, then 180 bar, 140 bar and 110 bar. It’s around 870 to 880 fps. less spiral pellets if it’s not too windy. also not too picky on jsb pellets.

I shoot target only 36 yards, that’s no need to show the group.

Over 36 yards, I’m only able to shoot on tree branches, leaves or make holes on snow. No paper target. But I always can see where the pellets go through my scope.

Wingman,

I agree with you on optimal head size for the designed barrel.
However as you have seen JSB sizes vary quite a bit as well as wieght by as much as a full grain in a single tin.
Ive put appx 60k JSB 18s through my 22 long. I’ve measured, weighed, sorted, shot groups and catalogued at various speeds more than I care to remember.
5.50 is optimal head size and performs excellent from 900-950 in all conditions.
However being JSB consistency is not optimal and I buy in bulk and shoot A LOT, I have found I don’t have time nor inclination to chase down perfect head size anymore. Why? Because after all that extensive testing I found if I simply tuned my 22 to 885 fps it would shoot whatever JSB produced at MOA accuracy with no spirals.
I gladly gave up a couple FPE with the perfect sized pellet to be able to shoot anything out of the tin just as accurately.
Plus I got 115 regulated shots from 210-110 bar at around 80* temps.
I primarily hunt with the 25 long with JSB 25s at 940fps now. It maintains MOA at that speed out to 150 regularly if I do my part.
I tuned down the 22 to shoot JSB 13.43s at 810 for 20fpe for field target. I only shoot those out to 55yds but they are every bit as accurate as the 18s were at there favorite speed.
