Q:

R3M /R3 Review and Performance .WoW

Gentlemen;

First of all i want to apologize to Mr. Eduard and all of you, because i brought you incorrect info regarding the loudness of the new R3M, i told you that it is a little bit louder than my M-Rod, but it is not like this,

Okay, let talk about the loudness, what did you say? loud? Hey Hemn what sound are you talking about? 😯 guys if the Condor sound level is #5 and M-Rod is #2 then the new R3M is 0.75 😯 😯 on my point of view, because it is really really quite, yesterday when i did some practice in my fathers backyard all the sparrows and doves or even all birds they were on their position near at me on the trees when i was trying to do some chrony test, never moved and flied, believe me guys,
when i said that R3M is a little bit louder i was in my bed room 😯 😯 when i tried three dry fire,

Eduard you are correct as you told me dry fire is usually louder than fire with pellets …. sorry again…..

it is really really nice rifle and quite also more powerful than the R3,

guys you will be surprised when you see the below strings of the new R3M, here we go……………………………………….

Date Oct 12th 2013,
Edgun Matador R3M, .22 cal, starting pressure was 220 bar as mentioned in the manual.
Pellet; JSB 18.13gr

Eduard please tell me am i sick or these fps are correct ?

Shot# FPS

1 – error
2 – error
3 – 1012 the muzzle was near from the chrony about 50cm the i put the chrony after this shot 60cm away from the muzzle.
4 – dry fire by mistake
5 – 1003
6 – 1003
7 – 1003
8 – 1004

12 – 1009
13 – 999.5
14 – 1002
15 – 1001
16 – 1000
17 – 1004
18 – 999.7
19 – 998
20 – 1006 Pressure was 185 bar

29 – 998.1
30 – 999 Pressure was 172 bar
31 – 1002
32 – 998.2
33 – 993.7
34 – 994.9 my place was very very bad for testing my gun so, i had to pull the gun toward me in order to get the perfect position for aiming the target, so, i believe those shots under 999fps occurred because of that.
35 – 995.9
36 – 999
37 – 997
38 – 999
39 – 999.2
40 – 997.9 Pressure was 155 bar
41 – 1011
42 – 997.1
43 – error
44 – error
45 – error
46 – error
47 – error
48 – Fucking error
49 – Fucking error
50 – Fucking error i believe due to the sun set the chrony wasn’t able to read. the last pressure was 145 bar

The average of the total of 39 shots = 1001.2 fps. ( i got the fps of 39 shot that is why i am calculating only 39)

the accuracy is very good out of 40 mtr for me ( since i am a new one to Bullpup and such a high quality of the gun )

Dear Sir Ville; when you read my review you will understand that there are a huge difference between R3 and R3M.

Dear Trygve; please go back to your home and let Mr. Martti ship your new R3M.

I will post the pics of the targets latter…..

Hope other guys who got their R3M share the new info ……………………

Yes, Sir Ville, I like those animals for hunting, ,,,one day I will come God Willing, ,, and we hunt them with your Sako .22LR

Brother Charlie,

very nice hunting and great performance on your R3M to get 80 shots with best accuracy,,, i would like to see some detail about your R3M ,,, shot strings and targets as well,,, i would like to compared to my R3M ,,,

actually have already plenty of shot strings and targets or even a vid that i posted ,, but i didn’t get enough time to post them,,, i tried many targets at 80 mtrs ,,, what i noticed is usually i could have one small hole for three shots out of five shots ,,, don’t know why ???? i tried to drop down the velocity ,,, i noticed between 880 to 890 fps i can get best groups and also between 910 to 920 as well,,,, my JSB pellets are almost finished so i am stopping target practices just want to have some starling or pigeon down,,,,

I’ve tried to shoot as much as I can since I got my R3M. The more I shoot it, the more I love it.
It’s just getting better. After more than 2k pellets, I cleaned the barrel. It gets more than 80 shots and great accuracy.

It’s not hard to shoot sparrows at 50 yards. and so easy to get head shot on quarrels.

I have no doubt that according your gun gauge you only use 1Bar/shot but what i doubt STRONGLY , let me refrase ; i´m beyond any doubt on this, the gauge is telling bedtime stories. It doesn´t matter where you place the Chrony since that doesn´t effect the air consumption whether it´s one inch or thirty feet from the muzzle. And when you´re doing those strings it doesn´t much matter on what distance you have it as long as the muzzle/chrony distance stays the same during the string.
I also think the spread in speed on your recent string is mile wide – it would be fair to say it´s all over the place.
I don´t want to sound like an asshole – whether i´m one or not – but your rifle needs some tuning together with a working pressure gauge. The gauge is not essential but i´d not accept half the deviation your string shows.
Then again – if it shoots accurately and consistently then why bother.
How you can get 110 shots/fill ? I can get nearly as many from my .25 Cricket if i let it go far down. That could maybe even result to a deviation your rifle has once i´m down to around 70 Bar. :winkn:

And , once again , i have no exceptional skills on PCP´s so you shouldn´t call me an Expert. As i´ve said i´m pretty new to the world of real AG´s in general. The real experts here would be Ernest, OG and Whinywino.

My Dear Brother Ville,

I really would like to have ability to send my gun either to you or Tedd or Ernest or any other one who has a very good skills with PCP rifles,,, to see this by your eyes,,, but all of you know about my 2 years story … so, if i send the gun then i never should wait for it again … :darth-vader:

but i have to prove this to all of you, how? i will tell you…. i have my Seben scope mount on the way to me (my brother Tedd has shipped to me), i will record my shot count to you and post the vid here …i have a Benjamin bad pellets ,,, FFT bad pellets ,,, i can use them for this test,,,, or i can put my S.G S4zoom in front of the chrony … this is the best and fast for me .. let me get a chance to do it…

Edit; So, if the gauge is lying, then how could i get +110 shots … ????

but one more important think, i have asked this question 100 times without getting an answer from either one of you , please let me know how to place my chrony for testing the velocity of the gun? i usually place 60cm (2 F) away from the end of the gun muzzle.. is it correct … and 6 inches high from the muzzle level?

quote Sir Ville:

Either that or his gauge is extremely optimistic. I have asked around and no one has ever heard of such minuscule air consumption at that power level. Sorry to burst your bubble – the gauge is lying.
Send the gun to me and i’ll give it a proper Funeral … 😉

Great efficiency! I have same but for HW100 only with 16joules :biggrinn:

Brother Charlie,,,,

Saturday, i have fired more 10 shots,,, with average of 940 FPS , i started with 205 bar and ended on that place which is shown at below pic … i rather have some suspects … however i placed the chrony 60 cm away from the muzzle and tested … see here … it is even more than 195 bars … it means lees than 10 bars for 10 shots …strange ,, very strange ,,,ahahaha    i am very happy with my Edgun .,,,

quote charlie101:

I changed my reg. from 1750 psi to 1650 psi yesterday and HST stays same. I shoot 885 fps and have 90 shots filled to 220 bar. It is better than 1750 psi setting. I also had very few spiral pellets found.

That is remarkable! Your gun is extremely air efficient.

Ville,,,

Finally I have tried end pressure of my Edgun, after my last post and at the same ending pressure i went to pigeon hunting with my Father-In-Low,,, i took six shot on that pressure which is shown on the last post,,, today i got some chance went to take some other shots,,, after six shot the gauge was like this;

it means today i started on this pressure,, and here is 22 shots with JSB 18.13gr… with average of 925 fps …. the velocity ended on 900.4fps…

1- 945.5
2- 943.6
3- 938.7
4- 933.8
5- 933.8
6- error
7- 935.2
8- 933.7
9- 936.4
10- 931.3
11- 930.4
12- 923.1
13- 922.1
14- 925.3
15- 923.1
16- 917.6
17- 916
18- 909.7
19- 914.6
20- dry f
21- 903.2
22- 900.4

+ 6 shots during hunting = 28 shots

last time i got 60 shots from 180 bars to 120 bars,,,, this time 28 shots… so, now i am rather sure how many shots i can get per one fill,,, if we go back to one of my old posts i get 90 shots 220 – 120 bar ,,,, if i leave the gun on 900 fps or go down for 886 fps which is agreed buy most of the edgun owners that is the best velocity for this gun can be reached at this speed…. i can say i will get above +125 shot … the reg dropped down but still i can get more powerful/ useful shots,,, what do you think guys???

after 28 shots the gauge was like this ;

but i am not happy with my group which is shown here,,, but this time my task was shot count not target ,, and i was shooting not seriously … i measured the head sizes they were between 5.48 to 5.53mm ,,, i think this only and my last tin of JSB is the worst pellets i have ever tried unfortunately …. this last tin could at least make me happy 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 😥 however i am hardly trying to get some JSB boxes (5 or 10 boxes, each box contains 30 tines…) but JSB company rejected to ship pellets to fucking Iraq … however i told them that i don’t want to ship 300 Kg of pellets via air craft to my fucking country and don’t want to spend plenty of $$ on shipping … but as usual i have to wait one more month to get a reply from them…. i have my way how to ship ti my country ,,, there is a ground shipping way 1.5 euro per one Kg,,, if the shipment from UK it will GBP 1.5 per 1 Kg,,,, i want to use this way ,,, i have an initial ok to import them…

this is what i get this time…

5 shots at 80 mtr ….

quote Sir Ville:

Do it. I´m not an expert but i think every selfclaimed one(and i´m the Chairman of the Board) on this Forum would like to know how you did it. One Bar per shot is remarkable – or am i drunk ???

My Brother Charlie;

i already told him that i want to be an AG, since no one in Whole Iraq knows what is the hell JSB pellets, how good and accurate they are? only Bag Gamo and some fake pellets are available here ,,, i want to bring this good pellets into my country and survive them from the very bad and uncontrolled (no quality control for leads) on the quality ,,, i will not rise up myself ,,, but i can say no one in Iraq read air gun forums and have good info about the air rifles (especially PCP) and pellets or so,,, i not know anyone ,,, maybe there is or not … who the hell knows ,,, but if there is why i cannot see anyone???? ,,, if i can get them from the JSB directly it will be so cheap and more quality ..like our brother Pill (W NZ) got the best Quality ,,, i am willing to pay some extra if they can provide me and give me a guarantee on the best QC, … i will learn my citizen what is the best things to use …

My Brother I don’t know why your Edgun is performing like this and why mine is like this??? i can only say,, the only different is the reg,

please tell me are you using Chrony or Combro ? how are you using the Chrony/Combro?

i usually place my chrony between 40cm – 60cm away from the Edgun muzzle,, and about 4″ or more under the muzzle … if these are wrong please some one correct it for me.

Please mention your Edgun Version, long, ST or Short?

i have a difference (between 5 – 10)bars between my Edgun gauge and my Hill pump gauge, but yours is to much .. you should make sure which one is wrong … but i will go to refill my Edgun as per my Edgun gauge, not the Hill,,,

but Edgun Gauge is very accurate and sensitive ,, it reads any changes in the temperature,, inside and outside of my home … i hope somebody give/tell/learn me how to use my Chrony properly in order to know whether my Chrony reading velocity is correct or wrong… ?? please …

Hope somebody come up with his wisdom and nice advices.… :8: :8:

The shipping cost is more than the pellets themselves. It’s so bad. Hope you can get the ammo from JSB company directly.
if you become the AG dealer there, it maybe easier.

I filled my gun to 220 bar on the gun gauge(scuba gauge shows 250 bar) and shot it to 100 bar on rifle( scuba gauge shows about 120-130bar). I got about 85-90 good shots at 880 Fps (not yours 930 fps). So I got only about 1.33 bar per shot. Edgun long may perform more efficient.

Have you tried to fill it to 220 bar and test the air consumption?

Nice group, Hemn. I can do it at 50 yards, but not 80 meter.
1 bar one shot, you have a good reg.
Have you seen any spiral pellets at 930 fps? with jsb 18.13. Have you sorted your pellets? any tuning except cleaning your barrel?

My dear brother Charlie;

if you try more shots day after the day you will be able to do even better than mine since you are not living in iraq and can get everything more easily than me,, ,,, i cannot do more target practice because i don’t have even 1 tin of JSB, i want to buy pellets directly from JSB company and ask for the high quality pellets that they have made them under the edgun label ,,, i asked the high quality (uniform head sizes and undamaged skirts), my brothers Tedd and ville tried to get me some … but due to some reason we couldn’t,,, but i become to know if i could to get them from JSB Co. i might get them cheaper ,… if i buy them from US as i tried i put 20 tins to the cart at PA web,, and the total was $229, but the shipping cost was around $255,,, i have sent emails several times to JSB still waiting for the reply..

ONE SHOT ONE BAR IT WAS MY BIG QUESTION,,,, I REALIZED THIS LONG TIME AGO BUT I WAS NOT SURE… THIS IS THE REASON THAT I DON’T WANT CHANGE THE REG…

still i haven’t seen any spiral pellets at any speeds … and never sorted pellets … however i want to do that before ordering any pellets from JSB … this is really important ..

all i did just cleaning the barrels .. .. if i have time and good pellets or stuffs ,,, i believe i can perform better … i will try 100 mtr later if i ever get chance..

thanks ..
